Chapter 1339: Chapter 15: The Cuckoo Occupying the Magpie’s Nest
"Survive for 72 hours under the pursuit of alien species, and if the mortality rate of the group reaches sixty percent, the mission will fail and a mass extermination punishment will be administered!"
The Conquerors, upon hearing the Trojan announcement, wanted to curse. They hated missions involving newbies the most because errors by the newcomers could cost them their lives.
"Is everyone listening? Head back to the bus’s location now and gather there. Repeat the instructions." After escaping the detention center, Tang Zheng immediately called the whole group, preparing to evacuate the area.
"What a nuisance!" Mu Nianqi wiped the blood off her curved knife, glanced at the corpse, and turned to leave.
The Conquerors moved quickly, but ironically, it was the newbies who arrived the last, running out of breath.
Pang Meiqin had improved her combat ability and naturally was not driving anymore. Lin Fachan, who was good at driving, took over willingly. His girlfriend stayed by his side, inseparable.
"Quick, check the attributes of the spoils of war!" Lu Fan spread his legs and sat down face-to-face on his lap, snuggling in his embrace.
The Magic Bow Fallen Star was entirely black and shaped like spider legs, adorned with crimson compound eyes. It was disgusting and ugly, but its attributes were quite impressive. After scanning with his wristwatch, Lu Fan exclaimed.
Fallen Star, Triple S Rank, Demonic Break, Spiritual Break, capable of producing arrows automatically, with corrosive, entangling, guiding, and potent poison effects. Healing the damage caused by these arrows requires twice the usual amount of potion.
It possessed three skills: Armor-piercing shooting, which after energy gathering, had a strong armor-penetration effect that almost ignored all defense shields.
Rapid Sniping, which came with a hitting halo; even in high-speed movement, it could continually hit the target with an error margin of less than ten percent.
Explosive Scatter, using numerous arrows to suppress a specific area with shooting and included a knock-back effect.
Besides, the Magic Bow had two special abilities: Grim Reaper’s Gaze, launched by the longbow’s spider-like compound eyes, locked on the target, guaranteed hit, and could perform ultra-long-range attacks with a certain chance of a fatal strike.
Dragon Slayer Armor-piercing Arrow, a sure-kill ability usable only three times a day, came with curse and magic effects, ignoring all types of defense shields and magic and relentlessly pursued the enemy, disappearing only after hitting the target. This skill was highly consuming for the user’s life energy and could cause immediate death if used in a critically injured state.
"Bai Guo, take this!" Tang Zheng threw the Magic Bow to Natural Stupid. He and Qin Yan already had Triple S level weapons and weren’t in need of another. Old Soldier was suited for close combat and couldn’t just hide and shoot arrows from afar. With Lu Fan having the Dual Guns, which were very sharp, the remaining ones were healer Gu Xueqi and Ruan Feifei, the female reporter whose combat ability was insufficient, disqualifying her from using the Magic Bow, and her lighting wasn’t too bad either. As for others who didn’t join the fight, there were obviously not entitled to it.
"Right, Bai Guo can initiate close-range shots while invisible, or charge up and fire an armor-piercing arrow at the enemy, definitely harvesting their lives," Lu Fan had no objections.
Ruan Feifei felt quite disappointed; no one would mind having fewer equipment pieces.
The spider-shaped token was a Triple S level Shield, enhancing the user’s endurance and defense power, slowly restoring vitality – quite a common piece of equipment.
"I’ll just keep this one for Uncle," Lu Fan thought carefully for Tang Zheng, concerned he might give it to Old Soldier or Bai Guo.
"Alright then, I’ll respectfully accept it," Tang Zheng was straightforward, taking out the Light Defense Shield, giving one to Tao Ran and Dong Zixuan each. For him, such gear was already useless and couldn’t even withstand an enemy’s kick.
"Let’s discuss what to do next. Should we find a place to hide?" Xu Biyun looked at the group of newbies, feeling a bit of a headache.
"Given the Silver Trojan’s nature, even if we hide on Mars, they would probably leak the coordinates to the alien species," Sha Ou rejected the idea, constantly displaying his status. The princess in the private room dutifully squatted beside him, massaging his legs.
"What about constantly moving so the alien species can’t find us?" Lin Fachan seldom spoke up.
"That might not work. Doing so would deplete our energy quickly. It’s better to conserve our strength and wait for them to come to us for a fight," Shen Qingshuang rested her chin on her hand, tapping on the computer which displayed data copied from Tang Zheng’s wristwatch.
"If we shouldn’t do this or that, are we just waiting here to die?" The private room princess murmured, which upset Sha Ou and he slapped her across the face.
"You don’t have the right to speak! Get lost," Sha Ou pushed her away, feeling irritable. "A sixty percent mortality rate, even if halved, is nearly forty people!"
"This is the Wealthy District; everyone lives in villas, and there are few pedestrians. Let’s stay here temporarily!" Tang Zheng opened the collected map and pointed to a location in the northwest corner.
"Once we set up defenses, kill any strangers on sight!" Sha Ou laid out a bloody plan. There was no choice, as the alien species could disguise themselves to infiltrate, so they had to adopt this brutal method.
An hour later, the bus reached the villa area unscathed. It housed the wealthiest individuals of the entire city, consisting mostly of major bosses, movie stars, and singers. Besides paparazzi and fans, there were hardly any other pedestrians.
The newbies eyed the vast villa complexes greedily, wishing they could immediately move in.
"Which one should we choose?" Sha Ou held a telescope and looked eager. "How about the one at the end of the street? It has a lawn; if the alien species enter, the open space will be enough to expose their movements."
"He’s the one, there must be some celebrity living inside!" Lu Fan said as he looked at the men hiding outside with cameras, knowing they were the paparazzi.
The bus stopped in front of the iron gate, and everyone jumped out. The paparazzi were confused but raised their cameras as the security guards came out to chase them away, noticing the unfamiliar car.
"Meiqin, Ruan Feifei, you handle the security guards. Old Xu, Sha Ou, take some people and drive away those reporters!" Tang Zheng jumped off the bus and headed towards the iron gate.
"Stop, this is a private residence, no trespassing, or you’ll bear the consequences!" A towering security guard shouted twice, and seeing that Tang Zheng was not heeding the advice, he drew his handgun from his waist.
Ruan Feifei darted forward, chopped the security guard’s wrist with a hand knife to knock the handgun away, then followed up with a knee strike to his stomach, flipping him over.
Ai Yixin also took down a security guard, then dragged him by the collar towards the villa.
"Hey, no photos, you’re invading privacy!" While Sha Ou spoke playfully, his actions were swift. He picked up a rock and smashed a paparazzi’s camera.
"Compensate my camera, or I’ll sue you!" The paparazzi was unhappy and confronted Sha Ou.
Sha Ou grinned, punched the reporter’s nose, causing it to bleed. As the reporter tried to counterattack, Sha Ou sneered, lifted his leg, and kicked his knee.
The reporter fell to the ground, and his initial scream stopped abruptly as Sha Ou’s heavy foot crashed onto his mouth.
"Get lost, all of you, or I’ll kill you." Sha Ou roared as he crushed the reporter’s camera.
Tang Zheng crossed the lawn, faced the rushing security guards, pulled out an anesthetic gun, and shot them all down. Lin Fachan, like dragging dead dogs, pulled them together without needing the group leader’s command, locking these guys up.
As Tang Zheng was stepping up the stairs, Pang Meiqin had already pushed open the door.
In the lobby, the female homeowner, dressed in silk pajamas, heard the noise outside and just then appeared on the second floor.
"Who are you? Security, kick them out!" The female homeowner, not seeing any security, turned and ran towards the bedroom to call the police.
Tang Zheng leapt, covering a distance of over ten meters, chased up the stairs. Just as the female homeowner was about to enter the bedroom, he grabbed her wrist, twisted it around, and controlled her.
"Let go of me, you robber." Tang Zheng covered the homeowner’s mouth, dragged her into the opened room—presumably the bedroom—as it was naturally the best choice to ascertain the woman’s identity.
"Are you a female celebrity?" Tang Zheng saw posters plastered on the wall, dozens of them, and she seemed quite famous.
The female celebrity struggled constantly, fiercely stomping on Tang Zheng’s foot, but to no avail. Her intense struggling and fright caused her to sweat, completely soaking her pajamas.
Tang Zheng pulled out black duct tape from his wristwatch and bound the female celebrity’s hands behind her back.
The female celebrity lay on the carpet, her legs flailing wildly.
"Tie her up, throw her on the bed." Seeing Pang Meiqin at the door, Tang Zheng tossed the tape to her and left the bedroom.
Pang Meiqin, ignoring the female celebrity’s flailing legs, grabbed her by her hair, lifted her up, and after slapping her twice, she finally quieted down.
"You can try to escape, but if I catch you, I will slaughter you, so don’t you dare fail!" After binding the female celebrity’s ankles with duct tape and throwing her onto the bed, she sealed her mouth with tape; only then did Pang Meiqin leave.
"Mu Nianqi, set up some landmines on the lawn. Brother Lin, you take care of the backyard..." Tang Zheng began to assign tasks.
Half an hour later, the villa finally quieted down. Leaving a few people on duty, Tang Zheng declared the disbandment.
"Who is it?" Tang Zheng was in a random guest room on the second floor and was just finishing his bath when he heard someone come in.
"It’s me, Group Leader, we met that day at the KTV," a woman, leveraging her prior brief encounter with Tang Zheng, sought extra help, undisturbed by the physical price, as she was accustomed to making such trades for money.
"Get out!" Tang Zheng evidently overestimated the woman’s integrity; she had even barged into the bathroom.
Tang Zheng had left the door unlocked for a quick escape during the assault, not anticipating it would give the woman an opportunity instead.
"Let me give you a massage, I’ve learned it, and I’m quite skilled!" the woman with blue eyeshadow said smilingly, swiftly stripping off her tight dress.
Tang Zheng grabbed the woman’s wrist, pulled her to the door, kicked her thigh, and booted her out, slamming the door shut with a bang.
