Chapter 1286: Chapter 40: Rescue (3 updates)

In the pre-dawn suburbs, trees were sparsely scattered, casting mottled shadows under the starry sky, like ferocious demons.

Worried that the sound of car engines would alert the werewolves, Tang Zheng and his team began walking from three miles away to the villa. For the Conquerors, this distance was nothing, but the newbies, having traveled for several days, felt exhausted and longed to lie down and sleep in the wilderness.

Little Red Riding Hood rode on a velociraptor, her face etched with worry as she prayed for her grandmother’s safety and kept urging everyone to speed up.

The Conquerors ignored her, holding a map and deliberating on tactics.

"With Bai Guo, who can become invisible, rescuing the hostage will be easy," Teng Yuangxiang pushed forward the naturally stupid one, "We just need to provide support."

"No way, I can’t stay invisible forever, it consumes too much life energy," Bai Guo shook her head in objection, causing Tang Zheng to twitch and sneak a glance at her.

"Naturally Stupid always goes with the flow, even if it means climbing a mountain of knives, she never argues with anyone. What’s going on today?" Tang Zheng’s doubts grew, "And Qin Yan, who always doted on Bai Guo like a little sister, why is she not asking now? Could they be having a dispute?"

"The fewer people, the safer. Sending a small team is enough. With Bai Guo disabling traps and killing security guards, it will be quick," proposed Mu Nianqi, not wanting to hear more time-wasting talk, "Dantai, Old Soldier, you two have experience. Together with me and Tang Zheng, we’ll form an elite squad. Everyone else stays behind to protect Little Red Riding Hood."

"No problem," Dantai nodded.

Five minutes later, the Warhammer team infiltrated within a five hundred meter range and could already vaguely make out the silhouette of the villa under the moonlight.

"Begin the operation!"

At Tang Zheng’s command, five individuals dashed out like cheetahs. Dantai released a Demon Viper whose patterns shifted and immediately blended into the surroundings, disappearing in a flash amidst the weeds to scout ahead. It didn’t take long for information to be relayed back.

A fan-shaped range appeared on Dantai’s wristwatch screen, with some dark red figures indicating the presence of infrared radiation from the security guards.

"Bai Guo, it’s your move!" Dantai clicked a few buttons, sharing the intelligence with everyone’s wristwatches.

Bai Guo nodded and vanished from the spot.

When the werewolf leader heard from his subordinates that Little Red Riding Hood was kidnapped and was told by a scout stationed at the orphanage that they saw a group of people, he guessed they might be coming to rescue the grandmother and immediately fortified the villa’s defenses.

But in the presence of a few elites, such arrangements were insignificant.

Cloaked in camouflage gear and lying flat on the ground, one of the werewolves caught the scent of humans and suddenly turned around but saw nothing.

"Who’s there? Come out!" The werewolf trusted its sharp sense of smell and was on high alert. The wind blew, and footsteps sounded from behind. Startled, the werewolf had not yet turned around when a sharp pain pierced its neck.

Blood spattered on the weeds, soaking several ants. Bai Guo caught the werewolf’s body and gently laid it on the ground, trying to make as little noise as possible, then moved on to kill the next lookout.

Bai Guo was efficient. In a few minutes, she had advanced to the outskirts of the villa.

"What should we do?" Lin Weiguo scrutinized everything meticulously, marking the positions of the monitors.

"Use this!" Mu Nianqi took out a metal spherical ball. After pressing a button, subsonic waves were emitted, disrupting the monitor signals, "Move quickly. They can only last for five minutes."

The five stormed the villa, leaving behind a trail of more than a dozen corpses.

"You guys find a place to hide. I’m going to look for Grandma!" Bai Guo stepped forward but was held back by Tang Zheng and Dantai.

"The villa is so big. How long do you plan to search?" Dantai pointed at the maid’s room, "Just grab someone and ask. Everything will be clear."

By the time Bai Guo caught on, Tang Zheng and Mu Nianqi had already dashed out the moment Dantai spoke. With their IQs, they had already come to the same conclusion.

The maid, wearing a silk nightgown and covered with a blanket, was deep in sweet dreams when suddenly a large hand covered her mouth, waking her in fright.

"Don’t yell, or I’ll cut your throat." Seeing the maid nod, Dantai, who had the dagger pressed against her neck, let go of the hand over her mouth.

The maid took a breath but felt the chilly blade against her neck, sending a shiver down her spine and raising goosebumps all over her body.

"Where is the old lady they brought back?" Dantai stared into the maid’s eyes to see if she was lying, while Lin Wei guarded the door, watching the corridor. Tang Zheng and Mu Nianqi examined the room’s decor, trying to determine if the maid was indeed a werewolf.

"She’s on the third floor, the second room on the left after you turn!" The maid cooperated, "Please don’t kill me!"

"Is the house owner here? Where does the toughest security guard live?"

"The boss came back tonight with a lot of bodyguards. They’re all staying next to his room," the maid said with a trembling voice. "On the second floor."

"Let’s go!" Dantai knocked the maid out with a chop of his hand and had Bai Guo take the lead.

The maid hadn’t sounded the alarm, but Dantai overlooked the werewolves’ hearing and sense of smell. Barely passing through the living room and stepping onto the staircase, the luxurious chandelier on the ceiling suddenly lit up, and the werewolves burst out of the rooms, wielding automatic rifles and opening fire on them.

"Force our way through!" Dantai’s shield sprang up as he aimed his machine gun and unleashed a psychic storm.

The werewolves on the second floor stiffened, though they quickly recovered, but in less than three seconds, the firepower of five people was enough to mow them down back and forth.

Other than the elite werewolves, the ordinary ones were turned into mincemeat, and a shrill alarm sounded throughout the villa.

Lin Weiguo, armed in specialized combat armor, took the lead unhesitatingly and was at the forefront when an elite werewolf charged down, only to be knocked over by his punch.

Tang Zheng also summoned his warrior to pave the way, ferociously charging towards the third floor as numerous werewolves emerged from each room, brimming with aggression.

Circling around Mu Nianqi was a semi-transparent air blade which, driven by her will, spun like a boomerang around Lin Weiguo and sliced through the werewolves blocking the way, leaving limbs and severed arms scattered on the ground.

When the five people reached the third floor, Lin Weiguo burst into the second room only to catch sight of a four-meter-tall red-haired werewolf wielding a curved knife, slashing towards his neck with such speed that he couldn’t avoid it.

Ding, the curved knife struck, sparking, and before Lin Weiguo’s bloodthirsty army spike could leave a wound on the werewolf, he was kicked in the thigh and sent flying.

Tang Zheng had intended to enter next door by knocking down the wall to enter the target room, but with too many werewolves on hand, clearly prepared, any route he took would be intercepted.

Dantai unleashed another mental impact to grab whatever little time they could.

Bai Guo snuck in invisibly, and the Dragon’s Sharp Edge made a cut across the werewolves’ necks, peeling back flesh and spewing blood.

"We found her." Mu Nianqi went to pull her awakened grandmother, then suddenly frowned and shot out an air blade that sliced beside her.

The grandmother could no longer feign her act and leaped up, transforming into a werewolf as she pounced towards Mu Nianqi.

"What do we do?" Bai Guo said with a headache, "Grandma must have been hidden somewhere."

"Just kill them all!" Mu Nianqi, not wanting to waste energy, was ready to embark on a killing spree. "Once the werewolves are dead, Little Red Riding Hood will no longer be in danger, and we might even complete the mission ahead of time."

"Stop!" came the authoritative voice of the leader, and the werewolves with blood-red eyes temporarily retreated into the room, but more were still gathering, three layers in and three layers out.

"Are you Little Red Riding Hood’s bodyguards? Call her out, I have something to say!" The leader was a towering figure, two meters tall, clenching a cigar with a dignified appearance, his hand holding an old woman with a cloth over her eyes.

"Little Red Riding Hood, run! These bastards want to kill you!" The grandmother had just finished crying out when she was knocked over by the leader’s knife hand.

"This is really a lolicon!" Dantai curled his lips and winked at Bai Guo.

Bai Guo activated Gemini Moon Shadow, vanished on the spot, and unexpectedly emerged from the leader’s shadow to slash his throat and sever his hand, striking with lightning-fast precision.

Tang Zheng’s gravity suppression, Mu Nianqi’s air blades, and Dantai’s mental impacts attacked simultaneously.

Caught off guard, the leader was hit, but he still held onto the grandmother as Mu Nianqi’s clone appeared next to him, wielding a knife that injured his armature and snatched the grandmother away, tossing her to Lin Weiguo.

The leader roared, trying to take her back but was intercepted by Mu Nianqi. Seeing their leader wounded, the werewolves attacked in unison, and the entire room was demolished in the blink of an eye.

"Old Soldier, Bai Guo, take grandmother and leave!" Mu Nianqi volunteered to cover the retreat, hoping to have a chance to kill the leader.

"What do you want to say to Little Red Riding Hood?" Tang Zheng couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong, but the escalating slaughter and incessant roars prevented him from calming down to think.

"Bastard, I’ll slaughter you all!" The werewolf leader’s muscles bulged, clothes ripping apart as he unleashed full firepower, landing a devastating punch that sent Mu Nianqi flying.

Tang Zheng activated Hero Mode and blasted a gap, allowing Lin Weiguo to escape first before blocking the werewolves.

Dantai’s eyes flicked around as he pressed down the urge to escape first; if he went back now, he could completely annihilate the Conquerors, but he understood that killing more minions was pointless. Once Tang Zheng died, the others would be no match.

The werewolf leader looked up and roared, the air rippling in waves, tingling the eardrums, but sadly, what would temporarily deafen ordinary people had no effect on these three.

Whoosh, the leader swung his armature, three claw-shaped air blades hurtled towards Tang Zheng, hitting the shield and spraying sparks.

The leader leaped, attempting to pursue Lin Weiguo but ended up being grabbed by the ankle by Tang Zheng and violently swung towards the ground.

Boom, the floor shattered and amidst the billowing dust, everyone from the third floor fell down. Mu Nianqi went on the offensive, ignoring the minions and aiming straight for the leader.

The battle instantly reached a fever pitch, with Dantai hardly finding an opportunity to intervene. In this moment, he truly felt the terror of Hero Mode.

"You go first, I’ll hold them off!" Bai Guo, quick on her feet, received the grandmother from Lin Weiguo who decided to stay back and halt the pursuers.

Bai Guo didn’t hesitate and decisively carried out the order.

"Move in!" Seeing Bai Guo returning with an old woman on her shoulder, Gu Xueqi hastily called out to assist them.

"Grandma!" Little Red Riding Hood cried out anxiously. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to come to Qidian to cast your vote and recommendation. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
