Chapter 1229: Chapter 94 Sniping

Others may not have noticed, but Tang Zheng saw that the armored vehicle was charging straight at them, and as soon as the SWAT team members jumped off the vehicle behind it, they commenced their attack on the bus, clearly premeditated.

Bullets hit the sides of the bus, leaving dents, and the glass shattered. Bang, a Hand Grenade exploded, sending shockwaves that rocked the bus like a lotus in heavy rain.

Fortunately, Liu Guohao wasn’t petrified; he quickly started the engine, jerked the steering wheel, and shot out.

Tang Zheng pulled out a Flash Grenade and threw it out the car window. Bang, it temporarily blinded some of the firing policemen, and the gunshots weakened.

Seizing the opportunity, Tang Zheng stood up, wielding the Howling Reaper and sprayed gunfire. Large caliber bullets whistled out, hitting the fiercest quadrant of their attack like a storm, sending several policemen tumbling down.

One policeman hiding beside the Armored vehicle shouldering an AT-4 aimed at the bus; Kong Licheng saw this and turned pale with fright.

"Change direction, it’s an RPG!" Tang Zheng yelled, firing at the man. The bullets broke through his chest, and as he fell dying, he pulled the trigger. The rocket shell, with a spectacular trail, struck a nearby Supermarket and blew up the wall.

"Get up, open fire!" The Newbie was a bit slow to react to such an opportunity. Tang Zheng wasn’t a god; he couldn’t suppress so many police on his own. Although he tried his best, one of them managed to successfully fire an AT-4.

Boom, the Rocket exploded not far from the bus, flipping it over and dragging it across the road surface for over seven meters, leaving behind scratches and sparks.

The Newbies inside the bus were thrown all over the carriage, crashing into a pile, especially those at the bottom, with broken glass embedded in their flesh, continuous wails of pain ensued.

The policewoman, being ready to engage in combat, was beside Tang Zheng. When the bus tumbled, her entire chest pressed against his face, and her knee slammed brutally into his abdomen.

Tang Zheng gasped in pain. The policewoman’s chest didn’t appear large, but it was unexpectedly substantial, squeezing him to the brink of suffocation—and there was no scent, just the smell of blood.

Ignoring the soft feel of the policewoman’s chest, Tang Zheng pulled her aside, shattered the glass above them with gunshots, quickly jumped out, and using the overturned bus as shelter, resumed his attack.

"Fuck, more are coming!" Tang Zheng saw another policeman pick up an AT-4 and fire a rocket. Annoyed, he sprayed a barrage of bullets at the missile, narrowly managing to detonate it in a close call.

"Zixuan, use your Ability and block the bullets," Tang Zheng called out as he drew an RPG-7 from his Backpack and launched it, flipping the Armored vehicle and grinding three police who were using it for cover into severe injuries.

The ground split into a Y-shaped fissure as magma gushed out like a fountain, obscuring the enemies’ vision.

"Rescue them! Move quickly. Tao Ran, Jing Lan, take care of Song Xin," Tang Zheng called out as he carried the machine gun toward a nearby building, hoping to attract enemy gunfire and buy the Newbies time to escape.

Two Zombies lunged at Tang Zheng, who shot them into shreds before they could get close. The vehicle being destroyed and no route for escape, Tang Zheng decisively turned to assault the policemen’s Armored vehicle.

The remaining forty-plus policemen, realizing their opponents were civilians and not the terrorists reported, and seeing their lack of combat power, thought they had the upper hand and were much relieved. But their complacency was short-lived, as a young man with yellow skin charged out, wielding an MG3 like a wild Rambo, fearlessly counter-attacking.

Even with Bulletproof Vests on, three soldiers were shot in half by the bullets. The policemen, shocked by the sight, concentrated their fire on Tang Zheng and called for air support at the same time.

A Black Hawk Helicopter flew in, holding back from firing due to concern over destroying the Virus reagent carried by the terrorists. But with only Tang Zheng left, they showed no mercy. The triple-barreled machine gun spun, firing bullets that looked like red Fireflies, sweeping towards him.

"Shit!" The moment Tang Zheng saw the Helicopter, he turned and ran into a clothing store. The bullets followed, hitting the concrete, stirring up dust like a poisonous Snake, relentlessly pursuing him.

Crash, Tang Zheng broke through the anti-theft Glass Wall of the display and rolled up, dismissing the charging Zombie and heading furiously inside.

Indeed, the next moment bullets stormed in, collapsing half of the building.

"Don’t fire rockets!" This Helicopter, similar to the one Tang Zheng had piloted, could forgo Hellfire. Just one rocket was enough to be his downfall here.

In the City, the Driver was also reluctant to use heavy Weapons, given it was the property of citizens, and besides, he didn’t believe the young man could survive the collapsed building.

Coughing, Tang Zheng lifted a chunk of Wall that had fallen on him. His Ribs were broken in several places, and through the excruciating pain, while dust clouded the air, he kept running, loading another Rocket shell.

"The target isn’t dead. Continue the attack," the pilot reported as a dot appeared on the infrared monitor. Just as he adjusted the nose and was about to press the firing trigger, he saw a figure emerge from the swirling dust, shouldering an RPG-7 and firing.

"RPG!" The helicopter wasn’t too far from the ground when the co-pilot shouted in panic, and then a rocket shell slammed into the cabin, turning it into a fireball, which plummeted to the ground.

"FU~CK, is this for real?" The policemen were shocked. Taking on a helicopter in a one-on-one? Such a feat was dramatic enough to make anyone’s jaw drop.

"Is this guy a human-shaped monster?" Watching Tang Zheng, covered in blood and dust, fearlessly continue his attack, the policemen were trembling, only to be taken down by another barrage of bullets.

Dong Zixuan and Kong Licheng launched their attack, and Zhao Dongtao wasn’t about to show any weakness—after all, they were armed with Level A firearms, and their forceful effort finally managed to suppress the policemen.

Tao Ran dragged the unconscious Song Xin behind a bus, wiped his wet cheeks, and took out an RPG from his backpack.

"You’re hurt." Tao Ran’s left cheek had a gash with a piece of glass slag embedded in it, which made Jing Lan’s legs go weak as she reached out to help treat the wound.

"It’s nothing, you take cover." Tao Ran didn’t rush into an attack. Instead, she poked her head out, searching for the most valuable target. Luckily, the policemen were distracted by a few of the Powerful Party, otherwise, this move would have likely gotten her a head-exploder.

The policemen had wanted to make quick work of the battle, but their offensive faltered. The zombies, attracted by the sound of gunshots, began to gather around. In this situation, no one could stay calm, especially when one of them was tackled and killed by a Licker, causing the rest to spread their firepower.

"A bunch of trash, it’s our turn to enter." The captain of the Recovery Team from Anlanke Company, with his elite troops in tow, drove a truck right onto the battlefield. The carriage opened and four third-generation Tyrants stood up and emotionlessly started to charge.

A policeman failed to dodge and was caught by a Tyrant’s grips and savagely smashed onto the ground.

"Good chance to kill and grab a vehicle..." Kong Licheng had taken a liking to the armored vehicle. Before he could finish speaking, he swallowed his words and let out a curse, "Fuck, how are we supposed to fight this?"

"Change ammunition, concentrate firepower, take out the one running at us first." Tang Zheng shouldered his RPG and fired, hitting the upper body of the Tyrant. Although its pale cheeks were scorched and shrapnel lodged into its clothes, it wasn’t significantly damaged.

Tao Ran fired a rocket shell, but sadly, it didn’t hit and exploded beside the Tyrant. The six Howling Reapers furiously dumped ammunition, slowing down the Tyrant as it lifted its arm to guard its head.

Boom, Tao Ran fired again, this time blowing off the Tyrant’s arms. Tang Zheng took the opportunity to shoot, shattering one of its eyes, followed by another of Tao Ran’s rocket shells, which blew its head off and left a headless corpse to collapse.

The security captain left one Tyrant to protect himself. He had assumed the police would be tough to handle, so he had sent two to deal with them. But it took less than a minute for the terrorists to kill a Tyrant, throwing off his calculations. He hurriedly adjusted his strategy, deploying two more Tyrants and using soldiers to charge at the police.

The policemen had already lost the will to fight and called for backup, but surrounded by zombies, headquarters could only watch helplessly.

"Focus fire on the one to the right, Dong Zixuan, you handle the one on the left." Tang Zheng started moving towards the bus, he needed someone to help him load the rocket shells.

Common zombies approached the Tyrant and were grabbed and hurled at the bus like meat bombs; before they got close, Tang Zheng blew them up mid-air.

"Anlanke has lousy command!" Hidden inside a Hummer, Ada watched the battle progress, hopping mad. The entire event was her doing, after all, Tang Zheng still carried a canister of the R virus strain, which wouldn’t escape her tracking.

Ada kept her eyes on Tang Zheng, noting he was indeed a cut above the elite soldiers. Could this be the effects of the virus strain? The Doctor had tasked her with retrieving the remaining strains and treating Tang Zheng as an experiment, to stay close and observe if possible, and to capture him if necessary.

Subjects kept in cages often had various emotional issues, leading to experiment failures. The Doctor believed that the living environment could impact subjects, and it was best to keep them in the most natural state possible.

Completely unaware that he was being treated like a lab rat, Tang Zheng fiercely battled the Tyrants. The powerful weapon he exchanged his organs for did not disappoint. Although he couldn’t kill them instantly, it took him an average of two minutes to dispatch a Tyrant, not to mention Dong Zixuan was there, a major killing device. She created a pool of magma, literally scalding a Tyrant to death, leaving only a black residue.

The Recovery Team had killed all the policemen, but they weren’t happy. They knew how powerful the Tyrants were, and watching them being killed made each of them feel as though their hearts were being squeezed by an invisible hand, terrified to death.

The captain tried to flee, but before he could start the engine, he found a handgun pressed against his head.

Ada didn’t waste words; she took out an injector gun and injected the captain in the neck with the potion, then left.

Tang Zheng and his group launched a counter-charge to seize the armored vehicle, and the demoralized Recovery Team, with no captain to lead them, were sent scattering. Just as they retreated to the captain’s truck, a Mutated Creature leaped out and began to massacre them.

"It’s a Mutated Creature!" Kong Licheng was familiar with it; after all, it had killed many a Newbie in the small town.

"Don’t mind it, just run." (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, welcome to qidian.com to vote for recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
