Chapter 1218: Chapter 87: Subway Offense and Defense

"Hurry up and support me!" Lipstick curled the corner of her mouth, filled with disdain. It wasn’t luck; it was just timely intelligence from her teammates. She had known they would take this route.

The Level A AK74’s ability to fire continuously was no worse than a general-purpose machine gun, but Natasha no longer used it. She was worried her teammates would recognize her and expose her identity, so she switched to an ordinary firearm. Yet, her firepower did not decrease, as her ’teammates’ started to exert their power.

The subway had begun to slow down as it approached the station, and the newbies from the Ukrainian team set up machine guns inside the carriage, firing from a distance at the platform to suppress Tang Zheng and his group.

Due to the sudden outbreak of gunfight, pedestrians either hid or fled. The platform was in total chaos. These survivors from Eastern Europe didn’t care about the lives of locals; in their eyes, these people were no different from NPCs, so they shot unconditionally, buying Natasha a chance to escape.

Two pedestrians were frightened by bullets, fell onto the tracks, and were hit by the subway, immediately pulverized into flesh.

"Full firepower, charge, don’t let them get away." Seeing the subway was about to stop, Tang Zheng shouted and took the lead. Bullets whizzed past Natasha and struck into the carriage, causing another bout of chaos.

As the subway doors opened, Natasha leaped forward and darted inside. Since it was computer-operated automatic driving, the subway would only stop for enough time to leave, otherwise it would not have stopped amid a gunfire.

The passengers were truly caught in the crossfire. Seeing the gunfight outside, many died, and they didn’t dare to leave. Watching Natasha charging with a rifle, they quickly dodged to the sides, but it was crowded and chaotic, making it hard to clear a passage.

"Move, get out of the way!" Knowing the strength of her opponents, Natasha cursed fiercely and fired her gun, cutting a bloody path as she hurriedly fled.

Screams continued inside the carriage, limbs flew chaotically, and blood splashed onto the windows; pools of blood also gathered on the floor.

"Charge, kill them all." Rong He bellowed as he sprayed bullets towards the door position. The metal car walls couldn’t stop the large-caliber bullets, punctured with fist-sized holes. The bullets that entered caused irregular scatters, and the passengers who had just survived a moment ago were unlucky again, their bodies torn apart.

Dong Zixuan was somewhat hesitant, but her lips moved, and, in the end, she didn’t say anything.

"Hurry, the subway’s leaving." Tang Zheng had spotted the position from where bullets came on the train, about forty carriages away. He pulled out his RPG-7, glanced through the sight, and fired.

"Dodge!" The Ukrainian group leader saw Tang Zheng shoulder the PRG-7 and immediately yelled loudly to everyone to take cover, while he grabbed Eve’s collar and dragged the young girl back.

The rocket shell hit the car wall, creating a hole. Iron fragments flew, but no one was hurt. The Ukrainians, pretending to be drunk, beat a few passengers, and then there was no one left in that carriage, making room for them to maneuver.

The Ukrainian group leader, a muscle-bound giant over two meters tall, robust and with dense body hair like a brown bear in full force, didn’t want to waste rocket shells, so he swept fire with a general-purpose machine gun instead.

As for Natasha, the team leader just thought she was talented, which was why he saved her, but she had caused quite a bit of trouble, and he decided to give her a serious lesson after escaping.

"You go after that woman." Tang Zheng was still fearless, holding Howling Reaper and exchanging fire with the Ukrainian team leader. This guy had a square face, energetic brown short hair, kept to maintain authority, and a scar across his nose he hadn’t repaired, adding much to his fierce and authoritarian appearance.

Rong He experienced the advantages of powerful firepower, making their opponents duck and cower. Their occasional counterattacks were poorly aimed and posed no threat at all.

"Quick, into the carriage." The traffic police were the first to dash inside, followed by Dong Zixuan and Rong He. The others were a bit slower, with only Zhuo Yijie slightly lagging behind.

The subway had already started moving, but this suicidal man’s courage had drained away. Hiding behind a pillar, dazed and timid like a quail, he thought back to the terrible moment when he had been hit and killed.

"Where’s the spirit you had when you killed?" Tang Zheng roared, took a leap, and dashed into the subway, "If you can’t keep up, you might as well die."

Seeing only himself left on the platform, Zhuo Yijie was scared, sprinted with all his might after the subway, then took a dive forward, fiercely crashing into the carriage, hitting a seat but fortunately cushioned by corpses, painless but soon after his face changed.

There wasn’t a single standing passenger in the carriage, all were corpses and blood everywhere, with only a few survivors, seriously wounded, groaning on the side.

Dong Zixuan had already taken the newbies to chase after Natasha, Tang Zheng quickly followed, worried that they had leaked information, allowing the battle to reach a stalemate. He already had a plan to kill them in his mind.

The passengers desperately squeezed towards the sides, leaving the middle passage clear for the thugs, deeply afraid of being collateral damage. They even dared not call the police, fearing to provoke them.

The survivors from Ukraine had already blocked them, and an exchange of fire ensued with Dong Zixuan and her team. Due to being in the subway, the policewoman’s lava ability was restricted, but she did not give up. Estimating the distance, with a gesture of her right hand, a stream of scorching lava erupted from the ground like a fountain, piercing through the metal floor, melting a basin-sized hole.

The survivors from Ukraine were just startled and not harmed.

"I came up too early," Tang Zheng regretted as he calculated the speed of the car and suddenly fired his gun, shattering the glass, and then jumped down from the seat.

"Are you crazy?" Zhuo Yijie had not finished shouting when he saw Tang Zheng had already jumped down and rolled out on the platform.

The Ukrainians inside the carriage saw Tang Zheng’s actions and were initially puzzled, gaping in surprise almost to the point of dropping their jaws.

"Is this guy an idiot?" a man muttered, baffled.

"No good, this guy wants to come up from behind and attack us from both sides," reacted the Muscular Group Leader, who was not only quick but also filled with admiration. This was not the time when they were wearing protective clothing and had many times the physical fitness. Under normal circumstances, such actions could lead to injury or even death, which would be a great loss. Moreover, without guessing, he knew that only the opposing group leader could take such action.

"So young!" sighed the Muscular Group Leader, without showing any mercy. He fired a barrage of bullets at Tang Zheng, though the angle was poor and the threat minimal, so he decisively shifted his focus to Dong Zixuan’s group.

"Tang Zheng!" The subway passed by, and Dong Zixuan’s group saw Tang Zheng, who had fallen. They all thought it was a mistake.

"Tang Zheng!" Zhao Dongtao was startled, breaking out in a cold sweat as he shouted his friend’s name.

"What do we do now?" Losing their leader, Zhuo Yijie and Zhao Xiong immediately became unnerved and lost their composure.

"Why panic? Even without Tang Zheng, we can still win," said the traffic police officer who had fortunately gotten hold of a Howling Reaper machine gun temporarily, no longer conserving bullets, firing wildly at the opposite side.

With the scenery flying by, Tang Zheng landed with a single hand covering his head and rolled several times. Then, he sprang up and charged toward the subway.

Tang Zheng had a few abrasions, but nothing serious. He didn’t delay for a moment, running frantically toward the subway. He had no time to load his RPG-7, so he aimed his machine gun at the wall of the last carriage and opened fire.

Ratatat, bullets stormed the wall like a tempest, linking more than a hundred bullet holes into one area, followed by the wall breaking down, opening a huge hole.

Likening himself to an eel, Tang Zheng powered through on his legs and rushed inside.

The passengers inside the carriage, relieved that they hadn’t been caught up in the combat, gasped when Tang Zheng arrived, his hundreds of bullets tearing apart human bodies inside the carriage, turning it into a slaughterhouse with a heavy stench of blood hanging in the air.

A woman’s severed calf lay on the seat, along with other scattered chunks of flesh and organs, amidst widespread carnage.

"Sorry about that," Tang Zheng muttered as he stepped over a corpse and charged forward.

"Beard, you go," commanded the Muscular Group Leader, taking measures after Dong Zixuan had used her abilities. His face turned even darker, like ink intensified.

"Watch and learn." Beard was a tall man dressed in a Manchester United jersey, with a coat thrown over but not zipped up, carrying a rifle on his back, looking formidable.

"Hold on, put down your assault rifle, just take a handgun and dagger, blend into the crowd, and wait for him to pass you, then shoot him from behind," the Muscular Group Leader immediately ordered, "Don’t worry, even if you fail, I’ll call someone to back you up."

"Sure!" Beard was strongly convinced of the Group Leader’s strength and left promptly.

Tang Zheng, covered in blood and emanating a killing aura, didn’t need to shout; people inside the forward carriages automatically cleared a path for him.

"Damn, they saw me jumping off earlier, how will they counter this?" Tang Zheng thought of multiple strategies, his hands continuously moving. He took out an RPG-7, loaded it with rocket shells, and slung it over his shoulder.

Each connection between the subway carriages had a small door with a tiny glass window, limiting his view, so Tang Zheng couldn’t see what was happening ahead.

"What if they had someone ambush me from amongst the crowd? What then?" Tang Zheng cautiously considered numerous thoughts. Killing everyone in the carriage wasn’t within consideration, but calming them down a bit by killing a few was achievable.

"Everyone down, move to the sides, all down," said Tang Zheng. He didn’t kill anyone but fired his gun to intimidate them. (To be continued.
