Chapter 1159: Chapter 39: Cannon Fodder and the Tyrant
"We’re saved." said a blonde teenager in a suspender shirt and denim shorts, about seventeen years old, her face lit up with excitement as she reached out to push the bed blocking the door.
"Wait, what if they can’t beat the zombies?" A red-haired young woman grabbed the girl’s hand, shaking her head, "Let’s wait till they finish them off before we go out."
"You don’t think so?" The girl’s face immediately fell.
"Laurie is right, listen to the gunshots, seems like there’s only one, perhaps no more than three people, but outside there are at least sixty zombies. Do you think they can win?" Steven, a tall Caucasian who had previously worked in a gun store and was familiar with gunshots, explained.
The black man, Andrew, didn’t speak but nodded in agreement with Steven’s opinion. They had managed to escape to this spot, relying on Steven’s shooting skills and rescue, after being separated from the team during the chase by zombies, and so they trusted his judgment deeply.
"Alright." Susan pouted her lips, listening intently, then suddenly as if discovering a new continent, exclaimed, "Listen, the gunshots haven’t stopped, nor have they moved away, this indicates they’re fighting, holding their own against the zombies."
"Quiet, do you want to draw the zombies here?" Laurie scolded, the red-haired woman in tight jeans and a large-collared shirt that tightly enveloped her voluptuous buttocks, catching Andrew’s thirsty gaze which he had sneaked several times previously since he’d been a hooligan.
Steven’s gaze, however, was fixed on Susan, taking advantage of the height difference to appreciate her deep chest cleavage. The girl wasn’t wearing underwear, her points protruding; every time she moved, her breasts shook violently, very enticing.
"The gunfire indeed hasn’t stopped," Steven frowned, "This means the other party is strong. No matter what, we must be careful."
"A bunch of nobodies." Tang Zheng opened fire, his MP5K’s rapid rate of fire coming in handy. Bullets whistled through the zombies’ heads.
The zombies fell like wheat sheaved in summer, continuously tumbling down, covering the corridor’s floor, thick blood oozing out.
Tang Zheng emptied his ammo clip, didn’t switch guns but smoothly replaced the clip. During this brief time, the leading suited zombie had already lunged within five meters, its blood-stained teeth clearly visible.
"Running so fast, you could take the championship in the zombie world’s 100-meter dash." Tang Zheng joked to himself as he raised his gun, locking onto the zombie’s head through the iron sight.
A bullet smashed through its nasal bone and pierced the skull, hitting the wall behind.
Tang Zheng’s arm shifted slightly as he continuously pulled the trigger, creating a rhythmic barrage to stop the zombies in their tracks, killing them.
"Seems like the zombies have passed?" Susan peeked through the gap, seeing no zombies passing in front of the window, and mentioned it aloud.
"Push these obstacles away, let’s go out, take the opportunity while they’re drawing the zombies’ attention. If there are few, let’s help. Just putting in a little effort lets us negotiate on equal terms," Steven was a clever man, always seizing the combat opportunities.
The four Americans immediately sprang into action.
"This corridor is packed with so many zombies, they must have been chasing someone, right?" Tang Zheng glanced at a door where the most zombies had gathered earlier.
As the number of zombies quickly diminished, Steven came out and saw them toppled like targets.
"Indeed there are people, are they natives or survivors?" Tang Zheng saw the four huddled figures, judging their identity by their clothes, and left the last zombie to intimidate them.
"Hey, there’s one more." Andrew called out nervously, raising his shotgun ready to kill it.
"Put down your gun!" Tang Zheng aimed at the short black man, his gaze, however, fell on Steven, because Andrew was watching the white man, proving he was the leader.
"Don’t be hasty, we mean no harm." Steven placed his hand on the shotgun, lowering the muzzle, cursing Andrew’s stupidity internally. That kind of movement would undoubtedly provoke an attack. Just look at the zombie corpses on the ground; all had their heads blown off, which shows the excellent marksmanship of the other, and he didn’t want to be killed unreasonably.
"Quick, kill that zombie, it’s going to catch you." Susan was genuinely worried about Tang Zheng, wanting to help but daring not to fire a gun.
"Did he kill all these by himself?" Laurie surveyed the young man at the end of the corridor, who was handsome and well-built, but most importantly, he was calm and collected in the face of the zombie horde.
"Who are you? I’ve never seen you in the laboratory before?" Tang Zheng pretended to be a native, his right hand holding a gun aimed at the four while his left hand pulled out a straight knife, walking towards the zombie.
"What’s he going to do?" Su Han was astonished, "He’s not going to kill the zombie with his bare hands, is he?"
The girl finished speaking, watched as the young man walked up to the zombie, covered her mouth in shock, and then exclaimed excitedly.
"So cool!"
The other three were stunned, feeling a twitch in their eyes as the young man passed by the zombie, suddenly plunging the straight knife into its head, watching the zombie collapse behind him, they were intimidated.
"Answer the question!" Tang Zheng spoke harshly, aiming at Steven, watching their stance with guns, this guy was most skilled, and killing him would make the other three inconsequential.
