Chapter 1117: Chapter 2 Policewoman and Suicider
About a dozen passengers subconsciously turned their heads, glancing at the bench. They saw the homeless man expertly reach out—without getting up, guided purely by feel to take the coin—and thought to themselves that another fool had been duped. Their gaze fell upon Tang Zheng and then swiftly turned away, dismissing him as just another passerby unworthy of concern.
The homeless man pulled back the newspaper covering his head and glanced at Tang Zheng. He assessed his dress, guessing at his occupation and experience, and contemplated whether he could coax some more money from him.
"Thank you!" the homeless man tried to make his voice sound cheerful and assumed an optimistic expression. Leveraging the opportunity to express gratitude, he sat up and struck up a conversation with Tang Zheng, "Young man, you look exhausted. Work must be tough, huh?"
Dong Zixuan, bored out of her mind, crossed her arms and closed her eyes slightly, observing the passengers around her to pass the time while waiting for the subway. Hearing the homeless man speak, she pulled out her mobile phone due to her professional habit as a policewoman and pretended to answer a call, moving behind them.
"Not bad, now even the homeless are using psychological tactics! Typically, after people get tired from work, they want to rest and vent to someone. The homeless man seizes upon this, using it as an in. Just when you respond, he will surely have other methods to keep the conversation going!" Dong Zixuan mumbled to herself. She wore a pair of white high-heels, and while she didn’t turn her head, her ears were pricked up, focusing entirely on the exchange between the two, curious to see how Tang Zheng would handle it.
"Sorry, I don’t need a psychologist!" Tang Zheng didn’t even look at the homeless man directly. The man’s motives were too obvious. He leaned back in the seat, resting with his eyes closed.
"Kid, you’re quite the humorist!" Pfft, Dong Zixuan couldn’t hold back and laughed. She quickly covered her lips and then eagerly turned back to watch the homeless man, only to find him frozen in place, his prepared words stuck in his throat, as if constipated, utterly miserable.
"Yeah, what you need is a girlfriend. How come she isn’t with you when you’re this exhausted?" The homeless man clearly hadn’t given up. After chuckling dryly twice, he continued the conversation.
Dong Zixuan immediately looked at Tang Zheng, waiting expectantly for his response.
"Are you suffering from some disease where you’ll die if you don’t talk? Here, hug that trash can, talk to it all night, and I guarantee you’ll be cured instantly!" Tang Zheng’s face darkened. Having killed quite a few in his life, the fierceness in his bones instantly overpowered the homeless man.
In an instant, the homeless man’s back was drenched in sweat. He felt as though he had been targeted by a raging bear and could be killed at any moment. He hurriedly moved away with an awkward smile, shifting his seat to the other end of the bench.
Tang Zheng noticed Dong Zixuan’s gaze and looked over. The woman was in her early twenties, tall and willowy at nearly 1.8 meters, standing out in the crowd. Her long legs were clothed in black jeans, and she wore a knitted sweater, carrying an LV handbag. Her entire being radiated the vibrancy of youth, out of place against the drab backdrop of the subway platform.
"Hmph!" Dong Zixuan’s mouth twitched upward in a defiance, unwilling to back down. As a policewoman, she wouldn’t allow herself to be intimidated.
"I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you!" Dong Zixuan repeated silently in her mind. Seeing Tang Zheng close his eyes, she flashed a triumphant smile.
She was a confident, cheerful girl, living every day to the fullest. With her oval face, large eyes, and thin red lips, she was undoubtedly beautiful, emanating a dashing elegance, unmistakably the most striking woman on the platform. Various men had already sneaked peeks at her several times, and one young man with dyed red hair had even covertly taken a photo with his phone.
Dong Zixuan, once again bored, took out her phone and began playing Fruit Ninja.
Tang Zheng took a deep breath. Noticing there was still time, he walked towards the vending machine fifty meters away, inserted coins, and bought two cans of soda. As he casually walked back, he furrowed his brow.
A young man in a dark suit and tie stood on the edge of the platform, stepping on the yellow safety line while looking down, occasionally glancing at the dark tunnel. His right hand was in his pocket, his left holding a briefcase, tremoring slightly.
"Are you ill?" Tang Zheng glanced at the others; some were busy with their phones, others resting with closed eyes. No one noticed the young man’s actions.
Tang Zheng walked a few steps, contemplating how to break things off with Sister Xiu Ru. Just as he switched on his phone, Teng Yuangxiang called him. At the same moment, the suited man clenched his teeth and made his final decision, suddenly turning and lunging at the nearest white-collar woman.
The white-collar woman, engrossed in her mobile game, looked up in shock to see the suited man pulling out a folding knife from his pocket. As he pressed the button, the blade, coated with a layer of black oxidation and emitting no reflection like a venomous snake, sprang out and stabbed towards her.
The white-collar woman’s scream came to an abrupt halt as the folding knife plunged into her chest, hitting her heart squarely. The horrified expression on her face froze as she collapsed to the ground.
With a crash, the phone fell and was then crushed under the foot of the suited man, who pounced towards the male white-collar behind her.
The male white-collar desperately retreated; he merely wanted to linger beside the female white-collar, to smell the perfume on her, never anticipating such a calamity because of it.
Seeing the male white-collar backing away, the suited man accelerated his charge, frantically waving the folding knife. The first slash cut across the man’s cheek, splattering blood that sprayed onto several nearby faces, the metallic scent filling the air.
A large amount of blood gushed from the wound and pooled on the floor as the nearby people were splashed across their faces. The male white-collar clutched his neck and fell, convulsing in the pool of blood.
The man in the suit suddenly struck, killing two people in no more than three seconds. Only then did the passengers react, screaming and fleeing in all directions like ants scalded by boiling water.
"Die, die!" The man in the suit was sprinting, the passengers were slower to turn around and retreat, so another woman was unlucky and got stabbed in the back. She fell down as her top quickly soaked with blood. Her companion, overwhelmed with shock and wearing high-heels, didn’t make it two steps before spraining her ankle and kneeling on the ground.
Leaping over her, the man in the suit caught up with her companion and was about to stab her in the cheek.
"What are you doing?" Dong Zixuan, who was playing Fruit Ninja on the side, looked up and saw the man in the suit murdering people, blood splattering, corpses falling, and for a moment she was stunned. After all, she was a new policewoman with just one year of service and rarely saw corpses.
"Stop it!" Filled with a sense of justice, Dong Zixuan didn’t hide but rushed forward, trying to subdue the man in the suit.
Today, after being humiliated by his boss and fired, Zhuo Yijie was unemployed with only eight dollars left in his pocket. Not to mention he couldn’t pay two months’ overdue rent; his credit card was also maxed out by his girlfriend, owing more than twenty thousand. To top it off, he had just received a call from his girlfriend, calling him a loser and breaking up with him, telling him never to bother her again.
"Damn woman, die!" After slashing the face of the woman who had fallen, Zhuo Yijie lunged at Dong Zixuan. He had already decided to commit suicide, but before that, he wanted to take revenge on society. Just now, seeing the beautiful Dong Zixuan, he decided to kill her, so at least he could have the company of a beauty on his journey to the underworld.
"It’s over, what should I do?" Dong Zixuan was very nervous, her mind a mess, forgetting all the tactics she had learned to subdue criminals. As the criminal charged towards her with the folding knife thrusting forward, she could only extend her armature, relying on instinct to block.
She felt pain in her armature, and just when Dong Zixuan thought she was going to die, a can, carried by the wind power, whizzed past her ear and shot towards Zhuo Yijie, hitting him squarely on the forehead and causing him to fall back and roll three meters away.
Gulping for air, Dong Zixuan’s chest heaved rapidly as she instinctively glanced towards the direction from which the can had come. The young man was sprinting towards her like a cheetah, body leaning forward.
"Get out of the way, what are you staring at? Want to die?" Tang Zheng was frustrated. The criminal was right in front of him, and this woman still found the time to be distracted. Of course, it was also not the best time for Teng Yuangxiang’s call to come through; otherwise, he would have definitely subdued Zhuo Yijie immediately without so many people dying.
"Oh!" Dong Zixuan snapped out of it, not retreating but instead charging towards Zhuo Yijie, "Don’t move, I’m a policewoman."
"Attention passengers, the Number 5 Subway is arriving at the station!" The broadcast hints sounded.
After all, Tang Zheng didn’t want to kill anyone, so he controlled his power. Zhuo Yijie wasn’t knocked out and got up from the ground, staggering across the safety line and jumping off the platform.
"F*ck this world!" Standing in the middle of the tracks, Zhuo Yijie spread his arms wide, flipping double middle fingers furiously at the oncoming subway. He yelled out loud and then closed his eyes.
"Stop right there!" Dong Zixuan was shocked and wanted to rush down to save him.
Tang Zheng rushed over and grabbed Dong Zixuan by her shirt collar. Because of the policewoman’s forward momentum, her collar was ripped, revealing her smooth back and the flesh-colored bra underneath.
Bang, there was not enough distance, and it all happened too suddenly for the train to come to a stop. The subway brutally hit Zhuo Yijie.
Dong Zixuan was too close and saw clearly as Zhuo Yijie’s body was flattened upon impact and then got rolled under the wheels, ground into broken flesh like an exploding water bottle, blood and flesh splattering and covering her face.
"Don’t look!" Dong Zixuan was pulled into an embrace, and Tang Zheng quickly covered her eyes.
"Is he dead?" Suddenly blinded, Dong Zixuan was startled and tried to elbow back instinctively while attempting to step on the man’s instep with her high-heels.
Seeing such a death incident, more than a dozen passengers feared getting into trouble and didn’t dare stay longer, turning to run.
"Calm down, control the scene, call 110!" That attack was nothing but a scratch compared to a cat’s claw. Tang Zheng yelled next to Dong Zixuan’s ear and then shouted at the passengers on the platform, "Stop, don’t run."
Most passengers stopped, but three ran even faster.
