Chapter 1103: Chapter 67: Suppression (Three More)
Tang Zheng never considered himself a good person. Entering the Trojan Horse Game, naivety simply wouldn’t keep someone alive. To dismantle the Trojan, he knew his hands would have to be stained with a lot of blood, but he also had his limits. It didn’t matter if the female prison guard was killed, but he absolutely wouldn’t allow the prisoners to abuse her post-mortem.
Tang Zheng fired, piercing the lungs of several prisoners. Just as he was about to carry out a mass killing, Yu Manli took action. She pulled out an AK74 and, after using the butt of the gun to shatter a prisoner’s jaw, aimed at the female prison guard and pulled the trigger.
The crisp sounds of gunshots rang out. Bullets penetrated the female prison guard’s forehead, ending her life and splattering the nearby prisoners with blood.
"Even if you punish me, I would still do it. The more sin points you have, the higher your final score will be. It’s not worth wasting it on a native human," Yu Manli loudly persuaded. In her eyes, all characters in the game were NPCs, flesh and blood didn’t matter, and their deaths weren’t worthy of sympathy.
"Forget it." Tang Zheng certainly wouldn’t scold Yu Manli over a female prison guard. Besides, he needed team members like her who thought of his interests, and he didn’t want to discourage them.
Yu Manli knew she had gambled correctly and was very happy. These small considerations, after all, would change Tang Zheng’s impression of her.
"Sha Ou, lead the way; Manli, take her with you." Tang Zheng grabbed Tao Tao’s arm and pulled her from behind, giving her a push.
Yu Manli had wanted to deliver an elbow strike to take out the prison guard next to her, but unfortunately, he was slippery, sticking close behind Sha Ou and leaving her with no chance to strike.
Tang Zheng pulled out an AK74 and shot at the prisoners’ legs, causing a large group to fall immediately. Just as he was about to retreat, a scene caught in the corner of his eye infuriated him.
Tang Zheng clearly underestimated the prisoners’ shamelessness. Their craziness intensified with the blood drenching them, even after the female prison guard’s death, they did not plan to let her go, with dozens of hands kneading her body.
Supporting himself with one hand on the railing, Tang Zheng had just jumped down to mow down these scoundrels when something unexpected happened.
The dead female prison guard suddenly revived, opened her eyes, widened her mouth, and fiercely bit into the neck of a man nearby. She yanked her head back, tearing off a piece of flesh and swallowing it.
The prisoners were shocked. Several instinctively retreated as the female prison guard surged up and climbed onto one of them, tearing at him like an evil wolf. Because she opened her mouth so wide and used too much force, her cheeks split open.
The female prison guard had demonized. Her eyes were red and bulging, her tongue grew to three meters long, like a sharp sword, and speared into a prisoner’s forehead, penetrating his brain before slamming him away.
Hissing sounds came from the female prison guard’s throat as she crouched bare on top of a corpse. The transformation continued; her skin rotted away and peeled off, her spinal cord with muscles attached burst out from her back, followed by her head, emerging like shedding skin, revealing a newly born demon, its body quickly covered in dark green scales dripping with blood.
The female prison guard opened her mouth, and a red light beam shot out. As she turned her head, it sliced like a sharp military knife, instantly adding dozens of bisected corpses to the prison cell and splattering organs and blood all over the floor.
Tang Zheng opened fire. Bullets hit the female prison guard, sparked upon impact, and were all deflected.
The bodies of a few other prison guards also demonized and commenced their slaughter of the prisoners. However, the situation worsened as the dead prisoners seemed to have been sacrificed. Their bodies writhed, sprouting new demons that swarmed the survivors.
"Tang Zheng, be careful!" Yu Manli yelled, firing down below, but unfortunately, the firearms were weak.
Tang Zheng pulled out the Devil Flame Pistol, and upon firing, a Storm Barrage was launched, tearing open a fan-shaped path of death.
As he fired, demons not yet upon him were killed. These creatures also had intelligence and, sensing Tang Zheng’s formidable strength, immediately leapt to pursue Sha Ou and his group.
A demon smashed into the control room and grabbed the warden, who hadn’t completed his phone call, smashing him to the ground, breaking him into a mess of gore.
Yu Manli pretended it was an accident, an elbow strike hitting a nearby prison guard in the ribs, knocking him into the demon.
"Save me!" The prison guard screamed as his arm was bitten and the demon dragged him down while others swarmed over and devoured him.
"Look after yourself." Out of shooting range, Tang Zheng switched weapons, pulling out the First Bow, continuously drawing the bowstring with his right hand, shooting several volleys of speckled arrows, turning those attacking Sha Ou into a honeycomb.
A Demon Summoning Circle appeared on the ground. The scattered flesh pieces, as if alive, converged toward it. Tang Zheng kept firing, but still couldn’t stop it, and a large demon appeared.
The demon had dozens of vents on its body, ejecting a large amount of acid.
"Damn it." Tang Zheng detonated the Golden Seed, unleashing the Mighty Eagle of Oz, collaborating to kill the large demon. Half a minute later, a Golden Seed remained on the ground.
Now, the prison cell was filled with a thick scent of blood, starkly red, while the corridor outside echoed with deafening cheers and howls, clearly indicating the prisoners had gained the upper hand.
Looking at the handle smeared with broken flesh, Tang Zheng didn’t want to push it and fired a shot.
Bang—a whole iron gate was blasted away, smashing two prisoners who had just reached the door, like flies, splatting them against the opposite wall.
The other prisoners froze, then snarled and rushed to kill Tang Zheng, but before they could act, their bodies stiffened, because they saw what was inside Tang Zheng’s cell behind him.
On the floor, blood mixed with broken flesh flowed out. Some prisoners, seeing this scene, vomited out of disgust, instinctively clearing a path for Tang Zheng. How could such a man be provoked?
"Everyone scram." Tang Zheng held an AK74 in one hand and fired a few bullets, causing the prisoners to suddenly snap out of their haze and hurriedly run away.
Although Tang Zheng and his companions were dressed in police uniforms, the prisoners did not dare to provoke them due to the firearms in their hands. They obediently cleared the way, and those who were foolhardy were crippled with bullets as they passed through a passage, where they encountered Rogers and his team rescuing prisoners.
The two groups eyed each other hostilely but restrained themselves and passed by without clashing.
Tang Zheng phoned Dantai to tell them to relocate, but he was still a step slow.
"Most of the prisoners have demonized," Dantai roared, and then only static noise came from the mobile phone.
"Let’s go too," Rogers was just about to turn around when a prisoner next to him transformed into a demon and attacked him.
"Move quickly, Sha Ou lead the way." Tang Zheng covered their retreat, knocking back all the demons, deliberately leaving them for Rogers as a way to create trouble for them.
Rogers was not about to protect the newbies conscientiously, so a woman who was not paying attention got grabbed by a demon that clutched her arm and yanked her away.
The woman screamed for help, but to no avail, and in the next moment, her throat was bitten open and she was devoured alive.
Rogers was screening newbies, not realizing his ruthless demeanor increasingly detached him further from the new recruits, though they did not show it outwardly.
Tang Zheng fought his way out. If it wasn’t for the fact that killing newbies would cost him points, he would have loved to throw several bombs back their way.
"Let’s go, all the police in the city will probably be here soon," Dantai said as he fired from atop the Armored Humvee, mowing down the demons.
"Burn down this prison, destroy the evidence." Tang Zheng had no time to retrieve the recordings from the monitor, so he resorted to this crude method.
Pang Meiqin released an armored vehicle, loaded it with incendiary bullets, and fired at the prison, flames billowing and rampaging.
Thanks to Pang Meiqin’s excellent driving skills, Tang Zheng and his group managed to evacuate in time; however, Rogers lingered to kill demons for points and got trapped by the police, leading to another fierce battle.
The police couldn’t handle them, and after dozens of corpses were left behind, they let them go. But this time, the Americans had become the primary targets for elimination. The mayor and the head of police demanded their eradication at all costs within two days.
Three days later was the City of God’s Hundred-Year Anniversary Celebration, a grand event that could not be disturbed. Unfortunately, the police’s incompetence let Rogers and his group escape once again.
"Is everything ready? With such a celebration, the Japanese and Americans will definitely come to stir trouble; wrecking it means a lot of sin points," Teng Yuangxiang wanted to be involved in the planning but unfortunately, Tang Zheng and Dantai completely ignored her.
"Tang Zheng is in charge of security; isn’t sneaking a few people in easy? You should focus on your own tasks," Pang Meiqin scolded Teng Yuangxiang, "Don’t meddle in what you shouldn’t."
"I’m only thinking of the team’s best interest," Teng Yuangxiang argued, but seeing Pang Meiqin about to strike, she hid behind Tang Zheng.
"Enough, everyone quiet down." Tang Zheng tapped the table with a pen, marking the critical spots on the architectural plans of the Holy Angel Hotel, "We must control the surveillance room; if met with resistance, we’ll escape through this route."
Tang Zheng then outlined two more escape routes, ensuring everything was under control, and the plan was detailed to the point of madness.
"Liang Mao and Jing Xiang haven’t recovered yet; let them stay by your side," Dantai suggested, not willing to risk their safety after fighting alongside them for so long.
"I’m worried about the demons; they are bound to appear, so we must complete the mission before then," Tang Zheng reminded everyone once again.
"Don’t worry, I’ve got experience," Dantai patted Tang Zheng’s shoulder, "Go check the equipment, eat, and get some sleep."
The group left, but Tang Zheng and Dantai still had to discuss the plan; they were short on people and stretched thin.
"What about recruiting some rash gangster subordinates?" Tang Zheng brewed two cups of coffee and handed one to Dantai.
"That could work, but it would increase the variables."
"The more variables there are, the more chaotic it proves. Isn’t that what we want? When the time comes, you just show your face on the television station, and you’ll definitely be this year’s most brazen gangster," Tang Zheng chuckled, "Do you need me to prepare a speech for you?"
"No need."
The three days passed in a flash; the mass escape from Black Fox Prison caused great panic among the citizens. The police were all mobilized and busy beyond measure, yet hundreds of escapees remained at large. As the situation worsened, the Hundred-Year Anniversary Celebration had to proceed to reassure the public, though security was now quintupled.
