Chapter 1034: Chapter 15 Seizing the Inn

"The public order in this city seems to be in terrible shape," Ruan Feifei said as she held her nose, looking disdainfully at the filthy ditches flowing with sewage.

Not far away in a narrow alley, a gang fight was unfolding. Some poor bastard’s screams went from shrill to deep, finally becoming silent, evidently beaten to death. As for the police, they were nowhere to be seen. If the corpse wasn’t dragged away by vagrants and stray dogs, they would remove it tomorrow, then simply toss it into some dumpster.

The idea of sending the corpse to the crematorium wasn’t nearly as satisfying as extorting money.

"What about those Japanese?" Sha Ou pointed at the sixteen Japanese following behind him. As a staunch chauvinist, he could hardly stand these guys and slapped his right fist into his left palm, suggesting, "How about we give them a good beating? It’s their fault for always thinking about seizing Diaoyu Island."

"Don’t stir up unnecessary trouble. Also, keep your voice down; what if they understand Chinese?" Dantai was frustrated. Sha Ou was hearty but simple-minded. With such a fuss, how could they trick others?

"Sir, please, allow us to act together!" A short Japanese youth suddenly came forward, blocking Tang Zheng, bowed his head deeply, and pleaded to join them.

"Fine, but I expect you not to act on your own and disrupt my plan!" Although the guy masked it well, Tang Zheng still saw dissatisfaction in his eyes.

These proud people wouldn’t willingly submit to others; they were merely trying to quickly make sense of the game, using Team Warhammer to their advantage.

Dantai didn’t remind him, knowing Tang Zheng must have already seen through this. They were merely acquiring more cannon fodder.

"Anna, give us a briefing on Dali Hua," Tang Zheng grabbed a handful of US dollars, stuffing them into Dantai’s hand, teasing him, "Now think of a plan."

"You’re slacking off again?" Dantai smiled back, the confident demeanor of both Group Leaders providing immense reassurance to everyone.

The Japanese were observing them, the Chinese Newbies were also anxious, and the middle-aged woman recognized Tang Zheng. She worried about being held accountable after having fled without even saying thank you.

Yin Zhijian, with his swollen lips, lagged at the back, waves of pain coming through, making him wish he could kill Teng Yuangxiang.

"Damn Tang Zheng," Yin Zhijian redirected his resentment towards Tang Zheng as well.

"Aren’t you his middle school classmate? If you use that to your advantage, your status will definitely rise," Song Tong, not knowing how to strike up a conversation with Tang Zheng, incited Zhijian, "Go and apologize; he will surely forgive you."

This was adding fuel to the fire, but Yin Zhijian calmed down, deciding to bear with the humiliation.

Zhang Heng and Hu Shang huddled together, looking grim. Because of entering the game, their physical wounds had healed, but the mental impact remained.

"You despicable woman, so you had this secret!" Zhang Heng glared at the mature woman, itching to rush up and hit her, "Just wait, I will definitely sell you to Brazil."

Lin Fachan held his Caucasian Shepherd on one hand and his girlfriend with the other, comforting her.

The five bank robbers whispered excitedly among themselves; they liked this lawless city.

Even though Dali Hua was the most luxurious inn in South City, it only had five floors and met the standards of a three-star hotel. Yet, even so, it wasn’t something ordinary people could afford.

"Not many people, which is convenient for us," Dantai said, relieved looking at the peeling paint of the inn’s main entrance and the sparse clientele.

"Stay quiet, now for the task assignment. After entering the inn, Tang Zheng and I will take care of the front desk clerk. Sha Ou, Manli, Liang Mao, Jing Xiang, you head to the back door, don’t let anyone escape. Everyone else, watch the surroundings and standby." Dantai reiterated the plan, glanced at the time, "Manli, you’re in command. Give it five minutes for the commute. Move out."

"Why can’t we join in? Do you think we’re here just to stoke the fire?" one the robbers shouted out, waving a rifle in his hand, "What if they have guns and you go in unarmed? Isn’t that just asking for trouble?"

Dantai glared at him, unleashing a mental blow. The robber collapsed backward as if struck by a heavyweight, and the rest of the robbers were shocked. One of them picked up an 81-type rifle and aimed to shoot, only for Pang Meiqin to leap out, snatch the rifle, and with a swift kick to his chest, sent the man tumbling, rolling out onto Long Street.

"Watch your tone when you speak. Also, newbies have no right to an opinion here," Dantai scanned the group with a cold gaze.

Pang Meiqin exerted force with both hands, twisting the barrel of the 81-type rifle into a tangled mess.

The Newbies turned their attention to Tang Zheng, standing arms crossed.

"Group Leader, we only mean what’s best for the team!" a sharp-eyed thug, who wasn’t stupid and had figured out Tang Zheng was the Group Leader, tried to sow discord.

"Yuanxiang, smash his teeth!" Tang Zheng was equally indifferent, his command sending chills down the sharp-eyed thug.

"Yes, Group Leader," Teng Yuangxiang replied, thrilled by the prospect of winning Tang Zheng’s approval. She stepped forward quickly and started slapping the man’s face.

The sharp-eyed thug, observing his companions’ plight on the main street, ultimately didn’t dare resist and just stood there taking the beating.

Slap, slap, the sound of rapid slaps rang out as Teng Yuangxiang relished the moment.

"I don’t want to see any more attempts to create discord. The first rule that must be followed in this team is unity and love. Only by helping each other can we survive," Tang Zheng said as a matter of routine, knowing that these newbies were definitely harboring resentment.

"Idiots." Pang Meiqin sneered as she watched Teng Yuangxiang smug with petty success. The more Tang Zheng bossed Teng Yuangxiang around, the more she felt he valued her, not realizing that Tang Zheng was simply using her to do the dirty work he didn’t want to tarnish his own hands with.

"Time’s up, move out." Following Dantai’s announcement, Tang Zheng wrapped his arm around Anna and headed for the Dali Hua, putting on a show for the hotel employees. The special agent and Meiqin followed behind.

"What’s the matter, scared?" Tang Zheng asked, feeling Anna trembling.

"No, not at all." Anna didn’t dare to anger Tang Zheng, but she still gently reminded him, "Dali Hua has a background, if you rob it, you’ll be hunted down."

"So, do you want to share in the loot?"

"Yes!" Anna was ready to take the risk. If worst came to worst, she’d just run away after the heist; she was fed up with poverty. "Group Leader, you were so imposing just now, even more so than those godfathers."

Anna leaned into Tang Zheng, who responded by grabbing her by the shoulders and pushing her away.

"You’re the guide now."

Tang Zheng’s voice was cold.

Perhaps due to the rainy weather, the hotel lobby was calm and empty, with only two blonde girls sitting bored at the front desk, playing with their mobile phones, and two security guards discussing the results of yesterday’s horse racing.

The appearance of two people immediately caught their attention, but upon seeing Anna, they lost interest.

"A room, the biggest, most luxurious one." As Tang Zheng spoke, Anna, astutely, placed the bag of money on the front desk.

"Okay." The blonde girl’s eyes lit up and she promptly got to work.

"I’ve just realized I’ve brought too few women. Beautiful ladies, how many waitresses do you have here? Are they interested in making some extra money?" Tang Zheng picked up a stack of bills and stretched out his hand, handing it to the receptionist.

"The three of us aren’t enough for you?" the woman flirted with a suggestive wink.

"Too few, call them all out." Tang Zheng took another stack and handed it to another woman, "Even if I’m not satisfied, I’ll still leave a tip."

The two women exchanged glances, picked up the main desk phone, and called their colleagues. Blocking someone’s chance at making money and getting found out later would mean nothing but trouble and arguments.

Upon hearing there was money to be made, within less than a minute, five more waitresses came downstairs one after another.

Tang Zheng waved his hand in a friendly greeting, smiling delightedly; apparently, a simple dispersal of cash had lured them out.

"Boss, your body is so great!" a woman squeezed up against him.

"Is everyone here?" Tang Zheng inquired.

"Two are missing, but they’re decent folks; no amount of money would get them, unless you force them." The woman, her eyes fixed on the US dollars, cooed, "Boss, I want some too!"

"Good, now keep quiet. I hate screaming; don’t force me to get rough," Tang Zheng warned, noting the waitresses’ puzzled looks, then shrugged his shoulders and pulled out his handgun with a nonchalant expression, "The robbery begins!"

A timid waitress completely lost control of her mouth, her complexion paled, and she was about to shout.

Smack, Tang Zheng reached out and pinched her cheek, silencing all sound.

"Tsk tsk, not behaving, are you?" Tang Zheng waved his gun, pointing it at the first receptionist who had responded, "Please find me the hotel’s guest records!"

The waitresses looked for help from the security guards, only to find they had already passed out on the floor, one woman was dragging them by the collars into the security room, and another handsome man walked over, wiping his hands with a white handkerchief.

"How many guests are there?" Tang Zheng flipped through the records and asked, "Answer correctly, and there’s a reward."

"Eight suites rented out, the exact number of people is unclear," the first blonde woman with US dollars stuffed in her chest answered quickest.

"Good, take a stack for yourself." Tang Zheng’s cash-throwing strategy worked; the waitresses calmed down and even seemed willing to cooperate.

Anna, holding the money bag, was frustrated, but she didn’t dare to refuse.

"The citizens of the City of God are really without principles, aren’t they?" Dantai, disappointed at how easy the hostage-taking was, remarked, "Ladies, any chance you could panic a bit?"

"Sir, if you’re scared, we can help you relax," a waitress teased Dantai.

"Enough, turn around and line up, head upstairs." Dantai frowned, taking Tang Zheng’s handgun. He intended to confine these women.
