Chapter 1008: 54 Chapter Combat Pandora
The mini nuclear bomb explosion nearly destroyed everything around the elevator platform, the metal floor was uneven and almost disintegrated. Under the scorching high temperature, it began to melt, which only added to Pang Meiqin’s difficulty in reaching the bottom of the hangar. As for the radiation dust that clung to everything, it was the least of her problems—after all, the bodies of Conquerors were strong and could resist it for a considerable time.
The lighting fixtures were also ruined. Pang Meiqin took out a tactical flashlight, tied it to her hand with a cloth strip, and the xenon bulb emitted a blue beam of light. In the dark starship hangar, she resembled a lone traveler.
The elevator platform was broken, but it didn’t stop Pang Meiqin’s determination. She took out her mountaineering rope, tied it to a warplane, put on a safety belt, and started her descent using a descender.
Due to her broken legs, her center of gravity was unstable. She nearly couldn’t control her balance and the pain severe enough to cause a heart attack surged like sea waves, constantly battering her brain and almost suffocating her. But she persevered and, after descending to the third floor, she pressed the detonator, setting off all the bomb traps she had laid.
Ai Yixin’s three-person team suffered another casualty. The tattooed man, because of his abilities, couldn’t escape and was entangled by the Camel Bugs. Several Blade Matriarch Bugs caught up with him and cut him into pieces, devouring him completely. Tao Tao turned into a fluid state, while Ai Yixin, the Platinum Queen, was surrounded by the swarm of insects. When the explosion occurred, it killed all the bugs in the passage.
Ai Yixin’s equipment was excellent, and coupled with her defense-type ability, she completely avoided the blast. Tao Tao was less lucky; she was seriously injured. The homemaker hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn’t abandon her, helping her to escape together.
"Thank you, Sister Yixin," Tao Tao murmured with her dry, cracking lips, moved to tears.
"Don’t talk, conserve your energy." The green dots on the radar suddenly turned red, baffling the homemaker, but she was decisive and took another path. After all, the explosion had killed many of the insects, significantly reducing the danger.
Arriving at the bottom level, Pang Meiqin gasped for breath to regain her strength while shining her flashlight around. It was because of the decreased number of bugs that the beautiful leg stewardess had chosen this place as her second stronghold. Now, it seemed that decision inadvertently helped her greatly—if several Camel Bugs had appeared, they could have taken her life.
The beam of light moved, illuminating the wreckage of the fighter jets and some debris that was still burning, providing a dim light. Pang Meiqin crawled out every ten meters or so, took out a glow stick, snapped it to light it up, and threw it out. Minutes later, the hangar’s floor resembled a night sky filled with twinkling stars, shining with a lonely beauty.
"I can’t find it!" Pang Meiqin laughed bitterly. How could Yao Feng survive the nuclear explosion with his shabby equipment? Just as she was about to give up and find a place to hide and heal, she was drawn to some faint noises.
Shining her flashlight in the direction of the noise, Pang Meiqin saw Major Qin-Hegelith. Her lower body was severed at the waist and also blown away; charred viscera were even visible. An arm holding Hell’s Song explosive arrow gun lay beside her. The rest of her body was also dirty and covered with wounds and black burns. However, she was still conscious, clenching the Demon Ripper and crawling towards Pang Meiqin, her instinct telling her to kill her adversary.
Pang Meiqin’s mouth twitched, surprised at the other’s tenacity. She quickly took out her heavy magnetostorm rifle, wanting to unload a barrage of fire at her, but nothing fired—the clip had long been emptied. In a flurry, she started to reload.
Major Qin crawled faster. Realizing she couldn’t reach her target in time, she raised the Demon Ripper, intending to throw it.
"Die!" Pang Meiqin fired, but Major Qin astonishingly used the Ripper to block the incoming magnetic storm balls.
The beautiful leg stewardess threw out a bundle of tactical hand grenades, and the projected firepower finally suppressed Major Qin. She was truly frightened by the strength of this stellar soldier.
It took a full three minutes of continuous firing to kill Major Qin. Pang Meiqin looked at the ruined body and sighed in relief. She struggled over, picked up the Demon Ripper, and paused. Major Qin had actually left behind three pieces of equipment.
Aside from the assault explosive arrow gun Hell’s Song nearby, her power armor had also remained, and there was a test tube next to it, filled with a red liquid that radiated a strong life force under the pale blue light.
The combat pandora, SS level, a rare potion, obtainable only from the mightiest of stellar soldiers, a special class of genetic primer. After ingestion, it remodels the body from its foundation and provides enhancement. It activates all the cells in the body and increases the regeneration and attack power which will gradually improve during future battles, gifting the user an energy far beyond ordinary genetic soldiers, aimed at creating a warrior king of war.
The magic of this potion lies in its unlimited evolution—as long as the user’s willpower and body can withstand without collapsing, they will only grow stronger!
Note: As an experimental sample, the potion is domineering and unstable. After use, rejection reactions may occur periodically, particularly severe in Seed Ability Users. Please use with caution.
Pang Meiqin laughed bitterly. Finally obtaining an SS-level potion, only to find it had side effects. However, wanting to survive, she had no choice. She pressed the protective stopper and guzzled it down.
A bitter taste, like that of coffee, spread across her taste buds. As her stomach began absorbing the potion, Pang Meiqin’s body convulsed as if electrocuted, breaking out into a profuse sweat, her face turning pale in an instant. She felt as though she was thrown into a meat grinder, every cell being squeezed, groaning, wailing...
Her stomach was churning. Pang Meiqin kept vomiting, in agony, she lay on the ground, banging her head against the floor, wishing to pass out. But the potion’s effects had kicked in—the immense regeneration and resistance kept her conscious despite the indentations she made in the floor with her head, her face bloody.
"I must survive!" After enduring a grueling five hours, Pang Meiqin almost collapsed, but ultimately, she held on. Lying in a pool of sweat and blood, she was weak, but feeling the warmth of the Demon Ripper in her hands, she smiled.
The Demon Ripper, SS level, a three-meter-long chainsaw sword capable of Demonic Break and Spiritual Break and with the thunderous roar of its motor, could easily slice through any SS-level defense. Its mission was to slaughter all organic beings, note that its attack power might not be strong, but its ability to breach defenses was definitely in the top five among all SS-level cold weapons.
Hell’s Song, S-class firearms, could use a variety of special effects bullets, boasting immense power!
After storing them away, Pang Meiqin picked up the power armor.
Angel of Death, S-class, psychic armament, currently damaged, but once repaired, could be fitted with a variety of attachments and external weapons. It came with an energy shield, integrating offense and defense.
"I can’t rely on luck, I need to find a place to hide first!" The spoils of war were bountiful, but whenever she thought that Yao Feng had traded his life for them, Pang Meiqin felt a pang of sadness. However, she quickly pulled herself together, crawling to a corner. She had to hide and wait for the game to end.
"Tang Zheng, I will be your sword and shield. My feelings for you, won’t be weaker than those of Li Xinlan and Qin Yan." Pang Meiqin was not satisfied—why couldn’t she pursue happiness? What did other people’s attitudes matter? As long as Tang Zheng treated her well, that was enough.
...
In a residential area near the bridge, Tang Zheng and his group were resting. Perhaps because of Tong Ping’s death, Su Han’s camping ground did not join the Warhammer Team but instead took over a restaurant.
"The Instant Noodle Team is all beaten up, and yet they’re still so arrogant, it’s infuriating." Teng Yuangxiang sat beside Tang Zheng, complaining on behalf of the group leader, "In my opinion, we should take the opportunity to get rid of them, a Fourth Order surely has good equipment."
Dantai was completely sunk into a sofa, sipping a fragrant cup of coffee. Hearing this bloody suggestion, he raised a thumbs-up.
"Is it wrong though? The law of the jungle prevails here, survival of the fittest. If they’re not in the same team, they might harbor ulterior motives." Teng Yuangxiang was more tactful, not daring to clash with the deputy leader, she spoke respectfully while persuading, "What if they recover from their injuries and turn against us? They are Fourth Order after all."
"Hey, are you underestimating Tang Zheng?" Lu Fan was not pleased.
"No, that’s not what I meant." Teng Yuangxiang argued back, playing the politician, trying to act as a strategist to increase her importance in the team. It was a pity that everyone ignored her.
Given the Silver Trojan’s evil taste, it wouldn’t be surprising if it ended up creating a scenario where only one team could survive. However, Tang Zheng still decided to hold his forces back because, based on their current strength, the Warhammer Team would absolutely crush them, and there was still that red-clothed woman to deal with.
"That red-clothed woman hasn’t shown up yet, should we come up with a plan to lure her out?" Qin Yan was worried about another issue. Having a Fourth Order powerhouse hiding in the shadows, ready to launch a stealth attack at any time, was enough to make anyone feel like they were sitting on pins and needles.
"Definitely." Dantai nodded, then took action. But after six days, no matter what they tried, the opposing party just wouldn’t show themselves. Their patience was admirable.
In the meantime, the two sides had encountered swarms of insects six times and had been attacked twice by punishment troops, surviving without loss of team members.
"We don’t need to ask, the red-clothed woman is planning to make her move at the last moment. This way, the week’s time limit will expire soon, leaving us with no time to catch her." Jing Xiang suddenly understood.
"You just figured that out?" Lu Fan shook his head. Jing Xiang was slow, Bai Guo even more so, unable to discern the obvious.
"With so many of us, is she really that confident she could snatch the mission items?" Xu Biyun questioned and then exclaimed in shock, "She couldn’t be using some method to monitor our team all this time, could she?"
"Heh, no wonder Su Han didn’t take the mission items when he gave them to the group leader." Yu Manli praised inwardly. Tang Zheng had obviously thought of all these things—wait, that’s not right. If the other party was monitoring the team, they could hear everyone’s conversation. Why didn’t Tang Zheng and Dantai stop it? They were so brazenly exposing the location of the mission items, oh, they were planning to have the red-clothed woman fight Su Han.
"A bunch of treacherous guys!" Ruan Feifei glanced at Tang Zheng and Dantai, only coming to the realization after Yu Manli’s comments. Then she felt depressed. Being with these people was making her feel too inferior. Thankfully, they were teammates. Otherwise, who knows when they might have been betrayed. (To be continued.
