Chapter 1003: Chapter 51 Team Annihilation
On the screen, the two red dots that had been moving at a steady pace suddenly sped up, clearly signifying that they had detected Tang Zheng and his team’s presence and were attempting to shake off the pursuit of the Warhammer Team.
"Chase them quickly, don’t let the cooked duck fly away." Xu Biyun was exhilarated, finding the feeling of robbing a burning house too delightful.
"There’s no time to go around, Dantai, send an unmanned Beetle Assault Vehicle to assault." Tang Zheng was worried that the enemy might have planted bombs along the path, so he could only adopt this strategy.
"During the impending confrontation, I’ll entangle the strongest one. The rest of you concentrate on killing the other one." Using the movement of the red dots, Tang Zheng estimated the time of the enemy encounter while formulating tactics.
"Understood!" The Conquerors responded in unison.
"How do we distinguish which enemy is stronger?" Bai Guo naively asked.
"Once we encounter them, you can generally tell from their weapons, equipment, and even their expressions and demeanor," Tang Zheng laughed, "Of course, if I choose the wrong one, you’ll have to suffer a bit."
The team’s atmosphere instantly lightened; the Conquerors knew Tang Zheng was joking. With his level of skill, such a mistake was impossible.
The two Koreans, riding in a Beetle, were fleeing for their lives.
"Damn it, a gang wanting to pick peaches." Kwon Tae Hyun, severely injured, spat out a mouthful of blood as he looked at the dense red dots on the radar, "Come help me bandage the wound on my back."
Jin Anhui slapped a First Aid Kit onto her abdomen and frowned slightly in dissatisfaction, "There are only two of us left. We should be working together even more. Why are you yelling at me?"
"What? Feeling defiant? Even with my injuries, I can crush those pursuers!" Kwon Tae Hyun was as conceited as ever, and the near-annihilation of his team hadn’t awakened him to reality.
"Can’t you learn from this? If we were more cautious, none of this would have happened." Jin Anhui was furious, feeling miserable to be part of such a team, "In the past, you could dominate others with your level, but now they are no worse than you."
"Once I’ve recovered, I’ll slaughter them all," Kwon Tae Hyun, utterly dismissive of any advice, impatiently said, "Stop nagging and start treating me."
The previous team battle had claimed the life of the Third-order Lipstick Girl as well, but the Instant Noodle Team didn’t come out unscathed either. Lipstick Girl’s deadly final blow took out the inattentive Tong Ping, heavily injured Lin Chen and Zeng Fanghai, while only Su Ameng managed to teleport away in time.
With Su Han lying critically wounded, the Instant Noodle Team was utterly crippled.
"To have this many group members still fighting, the opposing Conquerors must be formidable. I must find a way," Jin Anhui, a flexible person with no sense of belonging to the team, prepared to use Kwon Tae Hyun as bait, planning her escape, "He’s Fourth Order, the largest bounty on killing him."
Finally, ten minutes later, the Warhammer Team caught up with the Koreans at an elevator platform. All bullet nests opened up, launching rocket shells.
"Slow down! Driving so fast, you’re rushing to your death," Jian Fan yelled, alerting the tense newbie driver, who made a mistake and slammed on the brakes.
With a screech, the bus came to a sudden halt, and the twenty-some newbies, due to inertia, nearly fell over.
Kwon Tae Hyun’s Beetle, sprinting through the explosions, unfortunately only managed to make it a hundred meters before it had to stop. The vehicle’s quality couldn’t withstand the continual onslaught; a mechanical leg was blasted off.
"Attack, Bai Guo, go invisible." Following Tang Zheng’s command, the five members, already armed with Hellfire, sprang into action.
"Tough enemies!" Jin Anhui, following Kwon Tae Hyun out of the cockpit, saw four Power Armors shooting towards them like meteors, nearly scaring her out of her wits. Those were SS-Class Items.
"What’s there to panic about, can’t you see they’re all damaged? They’re just for scaring people," Kwon Tae Hyun said with disdain, although deep down, he was filled with envy and resentment. He would kill to have such high-quality equipment.
"Group Leader, kill them and take their Power Armor!" Jin Anhui bellowed, revealing Kwon Tae Hyun’s identity in the hopes of directing the enemy’s attention towards him, while she put all her effort into fleeing. She knew she had no chance in this fight.
"That woman is trying to run," Lin Weiguo shouted a warning, and Dantai obviously spotted this as well; as he fired rocket shells and Impact Beams, he also unleashed a Mental Impact.
Tang Zheng and the others fired in unison, causing a series of explosions in the passage. The flames whirled, and although the two Koreans were of high ranking, their equipment was lacking, possessing only a Defense Shield and Thunder Shield. Though their bodies were protected, they appeared extremely ragged.
Even though the enemy was heavily injured, Dantai Zongqi’s Mental Impact had little effect on Kwon Tae Hyun, who activated Hero Mode with a savage laugh and threw a punch at Tang Zheng, who had rushed directly at him, too fast for him to escape.
"Explode!" Blood mist burst from Tang Zheng’s body as he entered Third-order State and activated Gravity Suppression, determinedly exchanging blows with Kwon Tae Hyun.
Qin Yan and Dantai flew past Tang Zheng, colliding with Jin Anhui.
The Korean woman released her Clones to confuse their vision and try to intercept them. Her true body, meanwhile, made a mad dash for the fork in the passage fifty meters away, knowing she could definitely escape using her abilities once she reached it.
Dantai exploded with energy, the mental impact washing over the Korean like relentless waves, battering his nerves. Qin Yan flew in, swinging the chainsaw knife in wide arcs and slashing towards Jin Anhui.
Jin Anhui’s horizontal blade danced a snowstorm of strikes in her hero mode, but being at the same third-order and unharmed, she was steadily suppressed.
"Looking down on me?" Lin Weiguo soared past Kwon Tae Hyun, hurtling straight towards Jin Anhui, which the usually conceited Kwon Tae Hyun found hard to accept, especially seeing that Tang Zheng was only third-order as well.
"Hmph!" Tang Zheng snorted, deploying all his shields to block the Moon Blades unleashed by Kwon Tae Hyun, then launched a punch at his forehead.
Kwon Tae Hyun barely dodged when he felt a gust of wind from behind. The warrior appeared, a warhammer thundering down. After he dodged, the hammer smashed into the floor, creating a huge dent.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, Tang Zheng’s Moon Blades flew out, tearing through Kwon Tae Hyun’s shield. A clone appeared, locking around the Korean group leader’s waist in a bear hug, followed by a flip backwards, slamming him to the ground with a German-style back suplex.
Daylily appeared, fingers flicking a rapid-fire volley of golden light beams to bolster everyone’s condition.
The warrior moved in for the kill, but Kwon Tae Hyun dodged. However, he was soon caught by Tang Zheng, who subjected him to a brutal beating. The gravity suppression combined with the severe injuries restricted his movements.
But even in hero mode beastification, Kwon Tae Hyun’s resilience to blows was still formidable. When he found an opening to counterattack, he could crush armor, tearing off a chunk of Tang Zheng’s flesh and skin.
Jin Anhui was stopped twenty meters away by Dantai’s explosive mental blast, as a horde of white ghosts howled out and struck her, exploding and shattering her shield.
Qin Yan canceled Hellfire, her body dissolving instantly, sliding across the ground. In a blink, she appeared beneath Jin Anhui, unleashing dozens of energy spears.
Badly wounded, Jin Anhui was slow to evade, her left calf impaled. Just as she clenched her teeth, preparing to flee, three Moon Blades suddenly shot out. The Korean woman, startled, conjured a clone to shield herself.
Bai Guo arrived with the Dragon’s Sharp Edge and launched the Gemini Moon Shadow. Her clone wielded the insect bone curved knife, coordinating an attack on Jin Anhui. The Korean had not anticipated an invisible assassin with such a high rank, and she was promptly wounded.
Qin Yan and Dantai’s extensive combat experience quickly capitalized on the situation. Qin Yan’s liquefied form reappeared on the ground where Jin Anhui fell, stabbing out with energy spears.
The Korean woman was like falling into a jungle of spear stabs, pierced through, drenched in her own blood,
Dantai and Lin Weiguo moved to finish her off but were entangled by her clone. Bai Guo was in the same situation. However, Qin Yan alone was enough to kill her. Morphing back to human form, she burst from the ground, the Tang Sword thrusting up from below and piercing through Jin Anhui’s skull.
Jin Anhui fell in battle.
Li Xinlan and Lu Fan, not wanting to let this foe escape, had set up an ice wall and sand barrier at the crossroad. Unfortunately, it was unnecessary. Xu Biyun’s puppet had just appeared beside Kwon Tae Hyun when he smashed it with a punch. Ruan Feifei’s lightning took effect, though Tang Zheng also got zapped by a stray electric arc.
Yu Manli wouldn’t dare slack off, afraid of being reprimanded, so she fought with all her might. Unleashing Dragon’s Strength, she was unfortunately not skilled in explosive hero mode, and was sent flying at first contact. Had she not had a shield, she would have surely coughed up blood. Jing Xiang and Sha Ou faced the same plight, unable to withstand even a moment together.
Shen Qingshuang, being support-oriented, had no choice but to watch helplessly without the ability to attack. Gu Xueqi readied three little phoenixes at her fingertips, always prepared to fly out and heal her teammates.
"Go help Tang Zheng," said Dantai, seeing Tang Zheng fighting with full firepower, yet still unable to take down the severely wounded Kwon Tae Hyun, who was even suppressing him. He sighed at the impressive might of the fourth order.
With several core fighters joining the fray, the balance of victory began to tilt.
Kwon Tae Hyun, seeing no fourth-order opponents, planned to take Tang Zheng and other ’small fries’ down with him despite his severe injuries. He presumed that their team would panic and scatter with more deaths. However, he overestimated himself. Tang Zheng’s inexhaustible abilities inflicted great discomfort in the fight, an incautious move could easily expose him.
"Troublesome." Faced with the fearless Tang Zheng, Kwon Tae Hyun wanted to run, but found himself entangled beyond escape.
"Restrain his movements," Tang Zheng roared, swinging Yukimaru ferociously.
Dust-like sand ropes, serpentine in nature, wound around Kwon Tae Hyun’s feet, only to be torn apart almost instantly. More sand dust scarabs clambered onto his body.
The matron’s frost spear went on the offensive, though the tight space of the passageway made it easy to cause friendly fire. However, Dantai and the others joining the fight turned the tide.
"Bai Guo, invisible, sneak attack," Tang Zheng shouted, baiting Kwon Tae Hyun. The presence of an unseen enemy split his focus and sure enough, the next moment, he was struck by Qin Yan.
Dantai’s mental blast came again. Lin Weiguo and the warrior played the role of meat shields, frequently swapping positions, blocking Kwon Tae Hyun’s solid smashes for their teammates, cornering him. Tang Zheng’s gravity suppression complicated matters for him but not his allies.
Thump, Tang Zheng’s clone finally plunged the Yukimaru into Kwon Tae Hyun’s chest. Bellowing in rage, Kwon Tae Hyun swung a punch that snapped the clone’s neck at a grotesque angle, killing it. However, his fellow fighters also plunged their cold weapons into his flesh. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to recommend and vote for it on Qidian.
