Chapter 322: Looting

After everything was set, the new clone Xiang Yu took the demon tower and walked out of the spirit vein.

He thought to himself that it was the first time he was going out in a while. Aside from collecting the treasures, he had also received a mission from the Empress. It was one of the things they had discussed before on how to deal with the demon devouring the world.

Xiang Yu was going to collect the treasures across four continents.

He wasn’t going to go to the central continent as it was too dangerous. The plan was that, as he collected all the treasures and resources, he needed to also find each demon flower in each continent and note the location. He didn’t need to do anything for now, just noting the location. If he were to do anything blindly, the demon might notice and just eliminate the problem.

With that in mind, Xiang Yu stepped out of the sect barrier.

As he did, he was surprised to find that the outside world had become completely dark. Well, it didn’t affect much for high-level cultivators like himself but still...

Xiang Yu wondered how the mortals were faring and shook his head. Being a mortal in a cultivation world was really dangerous, life could be going well and then all of a sudden, the world is ending and there is nothing you can do about it.

He let out a deep sigh. If he hadn’t received the system, that would be his life now.

Xiang Yu broke through space and disappeared.

His first target would be the southern continent as it was the closest to the eastern continent. From there, he would go to the western, then northern, then circle back to the eastern continent. There was a reason he didn’t start with the eastern continent: the demon first appeared in the eastern continent. If it caught him snooping around, he didn’t know if he would be able to survive.

Although he didn’t mind the clone being destroyed, he really didn’t want it to be destroyed and have nothing to show for it. It was best if he collected resources from all the other continents first so that he could recall a storage tower full of resources even if he encountered trouble. Although the demon was probably able to quickly go to the other continents, Xiang Yu believed it would probably pay more attention to the eastern continent.

...

With his Void Realm physical strength and constantly breaking through space, Xiang Yu was able to reach the southern continent in just a little over an hour. He could’ve gotten there even faster, but he was so cautious in his movements even whilst being a clone, wiping his traces and going in circles to ensure he wasn’t being followed.

When he arrived, he quickly moved to the places he knew the treasures were, collecting them just as quickly.

For herbs, he would carefully extract them and place them in prepared containers before putting them in the tower. The process was quite delicate as some of the rarer spiritual herbs would lose their potency if handled roughly or exposed to the wrong thing.

For things like minerals, he would scan with his divine sense then punch a hole through the earth and extract all the minerals.

There were some treasures that he didn’t take though. These were the sorts of treasures that were stored in trial areas or some sort of secret inheritance grounds. Xiang Yu wasn’t interested in receiving some sort of inheritance and didn’t want to waste time on a trial so he let them be. Still, these were on the lower end and the ones in the open were the majority.

Another strange thing he did was collect spirit veins. That’s right, he would uproot spirit veins and carry them with him. He had the thought that he might be able to upgrade his own spirit vein by feeding it these spirit veins instead of his resources, and after asking the Empress, she had confirmed that it was indeed possible.

The process of extracting a spirit vein was kinda similar to extracting herbs. When you really think about it, a spirit vein, at its core, was just a high level spirit plant.

The spirit veins that Xiang Yu came across were just low and mid-grade. Although there were some high-grade ones, they were mostly being used by some local powers and he didn’t want to antagonize them, so he let them be. This was the same for all the other treasures that were in use by others, Xiang Yu didn’t steal them from the original owners.

After he was done with the southern continent, he quickly crossed onto the western continent and did the same thing. After that, it was the northern continent.

Xiang Yu was quite impressed by his catch as he crossed the sea, returning to the eastern continent. He thought to himself that with these, he wouldn’t mind it even if he couldn’t get anything from the eastern continent.

...

Liu Feng held Li Mei’s hand as they ran through the forest.

Liu Feng thought to himself that after separating with his sect to hunt for the immortal treasure, he had come across Li Mei who was being ganged up on by demons. Although he didn’t want to associate with her as all the women from the Li family seemed to have a screw loose (especially Li Yao who didn’t seem to have them at all), he had no choice but to save her as she was the grand elder’s sister-in-law.

As he moved, he thought to himself that they should be fairly close to the sect now.

As he thought of this, he suddenly felt a huge pressure descend upon them. The two were forced to the ground, coughing up blood. The air seemed to compress around them, making each breath a struggle. Even the earth beneath them cracked under the weight of the spiritual pressure.

They raised their eyes to see a woman, no, a demon, descending from above.

"I’ve been searching this entire area since yesterday but I still haven’t found anything about the girl with the heavenly dao body," Tianling thought aloud as she descended to Liu Feng’s level.

"A dragon?" she spoke in surprise as she grabbed Liu Feng by the chin, raising his face to examine him more closely. Her long nails dug slightly into his skin, causing him to shed golden blood. "Hmm" she was about to examine him more closely when she suddenly caught something at the corner of her eye and instantly dropped Liu Feng. He collapsed back to the ground, gasping for breath.

Her attention shifted to Li Mei, who cowered under the demon’s intense gaze.

"You, do you happen to have an elder sister? Or a cousin perhaps?"
