Once on the plane, Zhuang Shuqing saw many familiar faces, all of whom she had seen while in the military area. At this moment, they looked straight ahead, their faces devoid of any emotion. Passing by them, she could feel the tense atmosphere that enveloped them.

She found a seat next to Leng Yixing and settled down for the upcoming plane landing.

Thinking that she would soon need a lot of physical strength, Zhuang Shuqing leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to rest.

When she opened her eyes again, the plane had already landed smoothly on the ground.

Leng Yixing was about to wake her up but saw she had already awoken; he said sternly, "There are continuous aftershocks; the plane can only stay here. We need to walk half an hour through the mountains to reach the center of the disaster area."

"Remember, you must not act alone. Even if you’re not directly behind me, you must ensure there is someone near you."

Zhuang Shuqing’s expression tightened, understanding the gravity of the situation. She nodded solemnly, which put Leng Yixing at ease.

He thought that Gu Chen must be dim-witted for sending Lu Jinyang’s most cherished woman here. Nevertheless, he felt relieved about her willingness to come voluntarily.

At least, it wasn’t just Lu Jinyang making unilateral efforts, right?

He had asked Lu Jinyang why he chose this woman but received no answer. However, from his observations, this woman possessed a personality that naturally drew people to her.

Previously, in the wild mountains, her valiant act of saving a stranger was proof enough that she wasn’t one to ignore others’ distress.

"Captain, we’ve found Major Lu’s cell phone," a soldier ran over and said to Leng Yixing.

Leng Yixing was overjoyed, "Quick, take me there."

The soldier remained still, "We found the phone, but we haven’t found the person even after searching day and night."

Zhuang Shuqing’s heart clenched suddenly, meaning Lu Jinyang had rushed to the disaster area first and gone missing during the worst of the earthquake.

She knew that if someone went without water for over three days, they would die. Thus, they had only two days left to find Lu Jinyang.

Leng Yixing also thought of this, and he calmed his mind, "First squad, follow me."

"Yes!"

An orderly team followed Leng Yixing forward, and Zhuang Shuqing immediately followed.

After a strenuous half-hour journey over the mountains, they finally reached the center of the disaster area.
