Chapter 80: Wrong

Thalia Eve, hailed as the most gorgeous woman in the federation. However, she was more known for her powerful identity as the Guild Leader of the third-ranked guild, Evergreen Guild.

Rise glanced at her slightly before focusing on Kamille. He smiled and called again, "Guild Leader."

"Why are you here?" Kamille then began stepping into the elevator with the still dumbstruck Thalia trailing behind him.

Hayes was more or less flustered and greeted Thalia respectfully.

Rise immediately clung to him out of habit, not minding that there were still two individuals with them.

"I thought of picking you up," Rise whispered, but loud enough for everyone to hear in such a cramped space.

Hayes looked at them with a weird gaze. Not to mention the way they were so close to each other, why was there a need to pick up the other? He was also surprised that the Guild Leader seemed not bothered with the way Rise was clinging to him.

"Uhm... Guild Leader Thalia," Hayes trailed off, becoming embarassed to talk with her.

This did help catch everyone’s attention, though, especially Rise, who only had Kamille in his eyes.

"Guild Leader Thalia, I’m sorry for greeting you late." As though finally noticing her, Rise greeted her. He also gave a smile, sweet enough to make a certain someone to almost squeal, thus ruining her overall image.

Thalia fidgeted and nodded, her cheeks heating up.

She mustered to answer despite her heart racing so much.

"You... You don’t need to say sorry. It’s fine." Thalia’s voice was so low, unlike her usual confident demeanor. After all, she was still a Guild Leader and was not a simple character.

However, at this moment, she looked just like a docile kitten for some reason.

Kamille glanced at her and was reminded of what she asked. She wanted Rise’s autograph...

Hayes, at the side, could also sense something was off. Or at least, he could notice something was different with the way Thalia interacted with Rise.

Rise was already laughing inside. He actually knew that Thalia admired him. Unbeknownst to everyone, Thalia was a secretly "idol chaser" or something like that. Basically, she was Rise’s fan, no matter how ridiculous it was.

Many admire her, and it was known that she was very accommodating to her fans. Of course, that was definitely because she knew how it felt, being a kindred spirit herself.

Rise would not expose her though and acted like he did not notice how she was totally blushing in front of her.

"The rumors are indeed true." Rise’s tone grew soft.

"What... What rumor?" Thalia bit her lips and asked.

"Guild Leader Thalia is truly kind." Rise then continued with a much lower tone. "And also beautiful."

If only it were visible, there might already be smoke exploring through her ears with how much her face was so red like a tomato! Rise loved to tease her a lot, even in the past.

Thalia heaved, cupping her chest, and she turned to the side.

AHHHHH! Thalia was already screaming inside. To be able to see Rise up close and even called beautiful by him. Oh my gosh, I can die without regrets!

Just looking at her, Rise knew her brain must already be malfunctioning. Thalia was like a kitten instead of a fox that everyone had an impression of when he was in front of Rise.

It might be laughable to see an S-rank Esper admiring an A-rank Esper so much, becoming a fan, and all that. It was even ridiculous since it was Rise. To this day, even Rise had no clue why.

Just as Rise was about to tease her again, Kamille’s arm slowly wrapped around his waist, which immediately shut every mischief that was on his mind.

"Guild Leader?" Rise looked at Kamille, becoming docile all of a sudden.

Kamille also did not know, but he only patted Rise’s waist slightly. "Just behave,"

Rise thought Kamille did not like how he teased Thalia, who was a Guild Leader of another guild and was told to respect her.

And so Rise chose to behave, enjoying Kamille’s arm securely wrapped around him. Kamille also fell into silence. Thalia to the side, calming herself and telling herself this was not a dream.

To the side... Hayes calmly watched everyone with an absurd expression.

Wait... What just happened?

Hayes did not have much answer to that until they arrived on their floor. Thalia was also on that floor and all the other Evergreen Guild.

"Uh, Rise..." Thalia called in a shy tone, she almost just mumbled that name.

"Yes, Guild Leader?" She called at him before they parted ways, Rise rarely accommodated someone, and Thalia was also a rare few who he could tolerate.

Thalia exhaled and gathered her courage. Still, all she could manage was a simple... "Fighting!" Her hands also turned into fists as if cheering him up.

Rise stared at her, unable to react for a moment. The two, Hayes and Kamille, also watched in silence, not knowing what to say.

The embarrassment seemed to sink in, and all the blood gathered on her face. In a hurry, Thalia bids her goodbye and leaves in the other direction, her movement fast as if escaping her social death.

Kamille blinked and chased her with his gaze. He then returned to Rise, who had now a grin on his face, somewhat amused.

If he could remember it right, Thalia used a gesture or a cheer that most likely was used by Koreans before, Rise’s ancestry. The current federation was already the united front of humanity, and so the idea of one’s nationality or ancestry had long blurred.

Nowadays, one did not even know what their country of origin was before the gates arrived and mostly identified them from the zones they resided in.

Even Rise did not care about that. Since, his birth, Rise has always been a Federation citizen. The peaceful era, humanity’s once glorious era, was only in history.

Thalia did not fail in making him smile though.

"She’s really something else," Rise muttered with a smile, finding her really cute. This was not any different from how he found Riri cute as well.

Sometimes he wondered what was on that beautiful head of hers? Maybe if it were still a peaceful era, she would definitely be a hardcore K-pop fan.

Just as he was amused by Thalia’s antics, he happened to lift his gaze and automatically locked with another gaze.

Kamille was staring at him, his gaze deep and dark. Somehow... Rise’s heart skipped a beat. Wait, did he do something wrong?
