Chapter 76: Capital

Rise neither asks how Kamille found him nor why he picked him up. Those did not really matter.

Instead, he grinned widely and reached out with his hand, like a kid wanting to be picked up.

Kamille readily took his hand. Rise immediately buried his face in Kamille’s chest and embraced him. He closed his eyes and breathed in the familiar scent he had missed for a couple of days.

"We’ll leave tomorrow," Kamille let Rise embrace him as the wind gathered around their feet, in no time at all, they were already flying in the air.

Rise nodded, not letting go of Kamille, nor did he intend to.

He could feel Kamille’s calm heartbeats and the warmth they always exuded, relaxing and immediately calming all his anxious nerves.

Rise always felt that Kamille’s presence instantly washed away his uncertainties, making him more confident about the future path he wanted to take. It was comforting, to say the least.

Perhaps, because he was also doing all this to the future he envisioned, which Kamille was definitely an important part of.

"Guild Leader," Rise lifted his head slightly while not breaking off his embrace.

Kamille looked down at him, raising a brow. "What is it?"

Rise sheepishly grinned; he was truly happy that Kamille had picked him up.

"You’re spoiling me, don’t you know that?"

"Am I?"

Rise nodded. "You are."

Kamille stared at him and answered so casually.

"Then I guess I am spoiling you." He admitted it without hesitation.

Rise laughed, his mind refreshed with that.

"I love it."

I love you spoiling me, even if it’s because you’re curious and I’m your personal guide that keeps your wild side at bay.

Whatever the case... I’m important to you, and from there, I’ll etch my existence to you so that you won’t ever afford to lose me.

Even when Epsilon, your fated one... finally arrived.

Rise closed his eyes and tightened his embrace.

The next day, it was the day they would depart to the capital, where the headquarters of the Esper Union was located.

"You have to behave here. Listen to the nanny at all times, but feel free to make your own judgments." Rise did not forget to give instructions to Riri, as they would be unable to bring him to them.

Rise did not nag too much, as Riri was not an ordinary child, and he was also safe inside the headquarters. However, he could not just stop making sure everything was alright before he left.

Riri nodded; he looked quite plumper, especially his cheeks. He became even cuter.

"If something happened," Rise crouched and looked at him in the eye, "contact us immediately."

Riri blinked and obedient nodded once more. He touched his bracelet as if to say he would not forget. This was an artifact, especially given by Kamille.

Rise messed up his hair again, satisfied with such a behaved child.

After that, he leaned slightly and whispered. "Don’t trust just anyone besides the nanny and the shadow guy."

Rise then withdrew and smiled again. He looked up and saw the nanny standing not far away from them.

"I... I will behave." Riri touched Rise’s wrist, as if unwilling to let go for a moment, but he still released it.

After reminding Riri, who was really like a naive child sometimes. Rise finally left and arrived at the meeting point.

As it turned out, Rise was the only one they were waiting for. Rise was also not ashamed of being late but did not forget to apologize.

"I’m sorry, Riri doesn’t want to let me go, so I coaxed him a bit." He sounded rather proud; he even appeared to be making everyone envious.

Hayes almost rolled his eyes to the back of his head but could only adjust his glasses.

Before they could ask for more, Kamille finally gathered everyone.

Not long after, and they were already in the aircraft. It was bigger than the one Kamille and Rise used, which was the Guild Leader’s personal aircraft.

Since they were a party, they used a bigger one. Not as luxurious, but decent enough.

The flight took seven hours, and each one of them took that time to really rest and sleep. This also included Rise, who has run around since his rebirth.

His body was not as exhausted, but his mind really needed a break. All of the members had their sets of encounters and chose to rest.

The whole flight was spent in silence, the normal staff also did not disturb them even when it was time for a meal and let them rest.

"Capital!" Kianna, who appeared to be a gentle and classy woman, could not stop herself from gasping and exclaiming when they finally arrived at the capital of the federation, one dubbed as the safest and most secured green zone of the humanity.

Just a glance, one would immediately know it was her first time here. The always indifferent Oren at the side, or Adelline, also looked excited as their eyes roamed and took in the refreshing scenery.

After all, it was indeed different from yellow zones. In here, it was as though they returned to when the gates had not yet arrived; it resembled the peaceful era.

There were not any signs of ruins or pollution that came from the gates or beasts. Simply put, it gave the illusion that it was safe.

It was only Kamille, Hayes, and most especially Rise who did not have a reaction.

As someone who was part of the Union just a month ago, it was to no surprise that Rise was used to it.

"Safe..." Rise mumbled, looking at the capital.

It was not as safe as everyone thought. After all... I managed to ruin it.

"Gather your things," Before Rise’s mind went down the memory lane again, Kamille’s voice interrupted him. "We’ll go to the Union headquarters immediately."

Rise momentarily paused, then nodded his head. He did not have to really gather his things since it was already in his space artifact, but this was more like Kamille saying... gather his thoughts.

He finally breathed and threw all these things out of his mind.

"Let’s go! I’ll tour everyone later!"

Rise might not be unreliable, but even Hayes, when he heard this, approved of his offer as he was someone who had lived in the capital for years.

For a moment, the temporary party entered a harmonious atmosphere.
