Chapter 151: Trending

The next day, things became so busy, at least for Kamille. As he was away for over two weeks. There were things that required his attention, which made him preoccupied for the whole day.

Since Rise was not the type to just coop up inside his room, he decided to wander around the city. This time, he was not alone; he was with the cute Riri.

"It will be so much better with the guild leader with us. Don’t you also think so, Riri?" Rise turned to the child, asking softly.

"Uh, yes," Riri just nodded and continued to lick the ice cream happily.

Rise clicked his tongue at the obvious insincere words, but he only pinched those cheeks, suppressing the desire to bite them!

In Yellow Zone cities, there were not a lot of attraction spots where people could go when it was time to rest and wander around. It was a city with alert and always cautious citizens who did not prioritize entertainment outside their homes.

Holding Riri’s little hand, Rise led them wherever his feet led them. They did not have any itinerary on this trip; he only wanted to wander around with Riri.

At some point, his feet stopped, and he looked at the place in front of him. He paused and then looked at Riri.

Sure enough, the little kid was already looking at the spectacle in front with such curiosity but also anticipation in his eyes. He tightened his hold on Riri’s hand and smiled.

"Do you want to play, Riri?"

Riri seemed to force himself to withdraw his gaze and look up to Rise.

"Play?" The word itself was so foreign to him. It had not been long since he began to learn the language of the humans. He often only used what he heard as he looked it up and incorporated it with his own.

The Guild did not have kids, and so there was not any playroom inside. And during Kamille and Rise’s absence, Riri was so nervous to leave the room, much less interact with others other than Eunbin and the nanny.

Ah, right!

Rise thought of building a playspace for Riri at home. While the kid did not have the mind of a kid, he was still ultimately one.

"Right, play. Like what the other kids have been doing."

Actually, he himself did not really experienced this place yet. The orphanage had one, but he only watched the other kids play and never joined.

Rise even thought things like this were stupid.

Riri glanced at the other kids playing in the playground. For him, everything was just too strange, yet they looked exciting, especially how the kids seemed to enjoy them.

In the dungeon, he was only with the other monsters; no one could talk to him, much less play with him. Riri, who then did not have a name yet, could only let the time pass sitting at the corner as he waited for his fated demise.

"I..." Riri gripped Rise’s hand nervously; he then lifted his gaze. "I want to play."

This was the first time he actually looked so eager to do something. Well, Riri more or less had those moments before, but he always tried hard to hide them, scared to even say his opinions out loud.

Rise’s lips subconsciously lifted as he smiled and nodded.

"Of course, Riri can play. Let’s go and play!"

Riri’s eyes brightened, and he almost jumped, smiling. His smile was also contagious as Rise’s smile widened.

With their hands swaying and Riri jumping excitedly at each step, they approached the playground for the first time in their lives.

First, they approached the slides. It was a bit big, which made it more enjoyable as a lot of kids continued to climb up and then slide back down.

Riri seemed shy as he gripped Rise’s hand nervously.

"It’s fine. It’s a public space, so we can also use it." Rise comforted him. There were parents and guardians around as well, and not just kids.

Rise walked toward the stairs, holding Riri’s hand. He was not very domineering either, letting others who were already there first come first.

If it was the old Rise, he would not care. He also wanted a good experience for Riri. This was not for him, after all.

Slowly, Riri also began to relax as Rise led him when it was already their turn. Rise also grins, pinching his chubby cheeks and supporting the little one to climb.

His limbs were short, but while there was some difficulty, Riri could climb slowly with Rise’s support on his waist.

"Good, you can do it." Rise encouraged, which earned a joyful laugh from Riri. Since they were actually slow, it was to be expected that some parents would become dissatisfied.

Rise was famous, but no one would actually think a person of his caliber was with the normal folk, right?

A sneer was heard at the side; a woman holding a fan looked at them with disdain. "Honey, can you let our baby be the first? They’re so slow."

The man with him also frowned at this.

"Hey!"

He approached Rise or at least tried to when he was stopped just a few meters from the two, and that was already Rise being generous.

The man frowned heavily and tried to take a step again, but he could not do it; it was as if there were some obstruction between them not allowing him to get through.

Slowly, the man finally realized as his face went pale. His hands trembled, then his whole body. The wife noticed something was wrong and approached her husband.

"What’s wrong, honey? Why did you stop? Look, our baby already wants to"

"Shut up!" The man glared at his wife. The woman was shocked and was about to say something, but she was not able to when they were already dragged away from Rise, ignoring the huff of anger from his wife and the cry of their son.

Esper.

The man knew normal citizens like them could not provoke any of them, even the lowest rank Esper.

This commotion came and went silently, barely noticeable, although it got some attention and curiosity from the parents around.

Since the start, Rise did not turn around and just had all his attention to Riri. He did not bother to care, and at least the husband was sensible. This was but a small matter and was forgotten soon after.

Riri finally climbed up and looked down at him, and Rise nodded.

The little one smiled, and while under his supervision, he walked toward the exit, crawling for a second, then slid down. His laughter resounded once he was already on the ground.

"Is it good?" Rise crouched, then patted Riri’s butt to remove the dust. "Want to try it again?"

Riri excitedly nodded, "Yes! Want!"

Rise laughed, and the two returned to the stairs as Riri used the slides again. Although, after a few times, Riri began to look at the other playground equipment.

The next thing they tried was the merry-go-round, some kids were also inside. Riri was nervous at first, but then he began to laugh with them.

Rise watched this with amusement. He still thought these were stupid, but... He had to admit, they were truly enjoyable for kids and some kids at heart.

The swings, seesaw, and others—they tried them all. Riri seemed to want to try them all, and Rise let him.

While watching Riri play with other kids, Rise stood at the side, under the shade of a tree. Some parents were also around, but not one tried to stand beside him.

Rise still looked intimidating, even though no one knew of his identity.

He never thought watching kids play could be this relaxing, or maybe because someone he cared for was the one playing?

He glanced at the side and noticed that the kids had dwindled slightly. So, they had been there for a few hours. Rise did not bother with time.

Rise would become so busy after this, and his time with Riri was limited, and as much as possible, he wanted to spend time with the little kid, which they just snatched from the dungeon.

This was a responsibility, but more so... Rise found himself, being at ease.

Wow, he never thought this would be theraupetic, not like he needed one. Still, Rise felt himself sitting in a comfortable position, leaning against the tree.

He rested his hand against his chin, watching Riri.

"I hope, next time, Guild Leader is with us." Rise smiled, imagining how cute that would be.

Unfortunately, Kamille was caught on by the Guild affairs.

Speaking of, his underlings... Should I check them?

Unbeknownst to Rise, though, his face was already trending on the internet. Not like he cared.

"Guild Leader, it’s about Rise... Uhm, he’s trending right now." Hayes immediately reported this matter.

Kamille was sorting out some plans, which also included some meeting appointments.

He merely nodded, not looking up.

"Make sure they won’t be disturbed."

He already knew that Rise and Riri went out. Getting trending, when did Rise ever leave the trending list? As long as no one disturbed them, Kamille would be at ease at work.

"About that," Hayes sudenly hesitated.

"About what?"

"It’s about Riri."

This time, Kamille lifted his gaze.

"What about him?"

"Uh, Riri’s identity and pictures are spreading on the internet right now."

Kamille immediately became solemn.

The way it mirrored Rise’s expression at this moment.

Rise already noticed the amount of reporters around.
