Chapter 131: Rescue?

For some reason, Rise did not feel as scared as he imagined at the thought of that. His mind was already going in places that he did not bother about the prospect of being tortured with another hand.

Still, his lips instinctively hooked up, no matter how painful it was at the sight of Guild Leader Kamille Han. He sucked a breath at that handsome face.

Seriously, why was he so damn sexy? Even with his cold and dark demeanor, Rise found that spicier.

He only looked dumbly at Kamille; his eyes, which were observing him, were the evidence of greeting his presence at least. It could be noticed though that his gaze was a bit out of focus, not with the usual light it had.

Kamille frowned heavily seeing this as he glanced at Danich, who was now standing, wearing a stunned expression, looking at Kamille. Rise could not help but tilt his head at that, puzzled.

Was he seeing right, or was it just his mind playing tricks on him due to his hunger?

Danich’s expression, which always had a devious smile, now carried a tinge of wariness; his demeanor was also not as relaxed as before as he looked at Kamille.

Even more so, he visibly flinched when Kamille’s gaze was once again fixed on him. This noble, though Rise did not know the rank, always had a powerful and almost unbeatable presence for him.

For some reason, as he stood alongside Kamille, his presence was particularly overwhelming. Which did not make sense unless... Guild Leader Kamille Han was stronger than him?

Rise was not yet in the right state of mind to assess the situation clearly, and he just thought that maybe it had something to do with his aesthetics.

Kamille did not say anything but stared deeply at Danich; the natural oppressive air around him only grew intense.

Danich instinctively took a defensive stance with just his gaze alone. A few seconds of realization, and his expression twisted.

"Human..." Danich gritted his teeth, not knowing why he was feeling scared before an insignificant human. "Who are you?" He then repeated, his voice tinged with both anger and cautiousness.

Kamille only narrowed his eyes and ignored him as he began walking in Rise’s direction. Danich wanted to move and attack, but his instincts made him stop, opting for more information or a guarantee.

Rise watched this with interest; if not for his hunger, he might taunt both sides to fight so he could watch with satisfaction. He loved fighting, but he loved watching others fight just the same.

A few more steps, and Kamille Han was already standing in front of Rise, who was bound at the throne. Rise looked up and met Kamille’s dark gaze.

"What happened to you?" Kamille crouched slightly and faced Rise; his eyes flashed with complicated emotion. He reached out and touched the collar that was on Rise’s neck. Since the collar had been stuck around Rise’s neck, and with a lot of smashing sessions, it seemed to have become part of his flesh now.

The collar was tight to begin with, which led to this situation.

Rise only frowned but licked his dry lips. He opened his mouth, trying to say something or make a sarcastic retort like, "Can you see I’m beaten up to this point?’

However, as his jaw was also not in good condition and he would only be able to voice out sounds at most, he closed his mouth again. He only stared at Kamille Han, trying to communicate with his gaze alone.

From their first meeting, Rise was an energetic and sly villain, and now he was reduced to this point.

Kamille’s jaw clenched, and Rise thought he was pissed. Just as Kamille was about to turn around again, Rise caught his hand in a moment of impulse.

His hold was not tight; it could be said that it was so light that it was barely there, but it still caught Kamille’s attention nonetheless.

Rise could not speak, but he could write it, yes? Rise leaned at Kamille’s chest as he heaved a breath; this action already hurt so much that his face twitched.

He did not care though; he did not even bother that Kamille’s relationship with him was as nonexistent. Their last meeting was even unpleasant.

With weak fingers, he began writing at the back of Kamille’s arm. Hopefully the other would pay attention to every letter he would write.

Suddenly, the two seemed to forget the noble who was also inside the gate. Yet, the strange thing was that Danich seemed to not have any intention to take action and was only observing on the side.

I’m hungry.

Rise first wrote that, and he even took a minute to complete it.

Give me food.

Rise wrote next. He then lifted his gaze and looked at Kamille’s face, which was now so close to his face that he barely noticed, his mind preoccupied with his hunger.

His gaze carried anticipation and hope, waiting for Kamille’s response.

Please.

Rise then added.

Kamille fell silent for a moment to the point that the hope in Rise’s eyes dimmed, thinking that the other did not pay attention to his writings or maybe the movement of his stiff fingers made it hard to understand.

He bit his lips and was once again trying to start writing, but then Kamille tapped his fingers, motioning to stop. Rise looked at him with a questioning look.

"I understand." Kamille spoke, which made Rise’s eyes light up.

Kamille did not make him wait, as before Rise, food suddenly materialized. The other immediately pulled them in his storage space. Instantly, Rise forgot everything else, and his full attention was on the food.

Not bothering with dining etiquette, he decoured them just like how he did with the monster corpses that Danich gave him. The difference was that his expressions were full of delight and satisfaction, as finally, after so long, he finally had decent human food!

He was so focused on food that he did not notice Kamille destroying the collar at his neck as though they melted into nothingness. Rise only felt some relief but was fixated on filling his stomach more.
