"Getting married?" Yang Gang’s expression hardened slightly.

An inexplicable thought passed through his mind. Yang Gang was surprised to find that he felt slightly... uncomfortable.

But when Gu Xiaorou was really going to marry Zhang Yu, he found that words of congratulation were surprisingly difficult to say.

Yang Gang caught the object Gu Xiaorou threw at him, looked at it, and his mouth twitched, "Carrying a sanitary pad, doesn’t look like you’re pregnant. Why then the sudden decision to get married?"

Upon seeing what Yang Gang was holding, Gu Xiaorou’s face turned scarlet. She walked over, snatched the sanitary pad from his hand, and stuffed it back into her pocket.

"Blind date?" Yang Gang began to realize that things might not be as simple as they seemed.

Gu Xiaorou gazed at the deserted sky and said lethargically, "Hmm. My second brother called to say he’s in Hangcheng. He wants to introduce me to a man."

Yang Gang was momentarily startled. After a period of contemplation he asked, "Don’t they know you have a boyfriend?"

"They do know," replied Gu Xiaorou impassively.

"They know you have a boyfriend and still want to force you into an arranged marriage? That’s unreasonable," said Yang Gang disapprovingly.

Gu Xiaorou slightly lowered her head, the corners of her mouth curling into a self-mocking smile, "In that family, what they say constitutes reason."

"Hmph! I’ve known you for six or seven years, and not once have I seen them show you any concern. Why should you let them manipulate you? Marriage is the most important event in a woman’s life, it shouldn’t be controlled by others! Xiaorou, reject them outright!"

Gu Xiaorou shook her head, "I can’t reject them. If I did, they would kill Zhang Yu."

Yang Gang took a deep, cold breath.

In terms of individual combat ability, Zhang Yu was capable of holding his own against ten.

She covered her chest with her hand, tiptoed, and leaned towards Yang Gang’s lips.

Yang Gang, with his eyes closed, could sense the intoxicating scent of her lips drawing nearer to his own.

What surprised Yang Gang was that Gu Xiaorou’s kiss did not land on his lips, but on his forehead.

"Sort of, but there are other reasons as well." Gu Xiaorou paused, then smiled: "I’m just going on a blind date. If the guy isn’t to my liking, I’ll reject him outright."

"What if you happen to like him?" Yang Gang asked.

Yang Gang chuckled: "Okay! I’ll pick you up tonight."

After hanging up the phone, Yang Gang turned his head and jumped in surprise.
