Leaving those words behind, the administrative staff member returned to the public office. After she left, Wei Bai and the others walked into the East District. Looking at the beautifully decorated houses and the high-ranked zombies that were busy planting flowers and sunbathing, Lei Zhicheng’s eyes flickered.

After taking a look at Lei Zhicheng’s expression, Wei Bai smiled and asked, "Are you surprised?"

Lei Zhicheng turned to look at him and replied: "This is the first time I see zombies living and talking like humans."

Wei Bai looked at the zombies living peacefully in the East District, sighed, and said with a hint of pity in his voice: "They are all human beings. They are just more unfortunate than us and have experienced some inhuman things in the past."

Listening to Wei Bai’s words, Lei Zhicheng lowered his eyes to hide his emotions. After walking for another thirty minutes, they finally arrived at Lei Haozhan’s house. Standing in front of the small house, Lei Zhicheng looked at the beautifully decorated front yard in a daze. The front yard looks exactly like the front yard of the Lei family’s ancestral home.

Wei Bai rang the bell hanging by the low gate and waited. Soon, the door opened and Lei Zhicheng’s eyes constricted when he saw a young man who looked similar to himself walking out of the house.

Opening the low wooden gate, Lei Haozhan smiled at them and said, "Captain Xiu has informed me of your visit. Please come in."

After saying that, he stepped aside to let them in, but Lei Zhicheng could only stand there staring at him motionlessly. Feeling Lei Zhicheng’s gaze, Lei Haozhan turned around and froze in place the moment he saw Lei Zhicheng.

After blinking a few times, Lei Haozhan stared at the man standing in front of him, hesitated for a moment, and then asked carefully: "Cheng Cheng?"

Hearing the young man in front of him called his nickname, Lei Zhicheng stepped forward and called him in a trembling voice: "Elder Brother."

Lei Haozhan smiled at him and said, "Yes, it’s me. It seems you are no longer picky about food because you are growing up healthily."

Looking at his elder brother who was supposed to be two years older than himself but looked younger than himself instead, Lei Zhicheng clenched his hands, gritted his teeth, and thought: ’Grandfather, is it really you who did all of that?’

Sensing his murderous intent, Lei Haozhan walked up to him. He held Lei Zhicheng’s hand like how he held his younger brother’s hand when they were young, and said, "Let’s go in first."

Seeing that the two brothers had a lot to say, Wei Bai said, "Captain Lei, we will wait outside."

Lei Zhicheng nodded to Wei Bai and followed Lei Haozhan in. When the door closed, a team member looked at Wei Bai and asked, "Brother Wei, are you sure it is alright to let Captain Lei be alone with the Zombie Emperor?"

Wei Bai clicked his tongue and said, "You have to be tactful. The two of them are obviously siblings. Do you think Young Master Lei will kill his younger brother? Moreover, our mission is to protect him from other zombies, not from Young Master Lei. Do you think we can win if we fight against the Zombie Emperor?"

His team members looked at each other, then looked at the closed door, and one of them muttered: "But we don’t know if the Zombie Emperor still regards Captain Lei as his younger brother after he turned into a zombie or not."

Hearing what he said, Wei Bai sighed and said, "No matter what, we just need to complete our mission and not get involved in their problems. It’s too complicated."

After hearing what he said, the team members nodded in agreement. They are good at fighting and using their muscles, but when it comes to scheming and using their brains, they are worse than the children raised by Zhu Lin.

At the same time, inside the house, Lei Haozhan pushed Lei Zhicheng to the ground, grabbed his neck and looked at him coldly. If Wei Bai and the others saw what happened right now, they would be frightened to death because the murderous intent exuded by Lei Haozhan was so obvious.

Being suppressed by his elder brother, Lei Zhicheng groaned in pain and asked with difficulty: "El– Elder Brother, were you pretending just now? Can you listen to me first?"

Lei Haozhan smiled and said, "Little brother, everyone in this world is pretending for their own survival. Do you think I will trust someone who works under that damn old man? Save your breath and answer my questions. What is your motive for coming here? Do you want to capture me back to the secret laboratory?"

Lei Zhicheng wanted to shake his head, but Lei Haozhan pushed him to the ground forcefully and said coldly: "Don’t move, or I will break your neck."

Lei Zhicheng gasped and groaned, "Ugh..."

Seeing that he had difficulty breathing, Lei Haozhan subconsciously weakened his strength and said, "Answer me before I lose my patience."

"Elder Brother, I also escaped from the secret organization and they are looking for me now. The reason why I came here is to find you. I have something to ask you." Lei Zhicheng said breathlessly.

Hearing what he said, the murderous intent in Lei Haozhan’s red eyes eased slightly, but he still didn’t let go of his hand on the back of Lei Zhicheng’s neck. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "What do you want to ask?"

Lei Zhicheng felt that his lungs were about to burst, and his voice was hoarse when he said, "Elder Brother, can you let me go first? It hurts and it’s hard to breathe."

Lei Haozhan stared at his younger cousin in silence for a while, then sneered and said. "You have ten seconds to answer my question. Otherwise, you will regret coming here today."
