Chapter 193: Ji Yang’s Plan
Looking at the green and shiny shell of the mutated caterpillar, Xiu Wu said, "I’m going to see if the salt really killed it or just knocked it unconscious."
Without waiting for Zhu Lin and others to speak, Xiu Wu walked toward the mutated caterpillar calmly. Standing five meters away from the motionless mutated caterpillar, he calmly threw a space blade at it.
Clang!
The moment the space blade collided with the mutated caterpillar’s shell, there was a sound like the collision of metal and blade. Seeing that the mutated caterpillar was still motionless, Xiu Wu approached it cautiously.
He stood in front of the mutated caterpillar, looked at its silly face, and reached out to touch it. After a few seconds, he looked at the other three people and said calmly: "It’s already dead."
After saying that, Ji Yang, Tan Wei, and Zhu Lin walked up to him. Seeing that the mutated giant caterpillar was at least as big as a small house, Tan Wei said, "I still can’t believe that a little salt can kill this giant caterpillar."
Xiu Wu knocked on the hard shell and said, "Fortunately, the salt worked. Otherwise, it would be difficult to kill this giant caterpillar."
While Xiu Wu and Tan Wei were discussing how to kill the giant caterpillar without using salt, Ji Yang carefully inspected the giant caterpillar’s corpse and asked, "Xiao Wei, didn’t you say more people came to our base again this morning after we send the workers back?"
Tan Wei nodded to him and said, "Yes. These people are from other cities and bases. They heard rumors that our base provides free meals and want to stay in our base."
After answering Ji Yang’s question, he thought for a moment and asked, "Why did you suddenly ask about this? Didn’t you ask Lu Qiu to drive them away because we don’t have enough living space?"
Ji Yang looked at him, patted the giant caterpillar’s shell, and said, "I think I have found a solution about the living space. As more people join your base, we can build our base faster."
Tan Wei was not sure whether he could follow Ji Yang’s train of thought. He scratched his head and asked, "What do you mean? Are you willing to accept those people and feed them?"
Ji Yang smiled mysteriously at him, took the giant caterpillar’s corpse into his space, and said, "We just provide them with a place to build houses. As for others, they should find it themselves."
After speaking, Ji Yang looked at the sky and said, "Let’s go back first."
Tan Wei saw him getting into the car and said, "Hey, Lao Yang, we have to clean up the remaining giant caterpillars before we can go back."
After closing the car door, Ji Yang looked at him and said, "There is no need for us to do this task ourselves. There will be many people competing for it later."
After hearing what he said, Xiu Wu thought for a while and said, "Let’s go back to the base."
Since Xiu Wu said so, Tan Wei had no choice but to return to the base. A few minutes after they left, the ground shook again and countless giant caterpillars emerged from the holes. Some of them died within seconds, while others survived by devouring the bodies of dead caterpillars.
Meanwhile, Zhu Lin, who was sitting in the back row, asked in a low voice: "Does Ji Yang want to use the giant caterpillar’s shell as a living space?"
Hearing her question, Xiu Wu smiled and said, "Mhm. How did you guess that?"
"It was easy to guess when I saw Ji Yang examining the shells and connecting them with the questions he asked Tan Wei." Zhu Lin replied calmly.
Listening to her answer, Xiu Wu laughed and said, "It’s a pity that Xiao Wei can’t guess this simple answer."
Hearing his words, Zhu Lin looked at the back of Tan Wei’s head seriously and said, "He should eat more fish eyes. He is so lucky to be alive till now."
As soon as she said this, Xiu Wu laughed. Tan Wei didn’t realize that he was being criticized by his friends. He glanced at the two of them in the rearview mirror and asked, "Lao Xiu, why are you suddenly laughing? What’s so funny?"
Xiu Wu shook his head and said, "It’s better for you to not know."
In confusion, Tan Wei drove very quickly and arrived at the base in just three hours. When they got out of the car, Lu Qiu saw them. He waved at them and continued talking to the supernatural beings working as guards.
Seeing that there were more people camped in front of the entrance of their base than before, Ji Yang said, "I’m going to the public office. You guys go have lunch first."
Leaving these words behind, he quickly walked toward the public office. The three of them were hungry and decided to go back to the villa to check on the children and Zheng Jinnan.
Ji Yang arrived at the public office in no time, nodded to the staff, and asked, "Where is Uncle Bokai?"
The worker pointed to the back door and said, "Uncle Bokai is in the butcher shop. The military base just used twenty mutated giant wild boars in exchange for water and sweet potatoes, so he is working on them now."
After hearing her words, Ji Yang thought for a moment and said, "Spread the news that we will accept live mutated animals in exchange for water and food."
The worker nodded and said, "Yes, Brother Ji."
After handling some important matters, Ji Yang went to the butcher house. When he opened the door, his nostrils were filled with the smell of blood, but Ji Yang did not even flinch. He looked around and saw He Bokai busy chopping a giant boar.
Before he could speak, He Bokai asked, "Why are you here? Do you need something?"
