Chapter 177: Chapter 177: Embarrassed Lin Chang_1

However, as for their departure, Qin Feiyang was utterly oblivious.

"Old Feng..."

"Bear King senior..."

"You won’t die..."

He was clutching the top-grade healing pills, stuffing them into the mouths of the Black Bear King and Feng Cheng in succession, as if only by consuming enough of these pills could they be revived.

Fatty, watching from the side, was growing frantic. The Bear King’s head had shattered. Feng Cheng’s heart had burst. It was obvious there was no hope left. He wanted to offer solace but didn’t know how to begin.

Shi Zheng also remained silent, his head bowed. He hadn’t expected this outwardly tough young man to have such a vulnerable side.

Suddenly, Feng Cheng shakily extended his old hand, seizing Qin Feiyang’s wrist, and said with a weak, intermittent laugh, "Lad, I didn’t expect to see you one last time before I die." As he spoke, he coughed up blood.

Qin Feiyang hurriedly said, "Old Feng, please don’t talk."

"If I don’t speak now, I’ll never get the chance... Lad, promise me something... Ling’er’s parents died early... She has been dependent on me since she was little; she’s the one I can’t let go of... After I’m gone, could you take care of her for me?" Feng Cheng looked at him pleadingly.

"Okay."

Qin Feiyang nodded, suppressing his emotions. He turned to Shi Zheng and said with a forced smile, "Elder Shi, could you step aside? I have something to say to Old Feng."

"Okay."

Shi Zheng turned and walked away.

Qin Feiyang looked back at Feng Cheng, only to find that Feng Cheng had already closed his eyes; his heartbeat and breathing had also stopped. He’d wanted to reveal his true identity to Old Feng, but now that chance was lost.

"I also have a favor to ask of you."

At this moment, the voice of the Black Bear King echoed in his mind.

Qin Feiyang looked up, forcing a smile as he nodded. "Senior, whatever it is, I promise."

"See that mound of earth? My child... is buried there... I hope... you can bury me next to it... So I can continue... to protect it... Zuo An has not discovered the treasure vault... You can take everything that’s in there..."

The Black Bear King spoke in fits and starts, two tears of blood, imbued with immeasurable sorrow, escaping from the corners of his eyes. Once he finished speaking, his life force ceased altogether.

BANG!

It struck Qin Feiyang like a bolt from the blue. The Black Bear cub was dead? So that mound of earth was its grave. It had only been a few months; how could things have ended up like this?

"Why..."

Suddenly, he threw his head back and let out a howl that pierced the sky.

Meanwhile, RUMBLE! CRACK!

From afar, a series of deafening explosions echoed, shaking heaven and earth as horrifying shockwaves from the battle rapidly spread towards them.

"The fight has begun." Fatty and Shi Zheng both looked towards the sky, alarmed.

But Qin Feiyang didn’t look, his expression completely indifferent.

He stood up and walked over to the mound of dirt. True Qi burst from the soles of his feet, and with a BOOM, a deep pit instantly appeared.

After burying the Black Bear King, he bowed deeply three times before the grave. He uttered no grand pronouncements; everything seemed simple and ordinary.

Soon after, he walked alone into the cave. He came across one gruesome corpse after another, yet his face remained impassive. After entering the treasury and taking everything inside, he exited the cave, picked up Elder Feng’s body, and headed out of the valley.

Shi Zheng hurriedly asked, "Jian Haotian, where are you going?"

Qin Feiyang replied, "Black Bear City."

Fatty, chasing after him, asked, "Boss, aren’t you going to see what happened to Zuo An?"

"Not interested." Qin Feiyang murmured, looking up at the sky. A sharp light flashed in his eyes as he continued, "Because he won’t die."

"Won’t die?" Fatty and Shi Zheng exchanged glances, a hint of shocked disbelief in their eyes. The four great leaders have joined forces, yet they can’t take down a single Zuo An?

Qin Feiyang offered a brief explanation, then quietly left the valley.

「Black Bear City!」

"Huh!"

"Isn’t that Jian Haotian?"

"I heard he went to Yan City. Why did he suddenly come back?"

"Look, isn’t that Elder Feng of the Elixir Palace he’s carrying?"

"Yes, it’s him!"

"Rumor was, a few days ago, he was abducted by Zuo An. How come he’s dead now?"

As soon as Qin Feiyang entered Black Bear City, people on the streets started to crowd around him. However, with Shi Zheng present, none of them could get close.

Qin Feiyang walked straight to the Elixir Palace but didn’t enter, stopping outside the main entrance.

Soon after, two familiar figures came into his view: Luo Xiong and Elder Mo.

"What happened?"

"Jian Haotian, how did Old Feng die?"

The two rushed over to Qin Feiyang, their faces filled with sorrow as they asked.

Without providing any explanation, Qin Feiyang handed Feng Cheng’s body to Luo Xiong and said, "Seniors, please take care of the burial."

"Alright." Both of them nodded.

They had many questions to ask, but Qin Feiyang didn’t give them the chance. He took out a jade box, pressed it into Elder Mo’s hand, said a simple "Take care," and then left with Shi Zheng and Fatty.

Upon opening the jade box, Elder Mo visibly flinched. Inside, incredibly, lay four Top Grade Vermilion Glazed Pills! The Elixir Pattern on them was dazzlingly brilliant.

"Where is Brother Jian? Where did he go?"

Not long after, Jiang Wei rushed over in a panic, looking at Luo Xiong and Elder Mo and asking.

"He’s gone."

With a deep sigh, Luo Xiong turned and left with Elder Mo, their retreating figures appearing utterly desolate. They had heard a little about the situation in Yan City. If it weren’t for those people from the Elixir King Palace, how could things have come to this?

「Outside the city!」

Qin Feiyang took a small path into a grove of trees. He took out three Shape-shifting Pills, consumed one, and handed the other two to Fatty and Shi Zheng.

They exchanged a look and dubiously accepted the pills.

Fatty asked, puzzled, "Boss, is it still necessary for us to disguise ourselves now?"

Qin Feiyang shook his head. "We can’t be careless. After you change your appearances, head to Black Bear City and wait for me. I need to go somewhere."

Shi Zheng raised an eyebrow. "Absolutely not. I can’t let you go alone."

"I’m only going to a small village. I’ll be fine."

After saying this, Qin Feiyang gave Fatty a meaningful look.

Fatty understood immediately. He pounced forward and grabbed Shi Zheng in a tight hug. At the same time, Qin Feiyang turned and swiftly disappeared into the forest, vanishing from Shi Zheng’s sight.

Startled, Shi Zheng shouted angrily, "Fatty, what are you doing? Let go of me!"

"Not unless you kill Master Fatty!" Fatty retorted, stubbornly refusing to let go. He then sighed, "Elder Shi, Master Fatty knows you’re concerned about Brother Jian, but I care about his safety even more than you do. Don’t worry, he’ll be fine."

Shi Zheng frowned and said sternly, "If anything happens to him, will you take responsibility?"

"I’ll take responsibility!" Fatty declared. "Come on, let’s go to the Spring Wind Building and drink until we can’t remember a thing."

After taking the Shape-shifting Pill, Fatty began to drag Shi Zheng towards Black Bear City.

「By a rushing river.」

Qin Feiyang glanced back at the forest behind him. Seeing that Shi Zheng hadn’t followed, he finally let out a long sigh of relief. He was heading to Iron Bull Town! Therefore, he absolutely couldn’t allow Shi Zheng to follow. He was no longer the person he once was.

In less than half a day, he arrived at Iron Bull Town.

Entering the town with an unfamiliar face would definitely arouse suspicion. After all, Iron Bull Town was small, with few residents; it was the kind of place where everyone knew each other.

"I say, young man, where are you from?"

"Do you have business in our Iron Bull Town?"

A few old men, who were playing chess under a large tree, stopped Qin Feiyang and asked curiously.

Qin Feiyang simply smiled at them and walked past.

"What a strange young man." The old men shook their heads but paid him no further mind.

「The Lin family!」

Qin Feiyang stood before the main gate, looked at the two house servants, and said indifferently, "Take me to Lin Chang."

"Who are you?"

"Do you think our Family Head is someone you can meet just by asking? State your name, quickly!"

The two house servants barked coldly.

A cold light flashed in Qin Feiyang’s eyes as he directly barged in.

"How audacious!"

"You dare cause trouble on Lin family grounds? Watch me break your legs!"

Both servants, radiating hostility, threw punches at Qin Feiyang.

"Hmph!" With a cold snort, Qin Feiyang turned and swung a slap.

SLAP!!

The two servants were sent flying, bright red palm prints rapidly appearing on their faces, a trace of blood at the corners of their mouths.

"Dare to block my path again, and I’ll kill you!"

Leaving this cold threat hanging in the air, Qin Feiyang strode into the Lin family estate.

He was no stranger to the Lin family. He navigated his way to the main discussion hall with practiced ease. The servants he encountered along the way were all baffled. Who was this big shot?

"Hmm?"

Passing through a garden, he spotted Lin Chang sitting alone in a pavilion, drinking. His clothes were in disarray, his hair unkempt, and his face dirty. He looked as though he had completely lost his former distinguished air, resembling an old man on the verge of death.

Qin Feiyang walked up behind two maidservants and asked, "What’s wrong with Lin Chang?"

"Sigh, it’s all because of the Young Miss."

"Ever since the Young Miss left for Yan City, the Family Head has been like this—drinking all day, doing nothing."

"If this continues, the Lin family will surely decline."

The two maidservants sighed as they spoke. Only after speaking did they realize something was amiss. Turning, they glared at Qin Feiyang and demanded, "Who are you? What are you doing barging into our Lin Mansion?"

"I’m here to see your Family Head," Qin Feiyang replied calmly, then strode towards the pavilion.

The two maidservants exchanged a glance and hurriedly chased after him. But with Qin Feiyang’s current speed, how could two mere maidservants possibly catch up to him?

He stepped into the pavilion.

Immediately, a repulsive stench—an intertwining mix of stale alcohol and body odor—assaulted his nostrils.

He frowned, looking at Lin Chang, who was clearly dead drunk, and said, "I never imagined that in less than a year, you would end up like this."

"Who are you?" Lin Chang slurred, staggering to his feet. "Are you here to drink with me?" He swayed as he lurched towards Qin Feiyang.

Qin Feiyang raised an eyebrow and coolly sidestepped.

With a THUD, Lin Chang lost his balance and crashed to the ground.

The two maidservants rushed over and quickly helped him up. Smelling the repulsive stench, their faces were filled with disgust.

Qin Feiyang shook his head and remarked, "The dignified Family Head, and even your own maidservants are starting to find you repulsive. Tell me, how have you failed so badly at life?"

"I don’t need your help! Get lost!"

Once on his feet, Lin Chang shoved the two maidservants aside. He turned to Qin Feiyang and snarled, "If you’re not here to drink with me, then get the hell out!"
