Idle Money System -
Chapter 126 - 126: So kind
Gavin Gao closed his eyes, his hands clenched tightly into fists. Just then, a young man appeared, his face completely covered by a mask, sunglasses, and a hat.
There was truly no way to tell who he was. The young man was none other than Alexander himself.
Seeing how serious the situation had become, with cameras pointed in every direction, Alexander had quickly run to a nearby shop and bought some items to conceal his identity.
If he had known that the car was this extraordinary, he would have simply left it alone. The description given by the system had completely misled him.
Just a car? How could anyone call a limited edition vehicle, with only ten of its kind in the world, an ordinary car?
No kidding.
As he arrived at the crowded scene, Alexander quietly slipped through the people and made his way to the front, where Gavin Gao stood visibly struggling with the situation.
"Hello, uncle. I am the owner of this car. Can you tell me what the problem is?" Alexander asked calmly.
He already knew the issue but chose to ask out of respect, understanding that the man was simply doing his job.
Gavin Gao looked up and saw a tall young man wearing a plain white shirt, his face well-covered.
Yet, even beneath the mask and sunglasses, Gavin could sense a certain charm and presence radiating from him.
"Ah, yes… you… you are the owner of this car?" Gavin Gao stuttered, his voice low and unsure.
"Yes, uncle. Can you tell me what my violation is?" Alexander asked casually, his tone calm and respectful.
Hearing that the young man was indeed the owner of the car and realizing that he was not the arrogant type Gavin had imagined.
Gavin breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed the conversation was not going to turn aggressive after all.
The spectators watching the scene were surprised to see the owner of the car arrive and stand right in front of them.
He was tall, with a presence that resembled a model, though it was a slight disappointment that his face and appearance were fully covered.
Gavin Gao straightened up and replied firmly but respectfully, "Yes, sir. Your vehicle was parked in a designated no-parking zone along a public roadside. That falls under illegal parking according to city ordinance. Technically, it's subject to towing and citation."
He hesitated for a moment before adding, "But considering the situation and the kind of attention this is getting... I'd recommend resolving this quickly and calmly. The crowd's already stirred, and if I don't act, I'll be the one they go after." He spoke with a tone of pleading.
Alexander did not want to cause any trouble for the uncle, so he simply nodded, clearly showing his willingness to follow whatever instructions were given.
Seeing that the young man was giving him respect by cooperating sincerely it softened Gavin Gao's heart.
"So, what should I do, uncle?" Alexander asked calmly.
Gavin Gao first cleared his throat and said, "Since we've come this far… I'll also need to see your papers, sir. This vehicle's clearly imported, and something of this class requires proper documentation."
Gavin glanced back at the car its sleek, otherworldly design sticking out like a sore thumb on a public roadside.
As he then continued, "Just the basics registration, import clearance, and LTO permits if it's authorized for road use here. I'm sure you understand."
Gavin was not trying to escalate the situation, as he knew this was the proper way to handle things in line with his duty.
This was not the kind of car you could simply overlook, especially with the growing pressure from the watching crowd.
"Oh sure, wait a moment. Let me take it out for you," Alexander replied calmly. He then pulled out the keys, and with a simple click, the car door smoothly opened.
The spectators, seeing how futuristic and advanced the vehicle was, felt an even stronger urge to take a closer look but they held themselves back, keeping a respectful distance.
The young man who had been explaining the details about the car earlier caught a glimpse of its interior, and his eyes sparkled with excitement, clearly showing his passion as a car enthusiast.
"Here, you can go ahead and check it," Alexander said as he calmly handed over the envelope containing the documents.
Gavin Gao took the envelope and carefully checked each paper one by one.
After confirming that everything was complete and in order, he returned the documents to Alexander with a nod of approval.
"Thank you for cooperating. One last thing, sir do you have a driver's license?" Gavin Gao asked, extending his hand to check it as well.
Alexander, hearing this, sighed and shook his head, "I do not have one yet," he replied honestly.
Since the system had only provided the car's papers and registration but not a license for the owner.
Gavin Gao nodded, maintaining a calm tone, "Sir, just to be clear, you are currently parked in a no-parking zone. This falls under illegal parking and is a direct violation of city traffic ordinances. That alone comes with a fine and the possibility of towing."
"But beyond that, if you can't present a valid driver's license, that's another violation under Republic Act 4136, carrying a ₱3,000 fine, possible vehicle impoundment, and even disqualification from getting a license for a year if it's habitual." he ended.
"So sir, if you can't show your license, you will be fined, and also the car will be impounded," Gavin Gao finished.
Alexander, hearing this, felt a bit troubled. The car had just been given to him by the system, and now, on his very first drive, it was already at risk of being taken away.
Of course, he felt a slight anger at the situation, but he knew the blame was on him.
If he had at least taken the time to find the proper parking spot, none of this would have happened.
"Can I just pay it here?" Alexander asked.
Gavin's brows furrowed slightly, a hint of hesitation in his expression. He let out a quiet sigh and shook his head.
"I'm afraid that's not allowed, sir," he replied firmly.
"According to standard procedure and the regulations set by the Land Transportation Office and local traffic ordinances, we're not authorized to accept payments directly on-site. All fines must be processed through the proper legal channels either at the city hall, LTO office, or an accredited payment center."
"This is to prevent under-the-table transactions and ensure transparency in all enforcement actions. If I accepted payment here, even with good intentions, I could be accused of misconduct or bribery." he added.
Gavin stood straight, upholding his role despite the pressure, "I hope you understand, I'm just following the rules."
Alexander sighed and nodded his head, "Alright then, just tow my car. I will come and settle it sooner or later," he said calmly, noticing that more and more people were beginning to gather around the scene.
Gavin Gao was stunned by his words. He had expected resistance or for the young man to insist on paying the fine on the spot, but that was not the case at all.
"Thank you for your cooperation, sir," Gavin replied, genuinely surprised but relieved by how smoothly the situation was handled.
"Don't mention it. Is there a taxi driver here who can give me a ride?" Alexander called out aloud.
But before he could find anyone, the young man he was familiar with stepped forward, his face filled with excitement.
"Big brother, big brother! I have a car. I can give you a ride home," he said eagerly, showing his car keys.
Alexander nodded, appreciating the offer.
Without wasting time, he and the young man left together, as Alexander was already feeling uncomfortable with so many cameras pointed at him.
The crowd watching the scene felt disappointed, and even the nearby taxi drivers shared the same feeling.
Many of those who were recording had expected the car's owner to lose his temper, maybe even confront or slap the well-known Gavin Gao, who was famous for towing cars.
But to their surprise, none of that happened. The situation ended calmly, far from the drama they had been hoping to capture.
From the beginning to the end, Alexander remained fully cooperative, never once showing off his power or trying to use money to solve the situation.
The taxi drivers, on the other hand, were left disappointed.
They realized that if they had reacted just a little faster, they might have secured a generous fare.
Unfortunately, they were too slow to seize the opportunity right in front of them.
