I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 92: Poor Bunny

Chapter 92: Poor Bunny

[Look at bunny Felix climbing into my bed! (˶>ᴗ<˶) ] the message from Kade said.

And there was a photo attached. Of Felix the bunny, lying on top of Kade. On his bare chest, resting right on top of Kade’s well-sculpted abs. What a lucky... that is, poor creature!

Felix (the werewolf) let out a sigh, putting his phone down as he tried to keep the twitching corners of his mouth down. Then, he went to prepare a meal for himself, fed Vivi and Remi (who approached the food reluctantly, pushing it around with his snout until it grew cold, still apprehensive after the recent liquorice surprise), and only then did he get back to his phone.

He needed some time to think about how to respond, after all.

[You shouldn’t mistreat your bunny like that.] was what he eventually texted back.

And he didn’t have to wait long for a response.

[Mistreat? How did I mistreat him?]

[You shouldn’t force your bunny onto your bare chest.]

[I didn’t force him! He climbed there on his own!] Kade tried defending himself, but Felix only texted him back a short,

[...Right.] in response.

[I really didn’t do anything! ( •̀ ᴖ •́ ) ] Kade pouted.

To which, Felix chuckled, and put down his phone. He still didn’t quite believe Kade, but...

His phone vibrated again.

[As if you’re one to talk! ( •̀ ᴖ •́ ) ]

’What do you...’ Felix started typing again, but before he even finished the sentence, his whole face flushed.

Kade meant Felix allowing his ’pet’ fox to hide under his shirt, no?

But unlike Felix the bunny, Remi the fox wasn’t an actual fox, but a shifter! And he really did sneak into his clothes on his own! At that time Felix did allow him in, due to the circumstances and all, but he wasn’t so shameless as to put any pets, real or not, on his bare chest! And to take photos and send them on top of that!

Before he could decide how - or if - to respond, yet another message arrived.

[Are you going to ignore me again? ( ˶•ᴖ•) !!]

Felix pressed his lips. Kade probably meant last month, when Felix didn’t respond to any messages he might have sent in that period. Which obviously hasn’t been Felix’s intention, but...

Should he just go along with it? Just say that he needed some time just for himself first. It was a plausible explanation...

But what if Kade asked about something he had texted earlier? Felix never received those messages. And the Alpha probably knew it as well. Even on Felix’s smartphone, he could see when the message was delivered and then read, so there was no way that Kade wouldn’t have noticed.

Then what, say that he blocked his number temporarily? Or that his ’pet’ fox did it? No, putting aside that then he’d be admitting that Remi was more than just a fox, how was he going to explain why Kade was unblocked now? If the fox did it, then Felix wouldn’t even know about it, not unless he himself tried to contact Kade... Or looked at his contact details for some other reason.

Well, actually, did that even matter? They were over now, and although perhaps Kade hasn’t moved on yet, it was only a matter of time. There was no need to overthink it so much, now was there...?

[ (╥﹏╥) ]

’Ah, for Goddess’ sake...’ Felix let out a sigh.

[I didn’t mean to ignore you. There was just something wrong with my phone, so I didn’t receive any calls or messages. I got it fixed now, though.] he texted back.

It... wasn’t even a lie, not entirely. There had been ’something wrong’ with his phone - that is, with the settings of a few of his contacts. Courtesy of a certain red fox. And it was ’fixed’ now, since Felix had them all unblocked. Yes, it was a bit of a stretch to explain it that way, but he didn’t owe Kade a full explanation. Those were his... domestic problems. It was personal.

And Kade didn’t ask for any details. He just wrote, [Is that so? Then you didn’t ignore me on purpose?]

[No, I didn’t.]

But perhaps Felix should have. Because there immediately came a response, [What a relief! ⸜(。˃ᵕ˂ )⸝♡ ]...

Followed by, [Then I’ll resend you everything you have missed!]

And a whole collection of photos.

Well, okay, perhaps it wasn’t all that much. Only ten messages. Considering it’s been a month since Kade left Silverfall, it was only about 2-3 messages per week. Very reserved, at least as far as Kade was concerned. Felix would have expected a whole barrage of messages, since based on his previous experience, the Alpha could be a true spam machine at times. But perhaps because they had broken their bond now, and were supposed to take a ’break’ from each other, he was being more reasonable now?

Of course, only by a bit. Sending Felix photos on which Kade’s bare chest was ’accidentally’ showing, or writing messages with a double meaning could hardly be considered appropriate in their situation, but it showed Felix that even though their bond was gone, nothing really had changed between them.

Which shouldn’t be a good thing. That wasn’t what Felix had intended with this whole deal...

But he still couldn’t stop the corners of his lips from rising.

His phone vibrated again, as new messages arrived, asking Felix to respond to all of those old messages, but Felix had already tossed his phone away. For now. He was a busy person, he didn’t have time to spend the whole day texting with some Alpha! He still had to hang his daughter and take the laundry for a walk!

Ah, well, the other way around, that is.

He stood up, ignoring his phone that vibrated again, and took the clothes out of the washing machine. The weather was nice, it was a hot, summer day, so he hung the laundry outside to dry, put Vivi in the pram, while trying not to think where he got it from, and went out for a walk in the park.
