I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL] -
Chapter 91: Reasons Behind The Silence
Chapter 91: Reasons Behind The Silence
Who would have thought that a simple meeting with a friend for a little chat could throw Felix into such an emotional turmoil? Even when Eden had long left, his mind was still hooked on that one simple question. He tried to distract himself with other things, but it still always returned, like a boomerang, smacking him right in the face.
Was Kade already all over it?
That would be a good thing, of course. It was sad, because it showed that all of Kade’s so-called feelings came from the fated bond... But Felix already expected that much. And it was for the best, since that meant the Alpha would now have no reason to return and try to pursue Felix again. After all, while he might have agreed to this... deal, if you could call it that, it was only because he had no better option. And he was betting on Kade moving on from him and never coming back. Because Felix had no intention of joining the Bloodmoon Pack, ESPECIALLY not as a Luna-to-be, so there was no way that he and Kade... That they could ever be together...
There just wasn’t.
But! It was just so frustrating! Kade had kissed him back then, before leaving, soaked in the rain, on the porch, so intensely as if the world was ending. And now that annoying Alpha was stuck in Felix’s head! He could push the thoughts away on a normal day, busy with caring for his daughter... But one little mention, and the memory of Kade’s lips on his hit him back with full force, without fail.
He was so deep in this emotional swamp. And yet, the very person who had done that to him, was all fine and over it? Just how unfair was that?!
Felix checked his phone, scrolling through the chat and call logs, to check if perhaps he had just missed it, being so busy with Vivi and all... But no. There was nothing from Kade. And nothing from Fen or the guards either, but that was to be expected - Felix wasn’t close to them or anything, their only connection was through Kade, so if the Alpha didn’t care about him any longer, they didn’t have any reason to contact him either.
The last message from Kade was [I’m on my way! ( ˘ ³˘)♥ ] sent over six weeks ago, right before their serious conversation, when Felix told Kade that he wouldn’t accept him for as long as they were fated mates...
And after that, nothing. Null. Zero. Perfect silence...
Well, if Kade could move on so easily, then Felix certainly wasn’t going to waste any time thinking about him either! Huffing and puffing, he tossed his phone away...
Only to check it again an hour or so later.
Of course, he could have reached out first if he wanted to. Send a simple message. For example, to let him know that the pram the Alpha had bought him was serving him well, and thank him for the gift once again. It wasn’t a big deal, just a message. Felix could very well do it, it wasn’t a matter of pride or anything. If he wanted to keep in touch, then he didn’t mind being the one to make the first step...
Except that it was a good thing if their connection completely ended up here. Felix shouldn’t reach out, and lead Kade on... Not that it would matter if Kade had truly moved on, but still. Felix should just accept that the bond was all that ever was between them, and close this Chapter of his life as well...
Still, he couldn’t help but to check his phone every now and then. The switch between the Alpha pursuing him and then the complete silence was just so shocking, that’s all...
It was only two days later that he finally noticed something... odd. He had pressed on Kade’s name on the contact list, opening the details...
"...Hmm? What’s that?" he muttered to himself, staring at the text on his screen.
[Kade B.
Blocked
XXXXXXXX....]
...Blocked?
Felix most certainly didn’t remember ever blocking Kade. Or anyone, actually. Not even Jared. Of course, Jared didn’t have his current phone number, but Felix still had added him, just so that he would immediately know if his former pack leader ever tried contacting him... How would he get Felix’s number without finding him first, Felix didn’t know, but that wasn’t the point right now.
Kade’s number was blocked. Since when, it was unclear, but it could be a possible explanation as to WHY he hasn’t texted him - that is, maybe he did try to reach out, but it just wouldn’t come through.
Felix quickly checked his other contacts, and it turned out that Fen and the guards were also blocked. All of his connections with the Bloodmoon Pack were blocked.
How could that possibly happen? Was it something Felix had unknowingly done in his sleep? Or...
He eyed the fox curled up on his bed suspiciously. "Remi, did you touch my phone?"
But Remi only tilted his head, blinking with confusion, a picture of innocence.
Or at least pretending to be innocent. But Felix had never suffered from somnambulism or anything. As for Remi...
’That sneaky...’ Felix let out a sigh, shaking his head as he unblocked the contacts. As expected, you should never trust a fox! Not too much, at least. Foxes were cunning and crafty, and if you gave them a chance, they would just play tricks on you!
Did that warrant a liquorice surprise in Remi’s meal? Felix hesitated for a moment, looking at the soft ball of fur, and those beautiful blue eyes... But in the end, he pressed his lips, determined.
Perhaps it did! If he always just let things slide, then Remi would only grow bolder with his mischiefs!
Sighing once again, he put his phone away. Now that the contacts were all unblocked, he decided to wait for a few days to see if Kade would reach out.
And sure enough, only two days later, he received a message.
