It felt mesmerizing to Rhett. On his knees, breathing hard, looking downwards, he smiled, just for a short while and stood up, his hands wide open in the air, raising it up.

The surviving dragon slayers looked at him and they could only bow, their eyes gleaming in awe. Ash and Haicor ran over to where he was and stared at him in the face.

"Damn!", Ash exclaimed. "You’re powerful!".

And then he faced the crowd, bracing himself to do a compulsory act. Something he had been doing since, anytime Rhett found victory. It wasn’t too often but it was on occasions that called for one.

"ALL HAIL KING RHETT, KING OF THE DRAGON SLAYERS!".

The crowd echoed:

"ALL HAIL KING RHETT, KING OF THE DRAGON SLAYERS".

A blast of a horn tore through the place and went into the horizon, filling it.

Rhett looked at the direction it was coming from and saw that it was a young knight, a young man actually but carrying a miniature body, perhaps a misshape, which made him carry the uncanny resemblance of a kid.

Rhett looked at the skies and kept raising his hands up. Haicor drew nearer to Ash and said:

"It was in the prophecy. It was written in the book I’m holding that a horn would blast and he would look to the sky, seeming like a demigod".

Ash looked at her in the face for about five seconds and said:

"But he is now a demigod, he seems too powerful, he ought to be".

Haicor scoffed. "He is powerful, but not as much as you want to make it sound. In all my little years of reading history books, I’ve read a lot about monsters in this village and their tiers and I’m telling you, Rhett hasn’t awakened a rank that will make him near a demigod".

Ash could only reply to her with"Hmmm".

He looked at Rhett and was about to walk over to him but stopped. Dhamsel, standing in akimbo from the crowd, stared at them and could only shake her head in astonishment. She was shaking her head just a bit to the left and right repeatedly, a grimace on her face.

Ash, looking at her and seeing she didn’t bow didn’t really care. He and Haicor were not bowing so why should she?. Rhett wasn’t a demigod by the way so all this reverend stuff to him was kind of uncalled for. But again, he decided it would show how mighty he had become, at least to his subjects.

Ash was surprised when he heard a grunt, tracing the sound to the crowd, he looked and saw Dhamsel who was being pulled down by a knight. She was forcefully subjected to be on her knees and even though she made some little sounds for help, no one actually came to her rescue and so she had to kneel for the ’ALMIGHTY’ king Rhett.

Rhett now beat his chest and walked nearer to the crowd:

"Who’s your king!".

They responded with a roar:

"You m’lord!" .

Rhett walked over to Haicor and said:

"Summon some large birds, we will be leaving here by air", he said to Haicor who responded with a nod.

She wanted to say no, but with his demeanor looking fierce and stern, she decided to give it a go. Her reason for wanting to say no was because this place was basically a desert, except it wasn’t too hot as one should be. So birds?, they ought to be scarce here.

Nonetheless she decided she was going to give it a shot. Sitting on the bare and dry ground, her face to the skies, her hands up in the air, she whistled and clapped her hands.

The wind almost jerked her off the ground, but she managed to pin herself on it nonetheless, the dark sky indifferent, still dark and rumbling.

She immediately stood up, scenting something, something ferocious, something that came with a large about of wind-

Nothing!

There were no birds actually, nothing at all. She had expected it but happening, she had this ’I had known’ look on her face.

Rhett looked at her, shocked. "Where are the birds?".

Haicor faced him.

"There’s no bird", she said. "None at all".

Rhett twisted his neck to the side a bit and faced the crowd, his face thoughtful.

’There’s more perilous times ahead and no bird? damnit!’, he thought.

He looked at the crowd and said:

"You guys got any useful abilities that will help us to continue our journey?.".

The crowd muttered to themselves and Rhett waited, patiently, quite a difference to how he appeared. He now squinted his eyes, looking at them, soon letting out a shrug.

"So-?", he asked, opening his palms for them to see.

Finally a voice shot out from the crowd:

"We can summon dragons!."

Rhett scoffed, not in disbelief but for how daft they were, he was even surprised that one was asking about Daxer, perhaps they would later ask he didn’t know.

"Then why didn’t you guys earlier speak", Rhett shot at them.

They stuttered, then a voice again:

"We thought you knew. King vongarth had earlier told you he was the one that summoned the Ember dragon".

Rhett squinted his eyes the more and finally let out a sigh.

"Alright", he said. "Summon the dragon alread-", he paused and clearing his throat, he said: "The dragons, summon the ’dragons’ already". He put a lot of stress on saying the word ’dragons’.

An old knight stepped forward. They were wasting no time now. Raising his hands in the air, he brought it down and hit it on the floor.

First, it seemed to have no effect.

He hit it the second time.

Little effect.

He raised it higher and hitting his hands on the floor, it shook and trembled. It seemed like an earthquake.
