Chapter 538: The Ultimate Vessel

Chapter 538: The Ultimate Vessel

Adam’s chaotic Mana Circuits

Rank:Tier 8

Rarity: Mythic Material

Description:

An aberration created by Adam’s mad copy by melding beast and human systems after thirteen years of relentless research. These chaotic mana circuits are evolving and adapting constantly.

Message from the copy: Suck it up because I’m the best researcher, and you’ll never beat this masterpiece. Still, I’m grateful that you saved my sunshine and wish you luck on your path.

Abilities:

Chaotic Evolution: The circuits randomly mutate and evolve like a living being, granting you unlimited potential on the magic path.

Adaptive Resonance: The circuits resonate with your emotions to increase your mana’s potency.

Adaptive Mastery: The circuits rapidly adapt to any flow, allowing you to learn and master new spells in record time.

Mana Vortex: The circuits can create a swirling vortex around you that absorbs ambient mana to replenish your reserves or create a dead zone for adversary spell casters.

He exhaled sharply, his eyes sparkling and narrowing into determined slits as the pulsing circuits hovered above his palm.

Like cells, they pulsed with a sky-blue radiance in an intricate human-sized network that forced an admirative whistle out of his lips.

"I’ll give you that. You’re the best researcher! How did you even come up with this aberration? Hahaha! Not only will I become the best mage with them, but I’ll be the ultimate nightmare for any mana user!"

Without wasting a second, he extended his spectral arms wide open. A flurry of sparks accompanied the movement as seven other body parts condensed and swirled around him. The dan tian and mana circuits joined them as he made them spin using his mana in a grand show no one but he would ever see.

"Nine materials, nine body parts, each of the mythical rank and covering a different tier from one to nine." Barely able to contain his spilling desire, he gripped his trembling fist. "A fifteen-year quest in a dangerous world I knew nothing about, left to fend for myself and struggle with horrible moral dilemmas, but today, this instant, it comes to an end. Today, I’ll walk on my own two feet. Today, I’ll have my own body!"

As he roared the last part, he threw himself and the materials into the fusion pool without hesitation.

SPLASH

The sparkling water rose as it engulfed his figure.

A notification window appeared before his eyes, asking him to confirm his crazy idea. Yet, nothing would stop him now!

[Are you sure you want to merge with nine mythical materials? The process can’t be undone.]

"Start it!" He roared from the depths of his soul as he smashed YES.

A deafening buzzing engulfed the room the next second.

Dense streams of mana and life force waltzed into the water from the open ceiling in an intricate dance that awed and relaxed him before the two energies guided the water currents to encase him and the materials in a pulsing cocoon.

The materials melted and covered him like a suit before he felt them sink into his soul. Yet, a sudden notification diverted his attention, and where there should have been joy, his frame shuddered in panic.

[I knew you could do it, brat. With the fusion process, your soul will loosen and allow me to retrieve Prometheus! Endure the pain and enjoy what comes next.]

"Why are you all hurting my soul all the time?! And what comes next? I don’t want it! Keep your surprises and leave me alone!"

As his frustrated roar echoed, the hateful pain of something sharp splitting his soul assaulted his nerves, forcing his jaws to clench and his ethereal teeth to crack in pain. But he focused on something else.

’Enjoy?’

What was there to enjoy with the horrible eye overlooking the world from the split sky and its threats? Speaking about the eye, did it take him already? Why was he not feeling anything? He pondered the question before his pupils constricted.

Dread’s icy fingers gripped him by the throat, suffocating him more than the pain as he remembered the cracking noises and the bizarre feeling when he entered his soul sea.

’N-No! Don’t tell me she did that!’

Now that she mentioned Prometheus, he remembered them!

’She brought me here through a world passage! My soul isn’t in the magic world right now, and I’m inside Atlas’ eyes! What’s her goal? Why me?!’

The realisation thundered in his mind while a scalpel cleaved a part of his soul with a veteran surgeon’s precision under Luna’s flawless control.

The pain lasted thirty seconds before he saw a sleeping golden soul harboring Prometheus’ features drift outside the cocoon.

Despite his chaotic emotions, he couldn’t help but offer him a solemn nod and pray for his future.

’You’ll reunite with her, at least. I’m sure she’ll help you get a body for yourself, and I wish you happiness after everything you did on earth.’

Simultaneously, a blissful sensation engulfed him as the melted materials resumed their work.

Decarabia’s demonic bones settled first, regrowing to accommodate his soul’s size and giving his body an unbreakable frame. Triton’s tendons emerged next, glinting in a contrasting ethereal and physical hue.

Then, the Heart of Mana and Lin Yao’s dan tian appeared in the chest and abdomen, their beating jolting the water and shoving a flux of potent mana and Qi into the conductive tendons.

Misha’s genetic code followed. Devouring the materials’ clashing properties, it worked to build the nervous, pulmonary, blood, and meridian systems. A brain gradually formed inside the skull before thick veins connected everything together.

Thoma’s legs and Durgrim’s hands came next. Their ethereal and physical attributes melted into the DNA to reinforce it as it recreated them in a more fitting appearance.

Like a maestro guiding an orchestra, it condensed tight muscles that radiated power despite their lean appearance. Spotless white skin covered them before Gaston’s sky-blue eyes formed in his empty eye sockets.

The copy’s mana circuits connected themselves to his heart before the chaotic channels melded into his muscles and cells to exist both physically and ethereally.

For the last touch, hair sprouted from his bald head, its texture like the most refined silk in the world, with each strand shimmering a vivid sky-blue color.

A boundless surge of Qi and mana flowed through him, seizing his trembling frame in a sensation of incredible power.

But it didn’t matter to him.

Instead, he focused on the subtle noises and sensations of his body. The groaning of his bones, his heart drumming in his ears, the feeling of the cold water licking his skin, and his hair caressing his neck.

’I-It’s not a dream? I-I finally have a body?’

Warm tears trailed down his cheeks as he pinched his supple skin before he felt his face, nose, torso, and legs.

A wave of relief engulfed his thoughts as he confirmed they were real, and a bright smile crept up on his quivering lips.

’It took fifteen years, but I have it! I DID IT! I have crafted the ultimate body for myself, never again to wander as an unseen and unheard ghost! I am whole— the one and only Adam!

His fist cut through the water’s powerful currents in a triumphant pose, blasting it outwards in a shimmering pillar with this simple gesture.

He swam out and stood on the pool’s slabs, feeling the chilly breeze ruffle his wet hair as droplets flew around him.

However, another notification instantly appeared, forcing his blue eyes to squint and his smile to crumble.

[The magic world is too dangerous for you. Therefore, I temporarily banish you from it and the dream place’s eleventh area. You’ll restart your life from scratch and enjoy your younger years with her in a safe place.]

"W-Wait! Julius is still there! Nova and Arun are, too. They’ll need me to survive!"

His fist whistled through the notification, unwillingness and rage fueling the strike as he thought about all the people he would leave behind.

Yet, another line of text appeared, reminding him that he couldn’t comprehend or come close to Luna’s level.

[They recently slowed time further. Now, twenty years there is equivalent to one here. Use this opportunity to search for Xiǎo Huā and learn to wield your strength and elemental affinities. Anyway, I’m not negotiating with you!]

As blood drained from his handsome face, a horrifying pressure collapsed on his shoulders. His powerful legs bent under it as his bones cracked and shifted.

His heart almost exploded in horror as he felt the changes occurring powerlessly. His limbs shortened, his taunt muscles became fat, and his skin wrinkled.

His pupils constricted as he saw his baby’s hands and felt all the powers he had once possessed vanish like a mirage.

A world passage cracked space open like glass behind him next before a soft fabric draped his baby’s body out of nowhere as a final notification appeared.

[I wish you good luck in your new life for the second time.]

"GAH!"

He tried to roar his outrage and reluctance, but only a cute baby’s gurgle reverberated. His face froze in disbelief, and tears streamed down his face as he understood he couldn’t do anything to stop her from sending him away from his friends.

Indeed, Luna didn’t give him a choice and started to push him towards the swirling mana with a soft stream of life force.

Faced with the inevitable outcome and already inside the vortex, he bit his rosy lips and gazed at the fusion pool’s doors.

’Please, please, everyone! Survive until I return, please!’

With this last thought, he landed on a verdant slope before the world passage closed, leaving him stranded in a foreign world, alone and as a baby.
