Chapter 347 - Chapter 347 Chapter 343 Unlucky Bao Yuan

Chapter 347: Chapter 343 Unlucky Bao Yuan Chapter 347: Chapter 343 Unlucky Bao Yuan In the second layer of the suitcase, there was a pure black tactical vest neatly folded.

This tactical vest was different from the usual styles, with no pockets on it, but rather a multitude of little holes similar to dagger bags, filled with various meticulously crafted, small and exquisite hidden weapons.

The entire tactical vest resembled the ancient soft hedgehog armor, shimmering with a metallic luster.

This was Fang Xiaocao’s dream gear.

On the offensive, it could adapt to various environments using hidden weapons to attack enemies and on the defensive, it could serve as a stab-proof and bulletproof vest, protecting the body’s vital areas.

Next to the tactical vest lay arm and leg guards, also filled with hidden weapons, greatly increasing Xiaocao’s reserve of concealed armaments.

Xiaocao, unable to put it down, caressed the tactical vest lovingly and drew a flying dagger, holding it in her hand, making several pretend throwing motions.

The flying dagger was extraordinarily light yet surprisingly sharp.

Although the excessive lightness could affect the accuracy of the hidden weapon after it was thrown, with Xiaocao’s skill, the impact was negligible at medium and short ranges.

Ever since she learnt from the secret manual of hidden weapons, Xiaocao grew even more fond of these gadgets.

Previously sticking to flying daggers and steel nails, now seeing such an array of different hidden weapons, she naturally couldn’t get enough of them.

Seeing Xiaocao so content, Taotie also breathed a sigh of relief, no longer having to fear a reckoning come autumn.

“Princess Your Highness, may I go back to my room, huh?”

Taotie ventured to ask.

“Go, scram!”

Xiaocao waved her hand, signaling Taotie to leave quickly and stop getting in her way.

At the moment, Xiaocao’s attention was entirely on the tactical vest in her hands, wishing Taotie would disappear immediately so she could try on the vest and see if it fit.

Hearing Xiaocao’s words, Taotie felt like he had received an amnesty, picked up his suitcase, and ran off, fearing that any delay might lead Xiaocao to change her mind.

After Taotie left, Xiaocao locked the room door.

She took off her coat and put on the tactical vest.

Turning around in front of the mirror, Xiaocao nodded in satisfaction; the size was just right, it wasn’t too heavy, and it didn’t hinder her movements.

Throwing on a loose-fitting coat over it, one couldn’t tell there was anything underneath at all.

Taotie, back in his own room, opened his suitcase.

The gear inside Taotie’s suitcase was completely different from Xiaocao’s.

There were two guns inside the suitcase.

And easily a hundred rounds of ammunition.

Plus a couple of daggers and a few grenades.

Taotie took a gun, two ammo clips, and a dagger, which he secured close to his body for self-defense.

He locked his suitcase and hid it in the bathroom’s ceiling, to prevent theft.

After finishing his preparations, Taotie glanced at the time, 11:25 in the morning!

“It’s noon already!”

“Time for lunch!”

Muttering to himself, Taotie left the room.

He arrived at Xiaocao’s door.

Knock knock knock–

Taotie knocked on the door.

Creak–

The door opened, and Xiaocao appeared at the entrance, seeing Taotie, she asked, “What is it?”

“Princess Your Highness, it’s time to eat!”

Taotie said, looking obedient.

“Let’s go, we’ll eat out!”

“Let’s try some local delicacies today.”

Xiaocao grabbed her cell phone and room card, and together with Taotie, they stepped into the elevator.

Walking out of the hotel, Xiaocao turned to Taotie with a teasing tone and said, “Seeing as you didn’t come home last night on your first day, you must be quite familiar with this place, right?”

Taotie chuckled awkwardly, “Somewhat, yeah.”

“Familiar, how could you not be!”

“The kid is already five years old, it’s my first time meeting it, what do you say, familiar or not?”

Taotie muttered complaints in its heart.

“Lead the way. If it doesn’t taste good, I’ll roast you.”

Fang Xiaocao didn’t care what Taotie was thinking.

She directly tasked Taotie with leading her to try the exotic delicacies of New Province.

Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s words, Taotie gave a wry smile. If you asked him where the good wine was, even after years of not returning, Taotie could recount them all, but these special snacks…

Taotie, a rough and simple creature, always felt that being full was good enough, never paying special attention to the food.

Taotie stared around with its eyes scanning the area.

Xiaocao didn’t rush it.

She just quietly waited to see what kind of trouble Taotie was going to stir up this time.

Suddenly, Taotie’s eyes lit up.

It raised its hand and beckoned towards the opposite side of the street.

Xiaocao looked at the street across with confusion.

She saw a tall young man across the street, pointing at himself with a baffled expression.

Taotie nodded and jerked its finger, and the young man immediately jogged over.

Seeing this scene, Xiaocao’s gaze shifted suspiciously back and forth between Taotie and the young man.

“Uncle… ”

The word “sir” hadn’t yet left Bao Yuan’s mouth when Taotie slapped him on the shoulder, causing Bao Yuan to wince in pain and forcibly swallow the word “sir” that had reached his lips.

“Little Bao, I have a task for you. Lead us to some distinctive snacks. If they are not tasty, I’ll flay you and roast you!”

With that, Taotie revealed a ferocious smile.

Gulp–

Bao Yuan swallowed nervously.

He nodded repeatedly and replied, “No problem!”

“Hmm!”

Taotie nodded in satisfaction, “Lead the way!”

“Brother, this way please!”

Bao Yuan gestured invitingly.

Xiaocao’s gaze continued to sweep back and forth between Taotie and Bao Yun, feeling there was something fishy going on between the two men.

It seemed like they were hiding something from her.

Under Bao Yuan’s guidance, Xiaocao and Taotie arrived at a reasonably spacious snack shop. Bao Yuan whispered to the shop owner for a while, and the owner nodded, then hurried out.

Seeing this, Xiaocao was taken aback.

“What’s going on?”

“Why did the owner run off?”

“Doesn’t he want his shop anymore?”

Xiaocao asked in confusion.

“Don’t worry about him. Sit anywhere. The owner went out to buy the most authentic local special snacks. Only these shop owners know whose snacks are the most authentic.”

Bao Yuan casually opened the fridge, took out some drinks, gestured Xiaocao to sit anywhere, and continued to answer her questions.

Xiaocao looked at Taotie, seeking with her eyes who Bao Yun was.

Such divine moves by Bao Yun clearly weren’t right. In even the most hospitable places, there were no owners so generous that they’d leave their business unattended to run out and buy snacks, right?

Taotie chuckled awkwardly and glared fiercely at Bao Yun, who was feeling inexplicably puzzled, not knowing what he had done wrong.

Xiaocao observed the interaction between Taotie and Bao Yun, becoming certain that Taotie and this Bao Yun were keeping an unspeakable secret from her.

Facing Xiaocao’s scrutinizing gaze, Taotie was truly on pins and needles.

“It’s over, it’s over…”

“Princess Your Highness has found out!”

Taotie moaned inwardly.

At the same time, it bitterly wanted to drag Bao Yun out and give him a good beating to vent its frustration.

Unaware, Bao Yun didn’t know that he could get shot while lying down. The two individuals in front of him that he couldn’t afford to provoke–one didn’t consider him a good person, and the other was holding back an urge to beat him up.
