I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 291 - True God Sword
"I said I wouldn’t save you. Why are you still standing here?" Xu Zimo frowned.
"Young Master, have you heard of the legend of the True God Sword?" the little girl asked after a long silence, finally raising her head.
"I’ve heard of it," Xu Zimo nodded in reply.
Legend has it that between Heaven and Earth, a divine sword was once born.
Someone wielded this sword to split the heavens and the earth. Eventually, he pointed the sword at the sky and ushered in a whole new era.
After that, the sword shattered into five pieces and scattered across the world.
The legend, though ancient and likely exaggerated, has shown signs of truth in recent times.
Fragments of the divine sword have indeed resurfaced, sparking bloody conflicts.
……
"Why are you telling me all this?" Xu Zimo asked with a curious smile.
"The people of the Thousand Sword Gate are after me because of the sword fragment," the little girl replied.
"So what? I’m not interested in the sword, and I don’t want to get involved with the Thousand Sword Gate either," Xu Zimo replied.
Hearing this, the girl's expression changed slightly.
She hadn’t expected Xu Zimo to reject her so decisively.
After another brief silence, the girl sighed and said, "Actually, I am one of the fragments of the True God Sword."
"I thought you were going to keep hiding it," Xu Zimo said with a smirk.
"You already knew?" the girl asked, surprised.
"No. I just knew you weren’t a living being," Xu Zimo replied.
"So… will you help me now?" the girl asked tentatively.
"As I said, all under Heaven bustle for profit, all push and jostle for gain," Xu Zimo replied. "If you can offer me something in return, I’ll help you."
"I am one of the five fragments of the sword. As long as I’m within a certain range, I can sense the others," the girl explained. "I can help you reassemble the True God Sword."
"Then why don’t you help the Thousand Sword Gate instead? Why tell me this?" Xu Zimo asked.
"Because they don’t really want to restore the sword," the girl said quickly. "They just want to capture me, melt me down, and forge me into a sword by myself."
"Alright then. Stay by my side," Xu Zimo nodded.
"Really?" the girl asked, surprised and delighted.
"Let’s set a deadline. Three years. Help me gather all the fragments within that time. If you fail, I’ll have no choice but to melt you down too," Xu Zimo said plainly.
"Okay," the girl agreed after a moment’s thought, then nodded.
……
Outside, the night deepened, and the faint moonlight was almost hidden behind dark clouds.
Xu Zimo sat silently with his eyes closed, deep in thought. Seeing he had no intention of sending her away, the little girl curled up on a chair, resting her head on the table and fell asleep.
Inside his body, Xu Zimo entered the River of Fate with the Primordial Chaos Bead.
He wanted to explore the forgotten history of the True God Sword.
After all, legends are not always reliable.
……
The Legendary Era was divided into several phases.
First, the War God ended the Godsfall.
After that, monsters ruled the land, oppressing all living things.
At the end of the Legendary Era, a strange place appeared on the continent, Flower Valley.
Someone lived there.
There were many rumors about this person.
Some said he was a transformed beast, some said he was a reincarnated flower spirit, and others claimed he was a naturally born elemental spirit.
But no one could deny that this person left behind a legend during the Desolate Era.
As brilliant as the sun streaking across the sky.
Comparable to Grand Emperor Zhen Wu, who once brought the dawn of a prosperous era.
One day, the flowers in Flower Valley withered.
The man walked out of the valley, wielding the True God Sword, and pierced the heavens.
No one knew how he had gained such overwhelming power.
He was just a gardener, yet he suppressed that entire era.
He drove the monsters into the Blood Realm and sealed them away.
From then on, the Legendary Era ended, the beast race flourished, and the unprecedented Desolate Era began.
The man founded the Celestial Court, ruling the Desolate Era.
But one day, he suddenly vanished.
His weapon, the True God Sword, shattered into several fragments scattered across the continent.
The Celestial Court he built sealed itself.
Since then, the world was left with a legend: Whoever gathers all the fragments of the True God Sword can unlock the Celestial Court and inherit the legacy of the True God, becoming the pioneer of a new era.
……
Xu Zimo awoke from the River of Fate and slowly exhaled.
He looked up and saw the little girl fast asleep at the table.
He got out of bed and quietly opened the door.
It was already dawn, the first light of day breaking over the horizon.
Downstairs, the innkeeper was wiping the tables.
"Did anyone come by last night?" Xu Zimo asked.
"Sir," the innkeeper quickly replied, "disciples from the Thousand Sword Gate came by to search the place."
"They didn’t check my room?" Xu Zimo asked.
"No, they told me to treat you well," the innkeeper replied.
Xu Zimo nodded.
He asked the innkeeper to prepare breakfast. By morning, the little girl had also awakened.
……
"What’s your name?" Xu Zimo asked.
"Bluesoul," the girl answered while drinking her porridge.
Just then, a large group of Thousand Sword Gate disciples burst in.
Leading them was Qian Renchi.
"Master, that’s her," one of the disciples said quickly.
Qian Renchi frowned slightly. When he saw Xu Zimo sitting nearby, his expression changed.
"Isn’t this Brother Xu? What a coincidence," Xu Zimo said with a smile.
"Have you eaten? Want to join me?"
"No, no," Qian Renchi quickly shook his head. He looked hesitantly at Bluesoul and asked, "Who is this young lady?"
"My sister. Why? Is there a problem?" Xu Zimo frowned.
"No, not at all. Just passing by," Qian Renchi said quickly.
"Then don’t disturb my meal," Xu Zimo said casually.
With a wave of his hand, Qian Renchi led all the disciples out of the inn.
Watching this, Bluesoul finally let out a breath of relief.
"Thank you," she whispered to Xu Zimo.
"Remember, you have only three years. I want the True God Sword," Xu Zimo said as he continued eating.
……
Outside the inn, Qian Renchi led his disciples away.
Someone asked, "Master, what do we do now?"
"How should I know?" Qian Renchi replied coldly.
"Should we spread the news and stir up the waters?" someone suggested.
"They’ll be leaving the Holyflower Region in a few days, it’s useless," Qian Renchi shook his head, thinking aloud. "Rather than fight a losing battle, we might as well leave a good impression."
Seven days passed quickly.
Once the Mo Imperial Clan finished setting up the teleportation array, Xu Zimo officially set out on his journey.
