I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 290 - Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Physique
After the destruction of the Death God Palace and the Radiant Temple's withdrawal from power, the Thousand Sword Gate had become the strongest force in Dark Corner Capital.
Xu Zimo headed straight for the Thousand Sword Gate’s headquarters within the city.
As soon as he approached, two guards stepped forward to block him.
“I’m looking for your sect master,” Xu Zimo said flatly.
“Our sect master doesn’t meet with just anyone. Get lost,” one guard replied arrogantly.
Xu Zimo didn’t waste time, he drew his blade and killed one of them on the spot.
The other guard was so terrified he dropped to his knees, trembling.
“H-he’s not here… He just left. Probably went to the Black Horn Tavern,” the guard stammered.
Xu Zimo frowned slightly. The Black Horn Tavern was the largest tavern in Dark Corner Capital.
Rumor had it that some hidden power was supporting it from the shadows.
Otherwise, no business could survive in such a chaotic place without strong backing.
Without delay, Xu Zimo headed toward the Black Horn Tavern.
That day, the tavern had been rented out entirely.
Xu Zimo kicked aside the two guards at the entrance and walked in directly.
Inside the spacious hall, only one table of people sat drinking.
In the center of the tavern, a group of dancers was singing and performing. Laughter filled the air.
The moment Xu Zimo barged in, the atmosphere froze.
All eyes turned toward him.
“Who the hell are you?” a man slapped the table angrily and shouted.
“Zhuo’er, sit down,” said a middle-aged man in a blue robe with a frown.
Then the man stood up, smiling as he walked toward Xu Zimo.
“You must be Young Master Xu?”
“You know me?” Xu Zimo asked indifferently.
“Your destruction of the Death God Palace is well known throughout Dark Corner Capital,” the man replied with a smile.
“I’ve heard the stories. I am Qian Renci, sect master of the Thousand Sword Gate.”
“Sect Master Qian,” Xu Zimo said coldly, “it seems your sect isn’t very happy with me.”
“No, no, not at all,” Qian Renci said quickly. “If we’ve offended you somehow, please say so, and I’ll apologize.”
“I want to return to the Eastern Continent,” Xu Zimo said. “But I heard your sect has shut down the teleportation arrays in the city?”
“That’s true,” Qian Renci replied, “we’re searching for someone. She’s hiding somewhere in Dark Corner Capital, and we’re afraid she might escape through the arrays.”
“But that rule is only for ordinary people. For a young powerhouse like you, Young Master Xu, you can use them freely.”
“Senior brother,” the man who had slapped the table earlier spoke up urgently.
“Shut up! This is no place for your mouth,” Qian Renci snapped, his tone turning stern.
The man sat down begrudgingly, clearly unhappy.
“You do know how to act properly,” Xu Zimo said with a faint smile.
“To be honest, I was planning to treat your sect the same way I did the Death God Palace, Destroy it. But lucky for you, I’ve been killing too many people lately. It’s gotten a little dull.”
“Yes, yes, Young Master is wise and generous,” Qian Renci nodded and smiled repeatedly.
“I’m only staying for a few days. You all behave and don’t get in my way,” Xu Zimo warned before turning to leave.
…
Watching Xu Zimo’s retreating figure, the man who had earlier slapped the table grumbled, “Senior Brother, why are you afraid of him? Even if he destroyed the Death God Palace, we’re not that easy to mess with either.”
“What do you know?” Qian Renci said coldly. “Do you know what else he’s done?”
“What?”
“A few days ago, Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground, a lineage with two Grand Emperors in the Holyflower Region, was wiped out. By him.”
Qian Renci’s tone was ice cold.
“If you want to mess with him, how many lives do you think you have to lose?”
“Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground… wiped out?” the man’s face turned pale in disbelief.
“Keep a lower profile,” Qian Renci said blandly.
“You don’t even realize the world outside has already changed. You’re just a local tyrant in this little corner of Dark Corner Capital. If you ever cross someone you shouldn’t, you won’t even know how you died.”
“Yes, Senior Brother. I understand,” the man nodded quickly.
…
Back at the Mo Imperial Clan’s tea house, Xu Zimo learned it would take seven days to set up the teleportation array.
So, he decided to rest there for a few days.
At this point, he had already reached the peak of the Imperial Meridian Realm, and was approaching the Empyrean Meridian Realm.
Opening the seventh meridian gate was just around the corner.
Once he could form a complete God Soul, he would effectively step into the Empyrean Meridian Realm.
But before that, Xu Zimo had to consider the Twin Life Forbidden Art he had obtained at the Desolate Tavern from the old man of the Dark Primordial Race.
That technique allowed his God Soul to fuse with a Battle Physique.
When choosing a battle body, it wasn’t about the highest rank, but the one most suited to you.
Xu Zimo had his eyes set on the Ninth Battle Physique: the Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Physique.
Nine represented the extreme. "Revolution" stood for the full cycle of the heavens.
A full heavenly cycle is 81 (9 × 9), symbolizing perfection, excluding the one that vanishes.
The Nine-Revolutions God-Tower Body was both offensive and defensive, arguably the best physique for the God Soul.
But this battle body was hidden in the Buddha Burial Temple, and retrieving it wouldn’t be easy.
Xu Zimo could try to take it by force.
But the Heaven’s Will had not yet manifested, and the great war was still some time away.
He couldn’t afford to make himself the public enemy just yet.
There were times to be domineering, and times to be discreet. Xu Zimo knew when to hold back.
…
Night fell.
The sky was pitch-black, like it had been swallowed by a monstrous beast. Not a single star could be seen.
Xu Zimo did not stay at the Mo Imperial Clan’s tea house. Instead, he found a random inn in Dark Corner Capital.
The room was silent.
Suddenly, Bang!
The door burst open, and a figure darted inside.
Even in the dark, Xu Zimo could clearly see the intruder.
It was a young girl, dressed in rags.
Her face and body were covered in dirt, but her big, clear black eyes sparkled with an innocent light.
“Who are you?” Xu Zimo asked, curious.
“Young Master, please save me.”
Her voice was like a songbird, gentle and pleasant.
“You know me?” Xu Zimo asked, puzzled.
“I was there the day you destroyed the Death God Palace. I saw you,” the girl knelt and replied. “You’re the only one in Dark Corner Capital who can help me.”
“Do I look like some saintly do-gooder?” Xu Zimo chuckled.
“I know you have the power,” she pleaded.
“Shouldn’t there be compensation for saving someone?” Xu Zimo asked, smiling.
“I’m willing to be your servant. Anything.”
“Not interested,” Xu Zimo interrupted bluntly, waving her off.
The girl froze.
She stood silently in the room, shrouded in darkness, her head bowed, lost in thought.
