Chapter 97 - Escaping
Chapter 97: Chapter 97 - Escaping
There was only one thing left to do: leave the Vampire Kingdom they were currently in. However, the other problem was that reinforcements were on their way, and the moment they stepped outside, they would be spotted almost instantly.
They weren’t the most discreet of the bunch.
The kingdom was also on high alert. It would be almost impossible to leave without fighting against at least one person.
"With the help of your new evolution, can you charm other vampires?" Alexia asked with a slight frown, already knowing the answer to that question. She was aware that all Vampire Kings and Queens could do so; it was one of their special powers.
Lucius nodded.
"How strong are you feeling right now?" Alexia asked, a slight frown still on her face. "Can you handle a few vampires on your own?"
Lucius only smirked, eager to try out this new strength of his. He knew that he was on a completely different level compared to before. His strength was now out of this world, and there was little that could ever stop him—especially when he glanced toward Alexia and opened her status to take a peek at most of her stats.
[Alexia]
[Title: Vampire Progenitor]
[Strength: 561]
[Agility: 512]
[Charm: 981]
[Stamina: 671]
[Skills: Too many to count]
With only a glance at her stats, Lucius knew that Alexia was completely overpowered. That’s why he compared her stats to his, which had now tripled; she wasn’t even close to him anymore. They weren’t on the same playing field. Lucius had evolved while Alexia had stayed the same.
"I can handle a few of them for sure," Lucius muttered under his breath as he cracked his knuckles.
As for Luna, they didn’t ask much of her, even if her strength was decent. She wasn’t super powerful, but as the director of this academy, she had shown many that she deserved such a position.
"Let’s go. It’s time to escape this place."
Just roaming inside the Academy was a task to be reckoned with, as there were dozens of guards scattered around the school. Luckily, they were walking with Luna, whom everyone trusted, not even glancing at who was behind her since no one believed she would be in on it. After all, Luna had always served the community to the best of her abilities. No one believed she was capable of breaking the law.
She was simply perfect.
Within a few minutes, they had managed to slip past the security of the academy without any problems. However, that’s when trouble really began, as guards were truly everywhere, and on top of that, no one was allowed outside. So, the moment they stepped out of the building, they would be spotted.
"Are you sure we should leave by the main entrance?" Lucius asked, a slight frown on his face as he looked to his right, where a decently sized window was placed. It would be the perfect choice to escape. "Why don’t we go through there?"
Alexia and Luna sharply turned their heads and smirked, pleased with Lucius’s proposal, immediately heading toward the window and discreetly opening it before looking out.
They would be stepping outside into a random alley, devoid of guards, which would give them a few minutes to escape in good conditions.
Within seconds, they all jumped out of the window, making barely any noise. However, due to a water flask right under the window, they had no choice but to make a little noise.
But for now, it seemed like no one had heard them.
Lucius pointed toward one of the buildings before them, indicating for them to climb it, as the streets would be the most dangerous spot.
To leave the city without getting spotted even once, the easiest way would be by jumping from roof to roof. There were no vampires at this height; they were all roaming the streets trying to catch the criminals.
There was only one problem when it came to climbing this building.
It was pouring outside. The rain was relentless, plummeting heavily and thickly, adding weight to their clothes with each passing moment.
Nevertheless, they persevered as they climbed to the top of the building. Luckily, it was one of the highest in the entire kingdom, which made things much easier from there.

While that happened, thousands of kilometers away, a man was sitting on his throne with a frown on his face, angry.
He had been waiting for a call that never came. He had been waiting for his fiancée to call him, but it seemed she was playing hard to get.
"Should I visit her?" he muttered under his breath. "Something was definitely strange about that store and that man. All the employees looked strangely interested in him for some reason when he’s not interesting at all. I’m obviously much better than him at everything."
He clicked his tongue. "Fuck... I’m missing her. Should I go back?"
However, he shook his head. He knew he couldn’t; otherwise, he would have no choice but to face her wrath once again.
But then, as he rambled to himself, knocks on the door could be distinctly heard, and he quickly allowed the person in, who was completely out of breath.
"What is it?"
"S-Sir... we have received a report of a vampire walking inside the kingdom with a human. The vampire referred to him as food when she entered. Would you like to act upon it?"
Dracula rubbed his chin. "Was this recent?"
It had been many years since he had banned all humans from entering this world. He had erased all entry points into this world because he knew just how reckless vampires could get, and he didn’t want too many vampires inside, as it would become oversaturated since vampires never died.
"Yes, it was a few hours ago. We have already sent reinforcements, but we have received new details that may interest you."
"What are they? I’m busy. I don’t have time for this..."
The vampire bowed, not daring to look into the king’s eyes. He raised his hand and handed him a small piece of paper, which had a picture of three distinct individuals. Two of whom Dracula recognized very well.
"That son of a bitch is here, and who is that next to her?!" he almost shouted, sending shivers down the spines of everyone present in the room. "Is that Alexia? What the fuck is she doing there? Did she leave her exile? Doesn’t she know that I’m the only one who can control her as long as I have the artifact? What is she trying to do?!"
Dracula couldn’t help but spout a stream of insults for the fun of it. He absolutely hated every single moment of this.
What truly angered him was the man in that picture!
"Why is he in this world?! He’s supposed to be taking care of that store of his!"
The vampire who had brought the news could feel the anger radiating throughout the room as the ground began to shake when Dracula stood up from his throne with a clear frown on his face.
"Where are they now? We need to deal with them as fast as possible."
The reason Dracula looked so pumped was that if he dealt with Lucius, he would finally be able to take Lilith back from him. It was a win-win situation for him. He only needed to kill a useless human, and since Lilith would never learn who killed him, it was the perfect opportunity.
"They escaped the Kingdom of Truvor a few minutes ago, and we have lost all traces of them. However, they seemed to have headed toward the Night Forest. That’s where we last saw them."
Dracula laughed as he took a seat on his throne. "The Night Forest?"
He laughed even louder than before, unable to believe his ears. "If they have truly entered that place, then there is no chance for them to come out. It’s only a matter of time before they die trying to escape."
"Keep men at all exits of the forest. Tell them to report urgently if they see anyone coming out."
Dracula was confident that they would not be able to escape, but he also knew that with Alexia with them, anything was possible. Her strength was not something anyone could underestimate.
With a smirk on his face, he began rubbing his chin as he imagined how he would announce Lucius’s death to Lilith.
"This is going to be absolutely perfect..."
***
On the outskirts of the Night Forest, Lucius could be found with both Luna and Alexia as they were all extremely nervous hearing all kinds of sounds that they had never heard before in their lives.
"Are you sure that this place is safe?" Lucius asked with a slight frown.
Alexia gulped. "I think so..."
But then within seconds of entering, they heard an empty stomach growl loudly right behind them.
"W-Was that you, Lucius?"
"No, I thought it was..." Lucius murmured as he turned around and saw two giant pointy teeth dangerously getting closer to them. "Run!"
