Chapter 96: Chapter 96 - Vampire King

"How long has he been out for?" Luna muttered as she bit her fingernails.

"Around two hours."

"I-Is this normal?" she asked, nervous as she watched the unconscious body of Lucius, who was sleeping on the desk in silence, without a heartbeat. "H-He’s not even breathing anymore. Are you sure that we didn’t kill him by accident?"

Alexia just shook her head at the stupidity; she couldn’t even begin to explain just how foolish Luna was. She had literally no experience when it came to turning people into vampires, and here she was talking.

"I told you five minutes ago, and I’ll tell you again. Yes. This is normal. He should wake up soon. Maybe the transformation is taking longer because he’s becoming a very powerful vampire. I don’t know, it’s the first time I’ve dealt with this blood type."

Luna gulped as she was once again reminded of who she was talking to. The vampire before her was no random vampire. She was the first vampire to have ever lived. Even now, as she sat by the edge of the desk, she could feel the overwhelming strength coming from her.

But then, just as Luna was about to say something else, Lucius, who had been unconscious for more than two hours after closing his eyes and having his heartbeat stop, opened his eyes at once as his back straightened instantly.

He took a big gulp of air as his back straightened, almost shocking in the process.

"H-He’s awake! You’re not dead!" Luna said as she jumped into the arms of Lucius with a big smile on her face. "I thought you had died!"

Lucius just frowned as he heard this, confused as to why she would think that he was dead. After all, he was feeling pretty damn good right now.

He moved his muscles around, hearing a few cracks. But he also felt that they were much stronger than before. It was most likely a side effect of becoming a Vampire King, and he could only say that it felt really good.

Lucius smiled as those two passives were explained before his eyes. There was no doubt that they would be pretty useful.

But before he could even try to use one of them, he felt two sharp teeth biting into his neck, sucking some of his blood. There was a tinge of pleasure, but it wasn’t as pronounced as before, which was another side effect of becoming a Vampire King.

Alexia wiped the blood from her mouth with her hand. "Sorry, I just wanted to verify that it still tasted the same."

"So?"

She smiled. "It does!"

She sounded so happy that she would be able to have more of that delicious and addictive blood. Luna also seemed to share the same opinion as she was grinning right beside them.

But then, just as they were about to talk about leaving this

place, three knocks resounded against the door.

-Knock!

-Knock!

-Knock!

’What’s happening?’ Lucius thought in the back of his mind with a slight frown. ’Who is knocking here at this time?’

"Luna, it’s me, Kale. There are two individuals who wish to talk with you," a voice from the other side of the door resounded.

Luna’s eyes widened, unsure of what was happening. She quickly indicated to Alexia and Lucius to hide behind her desk, and just as they hid, she opened the door where a vampire wearing office clothes was standing behind two vampires, which Lucius and Alexia recognized very well.

They were the guards from when they had first entered the city. There were two of them.

"Sorry to disturb you, we are here to inform you of an illegal that might be running around the city. Her name is Lolita, and she’s walking around with a human that she considers food. Have you seen them or heard of it?"

For a short moment, her eyes widened as she realized that it was Lucius and Alexia hiding behind the desk. However, she quickly regained her composure and shook her head.

"No, I’m sorry. I haven’t heard or seen them."

"Ah... alright. Well, make sure to pay attention. Give us a word if you see or hear of anything," one of the guards said as he was about to turn around.

-Cling!

But then, just as they were about to leave, a pencil that was on the desk slid off from the desk, falling onto the ground and making both guards turn around sharply.

"What was that?"

Luna turned around as she walked toward the pencil, holding it up in the air.

"Sorry, it fell on the ground. I’ll make sure to give you a call if I figure out anything."

With a glance to her right, Luna could see both Alexia and Lucius sitting next to one another under the desk. If the guards even decided to look inside her office, things might have gotten extremely weird to get out of.

There was also something that Alexia hadn’t told Lucius about. But after using her charming skill on her vampire, they would develop a resistance against it, and they were more likely to resist it. So even now, if they found her, the chances of Alexia being able to charm them to tell them off would be quite low.

"Mhm... alright."

"Oh, before you leave, can I ask a question?"

"Sure, what is it?" the two of them asked with a slight frown.

"Well, I was wondering how close you were to catching some of the criminals. I don’t want the students to panic because of it."

"Please keep it secret for the time being, and fret not. Backup from the Royal Family will be arriving swiftly in our Kingdom. They should arrive in a few hours at most. Whoever those criminals are, it won’t be long before we catch them."

Luna gulped subtly as she nodded. "Perfect then, thank you for your hard work."

The two of them nodded and finally went on their way as Lucius and Alexia realized that they were in much bigger trouble than they originally thought. The only positive was that they didn’t know Alexia’s real name. They thought she was called Lolita, which would not alert Dracula or anyone who knew Alexia, which was a great start.

The door finally closed as the two of them sprang from under the desk with a sigh of relief.

"Oof. That was definitely close. Good job, Luna."

In those moments, Lucius was happy with the decision he had made. Having Luna as an ally had just bought them a lot of time since the guards would not look into the academy for the time being.

"We need to leave," Alexia immediately declared. "Thank you, Luna. But we can’t stay here any longer; if they find us, we’re done for."

Luna’s eyes widened at the quick decision, as she knew what leaving meant. It meant that she would never be able to get a taste of Lucius’s blood ever again. It was a tough decision, but it was one that she needed to make right now, and as she gritted her teeth, she made her choice.

"C-Can I come with you two?" she muttered with a blush on her face as she noticed that Alexia was already sighing at the request.

Before Alexia could even respond, Lucius smiled and nodded. "Sure, why not? The more, the better, right?"

Lucius honestly thought that she deserved it for what she had just done. She had just saved their asses. Otherwise, Dracula could have prepared for their arrival.

"Anyway, now that you’ve become a Vampire King, have you become stronger than before?" Alexia asked with a frown, as she could not feel much of a difference, but then the system emitted a response.

[By becoming the Vampire King, all of your stats have tripled.]

Lucius’s smile widened as a result. This was better than he could have ever imagined. Now that his stats had tripled, he doubted that anyone could ever deal with him. Alexia was definitely weaker than him now. There was no doubt about it.

"Yeah... it’s alright. I think my strength tripled."

Both Luna’s and Alexia’s eyes widened at the response, as this was much better than the two of them could have ever expected.

Lucius was now on a completely different level from the two of them. Alexia even believed that Dracula would not be a match now that Lucius had become a Vampire King.

It was only a matter of time before Lucius took over this entire world and became a king.
