Chapter 65: Chapter 65 - Alicia Is Missing

The next day came, and Lucius had gone back to his store, leaving Emy in the hotel room they had booked later that night. He came out of the hotel and immediately had cameras flashing in his direction and microphones thrust at him as questions flew out at him.

"Did you sleep with the star Lady Gaga?"

"There are tons of videos circulating of you with Lady Gaga. Anything to say?"

"Word is, you had sex at a karaoke spot. Is that true?"

Lucius frowned as he continued to walk forward without answering any questions. However, he couldn’t help but wonder how those people knew about all of it.

They hadn’t been discreet about it, but they seemed to know everything that had gone down yesterday, which was definitely strange since Lucius had made it clear that no one would be taking pictures of them.

He must have let one of them slip by... and then those interviewers probably asked questions to those working at the karaoke, and they made the connections from there. That must be what happened, without a doubt...

Lucius wasn’t too sure what to think of this. Whether it was a good thing or a bad thing, however, one thing was certain: it was not as bad as the bounty circulating on his back.

A bounty of which Lucius had no idea of its existence.

Still, Lucius had a little smirk at the corner of his face as he entered a random cab, leaving everyone behind without answers to their questions.

The reason he smiled was simple. He could only imagine the look on Axel’s face as news that he had slept with his daughter spread worldwide, and there was nothing he could do about it. After all, a story like this was bound to make the headlines, which gave Lucius an idea.

Before closing the door to his cab, he poked his head out and made one comment about this whole situation.

"I just want to say that I had one of the best nights of my life. Thank you."

This message wasn’t for the cameras or Emy. It was directly aimed at Axel Smith.

"Aren’t you worried about what the Smith family might say about this relationship?" one of the reporters asked.

"No, I think I’m on pretty good terms with the family."

He lied through his teeth as most of the reporters were honestly shocked out of their minds. They had never expected something like this to come out of his mouth. After all, the Smith family was one of the richest and most powerful families in the entire world.

"How long have you known the Smith family? Has it been a long time since you’ve been in a relationship with their daughter?"

"No comment."

Lucius closed the door and told the cab driver where to go.

It was time to see what had happened to his store overnight. As far as he could tell from the system, everything was fine about it, minus some damages. But it was nothing that couldn’t be fixed for the time being.

On the way there, there was one thing that Lucius still hadn’t checked out because of how exhausted he had been from yesterday, and it was the quest’s rewards.

He had completed the quest perfectly, which meant that he was bound to receive a reward.

Lucius frowned slightly as this was the first time that something like that happened. He clicked the link, and a message appeared before him.

Lucius couldn’t help but widen his eyes at the price asked to upgrade the security of his store. After all, there wasn’t even a description that told him what kind of security measures would be implemented.

And looking at his balance... he wasn’t too sure if he would be able to buy such a thing soon.

He was very far from having enough money, and sure, the sales were slowly going up, but it was nowhere close enough.

Lucius knew that he had spent a lot of time away from the store, and he thought that it was about time that he focused a little more on the store again. After all, he hadn’t had a lot of new customers in the past days.

Who knows, he might have passed some very high-ranked customers like Aphrodite and Lilith. Those were customers that he could not let go since they were very powerful and had a lot of money. It was very important to form a deep and strong relationship with them.

Lucius arrived at his store and pushed the door open, realizing that there was a little more damage than he had expected.

Lucius practically wanted to curse the system because of how expensive that was. However, he kept his mouth shut for the time being as he accepted the price. The store then began to fix itself right before his very eyes.

It was very early in the morning, and it seemed that everyone was sleeping.

Lucius went upstairs and reached his room, where he could see Lilith and Aphrodite sleeping inside his bed, peacefully. However, Lucius immediately noticed that someone was missing from his bed. Someone who would never leave the store on her own.

Alicia was missing from the store.

Lucius roamed the store a little before waking the two of them up, but there was no one as far as he could tell, which meant that something else had happened.

Lucius woke up the two women sleeping with a deep frown on his face.

"Where’s Alicia? Where did she go?"

Aphrodite could already see the anger in Lucius’s gaze, and she hadn’t even told him what had happened.
