I Own the Multiverse's General Store! -
Chapter 56 - The Start of the Date
Chapter 56: Chapter 56 - The Start of the Date
Lucius was sitting at one end of a table that offered a beautiful view of the city. He could see all of it, even the suburbs where his store was located.
His date had not yet arrived, but he had come a little early.
He knew that Axel wouldn’t have lied; his daughter was definitely coming here.
Lucius expected some kind of plan, as the call he had received was simply too sudden for there to be nothing happening.
There was no way that Axel would give up his daughter so easily without putting up a fight. There was definitely something going on with this dinner. Maybe he was preparing something, but whatever it was, Lucius was ready to receive it.
Lucius had already gained the strength of an Elven Princess and two Goddesses. Some humans would never be able to hurt him, no matter what.
As his mind kept theorizing about what Axel could possibly have planned, the sound of the elevator echoed in the restaurant. Lucius immediately turned toward it to check if it was Axel’s daughter, and everything seemed to point in that direction.
A young woman wearing a nice blue dress and carrying an expensive bag was walking out of the elevator. She looked as if she belonged to high society.
The aura surrounding her was very different from the others sitting in the restaurant. She was much more elegant, and her beauty was also on a different level.
She didn’t have a large chest; however, Lucius could see that she was fit. She was definitely taking care of herself and eating the right things.
As she spoke with the waitress, she was guided toward their table, where Lucius immediately stood up with a grin on his face.
She approached, and he slightly bowed as he took her hand elegantly and kissed it.
"It’s nice to finally meet you; I’m Lucius."
Lucius pulled out her chair and let her sit, immediately noticing a slight blush on her face. However, it was very discreet.
She seemed almost shocked by how polite Lucius was. It was the first time someone had welcomed her like this, and she had to admit that he scored some points there.
"You’re so polite! It’s nice to meet you too; I’m Emy Smith. But you probably already know that, haha!"
She started laughing on her own.
"Actually, I didn’t. I decided to keep you as a surprise. I didn’t look up anything about you."
Emy frowned, not expecting such an answer.
She had often gone on dates with businessmen close to her father. However, all of them were very cold and boring, acting like they knew everything about her before they had even talked. So, this right here also scored points. It was definitely a breath of fresh air for Emy.
"Really?"
"I swear, it really is."
Emy found herself smiling at those words as she looked Lucius up and down.
"Do you always dress this nicely?"
She immediately noticed just how expensive the clothes he was wearing were. It was definitely an attempt to impress her. However, it pitifully failed. After all, she had spent her life seeing rich men all around her.
Lucius decided to tell the truth about it since he could see that Emy would see through his lies.
"Actually, I just bought these clothes today. I knew you were used to those kinds of things, so I went all out for you."
Emy smiled as she liked how easygoing Lucius was. It was rare for the men she met to be like this. They always thought they were better than the rest. However, that didn’t seem to be the case with Lucius. He seemed quite calm and almost humble. It was something Emy had not experienced in a while.
’Well, this should be easier than I thought...’ Emy thought, as the only thing her father had asked her to do was keep Lucius at the restaurant for as long as possible, and since he was actually quite nice, it wouldn’t be a bother. ’He’s actually nice, and he’s good-looking too. I can see why Father said not to get seduced...’
While her father had warned her, Emy hadn’t really cared about his warnings. After all, this was her life; as long as she respected his plan, she could do whatever she wanted, even if her father wouldn’t like it.
"Mhm, you didn’t have to. I wouldn’t have cared if you showed up in more casual clothes," she said with a smile. "Still, it’s nice to see that you put so much effort into this."
Lucius was happy to see that the date was going well.
There was no doubt in his mind that he would be able to have his fun with her tonight. He couldn’t wait to see Axel’s face when he realized that his daughter had also fallen for him.
While the date was going extremely well, the same could be said for the Multiverse General Store.
A few customers had entered since Lucius had left, but all of them were quite normal as they bought an item and quickly left.
There was no drama.
Nothing at all.
That is until the bell of the store rang once more, and a man wearing a strange elven tunic entered with a frown on his face as he looked around the store.
’Why is it so advanced already? Hasn’t it been two weeks since the last owner was chosen?’ the elf thought with a slight frown, as the progression was usually much slower for the general store.
"Hello there! How can we help you?" A woman dressed as a maid immediately approached the elf with a beautiful smile.
The elf found that strange, but he realized that everyone was wearing a maid outfit.
"Ugh... I’m looking for someone. Her name is Alicia Amastacia. Have you seen her around here?"
The employee frowned slightly as she looked behind toward the counter where Aphrodite was standing.
Alicia and Lilith were currently resting inside their rooms, with only Aphrodite taking care of the store at the moment.
"Why are you asking?" Aphrodite inquired, her eyes squinting.
