Chapter 82: You Can’t Replace Me With A New Husband
Meanwhile at the hospital. Lyse waited with bated breath for the person with the flowers to show their face, she wondered what they were hiding. Then, when they lowered the bouquet and she was finally able to see him properly, he shut the door and took several steps forward.
Lyse eyed him warily. He was tall and young, with piercing blue eyes and Sandy brown hair which was tousled stylishly. His clean shaven face did not spark up any memories in her and she was certain that this stranger was in the wrong room. Then his next words surprised her.
"Hello Lyse," the man said, his voice soft yet commanding. "It is good to see you."
Lyse stared at him, her confusion growing. She did not recognize him at all. "Who are you?" she frowned, her voice barely a whisper.
The man smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes. "Don’t you remember, Lyse? My feelings are hurt that you have forgotten me already." He said. "I am your husband."
The unease in Lyse’s heart rose and threatened to choke her, she wanted this man to be gone from her room immediately. She wondered where Levi had gone.
"You are mistaken, I have never met you!" She insisted firmly.
"Tsk tsk" he clucked then looked down at her fingers which were gripping the covers and pulling them close to her chin as if they could offer protection from the intruder.
"I imagine it would be easy for you to pretend, but my darling. I am not as easily disposed of as my ring."
Lyse’s eyes widened as stared at him in horror, as understanding began to dawn on her but she shook her head in refusal.
"Yes." He said in amusement. "You might be able to replace my ring with a newer more expensive one but you can’t replace me with a new husband. You are my wife."
"That is not true." Lyse choked.
The man chuckled, a dark humor in his tone. "Of course you want to believe that. But baby, that drunken night, that mistake you made. The mistake that legally binds us is very real and true."
"You." Lyse pointed at him. "You have been harassing me, calling me."
Lyse was speechless. She could not believe what she was hearing. How had he gotten her number? And how did he know that she was here, in this room.
"Guiltly as charged." He said with a charming smile.
"How do I know that you are not lying? I will not allow you to ruin my life," she said, her voice rising. "I am married to Levi. He is my husband."
The man’s smile turned into a menacing grin as he came closer to her and dropped the flowers on the bed. "Oh, I know. But that does not change the fact that you are still my wife. And I will certainly not let you forget it."
He straightened up and smiled cunningly. "I can imagine the headlines, "Billionaire’s wife married previously in drunken ceremony and can’t even remember her husband" how does that sound?"
Lyse’s face went as white as the sheet she was desperately clutching as she imagined the scenario he had just described. Her stomach flipped at what Levi would do if he thought that she had played him for a fool, he would be very angry and humiliated.
He paused, his gaze intense as he watched her reaction. "I am going to leave for now, but I will be watching you. And I expect you to do as I say. Divorce Levi. Or else."
With that, he leaned forward and placed a kiss on her head abruptly then he turned and left, leaving Lyse alone with her thoughts.
She felt a cold dread creeping into her heart. Who was this man, and what did he want from her? She aggressively wiped at her forehead, as if she could clean off the disgustingness of his touch.
Then the door opened and Levi came in. Seeing that she was awake, he rushed to his side.
"Are you okay?" He asked, concern in his voice.
He looked her over, noticing how pale she looked then he noticed the flowers laying on the bed. He picked them up saying. "These should be in water."
"No!" Lyse yelled sharply, startling Levi who turned to look at her in shock.

Sutton was seated, lost in thought, when the door to her private dining room swung open. She looked up, her expression turning from thoughtful and worried to irritated as she saw Brett sauntering in, completely uninvited.
"Brett," she said, her voice laced with annoyance, "what on earth are you doing here?"
Brett grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "I thought I’d join you, darling. Imagine my surprise, finding out that you were dining here alone. Or do you have company?" He asked, his gaze pointedly on the other glass of half finished wine on the table.
He had been entering the restaurant when he had seen Jeff Chadwick’s wife come in. He had been curious about who she was seeing, so he made Damien ask around and he had discovered that she was dining with Sutton in one of the private rooms, he wanted to know why.
Sutton rolled her eyes. "You are not funny, Brett. What do you want? Why even are you in this city?"
Brett leaned forward, his voice low. "I decided that a change of scenery might be good for my health, maybe I could even do business here."
Sutton’s eyebrows raised. "Business? Here, in this City? You must be delusional, Levi would never allow it."
"Nobody allows me!" Brett growled lowly, his tone threatening. "You know that i am better than Levi, i don’t know why you are still hung up on him when he has rejected you over and over."
Sutton took a deep breath before squaring her shoulders, then she stared at Brett, her stare intense. "I am not hung up on Levi and he has not rejected me, I chose to marry a respected man."
