Chapter 36: That Bitch Is Going To Regret
Chapter 36: That Bitch Is Going To Regret
Brooke almost crashed her car into the fountain then she jumped out of the car and angrily stormed into the house, her face flushed with anger. She slammed the door shut, the sound echoing through the entire place.
Lottie, who had been sitting in front of the television and was startled by Brooke’s erratic driving looked at the door in concern.
"Hey Brooke, are you okay honey? is something wrong?"
Without giving Lottie an answer, Brooke ran up the stairs to her room and slammed that door shut also. Lottie jumped off the chair in alarm and quickly went up the stairs to Brooke’s room.
She slowly opened the door and found Brooke sobbing into her pillow and she felt rage swell in her chest at whatever might have gotten Brooke upset.
"What happened?" Lottie asked, her voice soft and when Brooke did not answer she came and sat on the bed beside her and patted her back sympathetically.
Eventually Brooke sat up, her shoulders slumped. "It was a disaster," she muttered. "An absolute disaster."
"What happened?" Lottie pressed, her curiosity piqued as she gently wiped the tears off Brooke’s face.
Brooke took a deep breath, her voice trembling. "I told Brandon that Lyse was in the hospital and that she was married so he went to confront her after lying that he was going to work."
Lottie’s eyes widened in surprise. "Lyse is married? How? When did that happen?"
Brooke nodded, "Who knows when it happened, I only just met her husband in the hospital."
Lottie fumed at the realization that Lyse was doing things behind her back, ’who allowed that stupid bitch to get married without informing me first?’
She wondered who this husband was and where Lyse had managed to get a husband then she consoled herself with the fact that it was probably some no good nobody just like her.
Brooke continued, her anger resurfacing. "But that is not the worst part, Brandon... he still loves her. He says he isn’t but he is obsessed with her. She humiliated him and he still found a way to put the blame on me."
Lottie’s sympathy turned to anger. "How dare he? Has he forgotten that he is your fiancé?" Then her voice turned softer. "Why did you tell Brandon where to see her? Have you forgotten how manipulative and sly that girl is? You should have told me instead so that I could go and deal with her myself."
Brooke’s face flushed with embarrassment. "I know, I know. It was stupid, I should have told you first. But I just wanted Brandon to see her for who she truly is but I ended up insulted."
She burst out into more tears and Lottie hugged her and patted her sympathetically.
Brooke shook her head. "I can’t let it go, I won’t let her win. Brandon is mine!"
"There is no doubt about it, you deserve to be with the better man. We just have to find a way to stop Lyse." Lottie said as she thought of what they could do.
A mischievous glint suddenly appeared in Brooke eyes as an idea popped up in her head. "I do believe I know what I have to do." she said, a sinister smile spreading across her face.
Lottie’s eyebrows raised. "What is this plan of yours?" she asked, her voice filled with excitement. Nothing would give her more pleasure than to put Lyse in her place.
Despite everything she had done to ensure that Lyse remained in the background she still managed to be a thorn in her side.
Brooke pulled out her phone from her purse and after going through she showed Lottie. It was a picture of Lyse, the one that was taken when she was leaving the hotel in men’s clothes.
"This could ruin her," Brooke said, her voice dripping with malice. "I’ will send it to the paparazzi, they will have a field day. I can even imagine what the headlines will say. Illegitimate child having an affair of the day that was supposed to be her wedding night." She continued gleefully.
Lottie’s eyes widened and she stared at the photo with relish. It was Lyse alright, from the hairdo and smudged makeup, Lottie could tell the picture was taken after that disaster of a wedding that did not take place.
"Where did you get this?" Lottie asked.
"A friend saw Lyse the morning after the wedding and she took the picture as she left the hotel room, she must have been with a man and it was not Brandon because I was with him that night." Brooke said then got off the bed and pulled her laptop out and powered it on. "That bitch is going to regret ever crossing me."
As Brooke sat down at her computer, she could not help but feel a sense of satisfaction. After she had sent the picture to the paparazzi she would make a collage of pictures, probably pin Lyse’s face on some nude bodies and post them on a burner account. She wondered why that had not been the first thing she had done
No matter, she was now about to unleash a storm of scandal and humiliation upon Lyse. She would make her pay for her happiness, for her audacity. By the time she was done with her nobody would want her, even that so called husband would dump her quickly.
"Now what paparazzi website is going to pay me the most money for this information?" Brooke said to herself then she snapped her fingers.
She turned around and saw that Lottie was still holding the phone. "Can I have my phone back?" She asked as she held her hand out for the phone.
"I don’t think that you should send this picture." Lottie said as she looked up into Brooke’s eyes.
Brooke was shocked at the sudden about turn that Lottie was taking. It had never happened before that she would protect Lyse so why was she doing that all of a sudden?
