Chapter 100: Rising Star Of The Fashion Industry
Brooke flipped through the glossy pages of the fashion magazine, her eyes fixated on the cover. Lyse’s radiant face, adorned with a confident smile, stared back at her. The bold headline over her face proclaimed, "Could This Be The Rising Star of the Fashion Industry?"
A wave of bitter envy washed over Brooke. She had always prided herself on her beauty, her intelligence, and her talent. But now, it seemed as if Lyse had everything that she had ever wanted. Fame, fortune, and the love of a powerful man who was willing to do anything for her.
It infuriated her to see that there was not even a single whiff of Lyse’s indiscretion, it seemed that Levi had effectively shut down any hints of such a story. Fortunately, Jean Pierre had mysteriously died. She knew that it was the work of that man.
She had not gone near the restaurant to search for the waiter but she had a suspicion that he had also received the same fate that Jean Pierre had faced. She feared the moment that she would have to dance to the man’s tune, but she pushed it to the back of her mind.
She flipped through the glossy pages of the fashion magazine, her eyes fixated on the cover. There, in all her radiant glory, was Lyse, her image larger than life. She was the talk of the town, the rising star of the fashion industry. Brooke’s envy burned bright, a toxic flame consuming her.
She had always considered herself superior to Lyse, a belief rooted in a sense of entitlement. But now, Lyse was soaring to heights she could only dream of. It was infuriating. She had planned to be the one basking in the limelight, not Lyse.
She angrily threw the magazine against the wall, then she glanced at the photos that Kim had sent her, images of what Lyse was currently working on and even her submission for the competition. The clothes were stunning, innovative, and undeniably beautiful.
Another pang of jealousy shot through her. She had always prided herself on her fashion sense, but she had to admit that Lyse’s designs were on another level. She wished that there was a way that she could take away her talent.
She could not allow this to continue for too long. Lyse had to be stopped very soon. But how would she do that? Brooke pondered, her mind racing. She needed a plan, a strategy that would bring Lyse down without implicating her.
If there was anything that the drugging incident had taught her, it was that she had to be very careful and ensure that anything she did could not be traced back to her.
A sinister smile crept across her face. She had an idea that would no doubt bring about Lyse’s downfall.

Brett was furious. He had just gotten some news from Damien. The informant in Levi’s house had reported that Lyse had been spending nights in Levi’s room, sharing his bed.
This news infuriated Brett because he had been made aware that they slept in separate rooms, which was a positive for him because at the right time he could use that little bit of information to show how fraudulent Levi really was. It seemed that the incident with Jean-Pierre, instead of driving a wedge between them, had had the opposite effect instead.
He had also learned about Lyse’s recent public appearance with Levi at a romantic dinner, there had been no pictures of them in the restaurant but apparently, Levi had bought out all the reservations for that day. The paparazzi shots of them leaving however, were evidence of the couple looking happy and in love.
If Levi’s plan had been to portray the appearance of a loving couple whose bond was stronger than ever despite all of the scandals, then he had accomplished what he set out for. Brett could not bear the thought of Lyse and Levi convincing people that their love was real. He could not allow Levi win again.
"She has been spending the nights at his place?" Brett growled, his voice filled with frustration. He was so angry that he could wring Brooke’s neck.
Even though she had had a genius idea, she had not expected it properly. That had caused it to almost blow up in her face, and now Levi was a hero in Lyse’s eyes, there was no way she would not fall at his feet now.
Damien, shrugged. "Maybe it is all just an act, i don’t think that Levi will fall in love in such a short time."
Brett scoffed. "An act? That is a joke. You did not see my little brother here when he came to confront me about Lyse’s drugging. He was like a rabid dog."
He was convinced more than ever that Levi loved Lyse. He had acted irrationally, quite unlike his calm and calculating self. The fact that Levi had acted without first thinking, pointed out how irrational he was about Lyse. That was a man in love.
Damien hesitated. "Are you sure about that Boss? He could just be acting so that he can convince you and play a fast one.
Brett’s eyes narrowed. "Don’t be fooled, Damien. Levi is a skilled manipulator but the anger and desperation in his eyes when he confronted me were not fake. He loves that girl."
Damien nodded, understanding the danger of underestimating Levi’s feeling. "So, what do we do next?" he asked.
Brett pondered for a moment. "We are going to need to find a way to disrupt their relationship. We need to create chaos, to sow discord. We need to make them doubt each other. And I believe I know the perfect way to get that done."
He had not come this far simply to let his younger brother waltz away with everything which was rightfully his.
Levi was going to learn that he was dealing with a formidable foe. And when he was laying crumpled in the dust, only then would Brett feel a sense of accomplishment.
