I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 73: Fierce and Foolish
Chapter 73: Fierce and Foolish
As the last of the insectoids fell to Tuss’s blade, the students not far away couldn’t help but shudder. They abruptly sprang up from the ground, their bodies tense, ready to make a swift escape if needed.
"Is he still sane?"
"Who knows? Why isn’t he moving?"
"Looks like he’s staring at something?"
"Probably disgusted by how dirty he is." Ender, who had grown up with Tuss and knew him very much, chimed in.
"Ah, the higher the level, the sharper the sense of smell, got it, got it."
Tuss indeed wore a look of distaste. He discarded his jacket and suddenly dashed off towards the hills.
The others exchanged glances. "Should we follow him?"
"Let’s follow. But keep a safe distance."
Tuss’s speed only increased, his legs a blur of motion. The students had to resort to their flying vehicles as Tuss was quickly disappearing from their sight.
"What a beast." Tyrone couldn’t help but swear. He didn’t have his mecha with him, so he chose to run after Tuss.
He couldn’t believe it. After resting for half an hour, he was sure he could catch up with Tuss, who had been fighting non-stop.
Ender, Kilana, and Daleks were also running on foot. The reason being, Ender’s lev had broken down.
Daleks declared, "Once we get back to Planet Alpha, I’m doubling my physical training."
Kilana agreed, "Count me in."
Ender suggested, "Let’s find a trainer to help us create a personalized training program."
When they finally caught up with Tuss, they were dumbfounded by the sight that met their eyes.
"What the...," Tyrone twisted his face in disbelief. "If you wanted to take a bath, why didn’t you just say so? Why the hell did you run?"
Tuss submerged himself in the cool pond water, scrubbing his hair vigorously. He shot a glance at them, his face impassive, and said nothing.
Daleks, gasping for breath, managed to say, "He really was disgusted by his own filth. Damn cleanliness freak."
"I feel dirty too," Ender started stripping down, "Let’s all clean up."
Everyone else looked down at themselves and started undressing as well.
"Hey, female alphas, go over there."
"No, we’re okay here. If we’re not bothered, why are you?"
"You’ve got no shame. Guys, let’s go over there."
"My body is for my brothers and future wife to see, except female alphas."
"You don’t even have bigger muscles than mine, why would I want to look?"
"No body shame, please."
.....
There were several different sizes of pools, but no one dared to share one with Tuss.
As Ender dipped himself into the water, he continued to send communication requests to Yuri. After countless attempts, he finally got through.
As soon as the communication link was established, Yuri was greeted by the sight of well-toned bodies clad only in shorts. Her brain nearly short-circuited.
"Ah, the camera’s pointing the wrong way, sorry." Ender apologized, shifting the lens to focus on Tuss.
Just at that moment, Tuss looked over. His eyes met Yuri’s.
Yuri swallowed, her cheeks heating up as she stuttered, "What are you doing?"
"Taking a bath," Tuss’s voice was low, as he emerged from the water and started walking towards Ender. More accurately, he was walking towards Yuri.
"Have you dealt with the insectoids on your end?" Yuri asked, her gaze unabashedly roaming over Tuss.
Tuss gave a nod. "Planet 132 was bombarded by artillery. Experts predict that it won’t be safe for human habitation for another ten years. We’re likely to be tasked with evacuating the residents from Planet 132 next."
Understanding dawned on Yuri. That explained why the cannon’s power during their battle with the insectoid queen a few days ago was much weaker than she had expected.
"That’s why armies usually move the battleground to the space," Tuss added.
Yuri was suddenly intrigued.
"Yuri, Tuz’s been acting weird," Ender interjected.
Tuss shot Ender a warning glance.
But with Yuri present, Ender felt fearless. He gave Tuss a provocative look and continued, "He’s killed a lot of insectoids these past few days. His mood’s been off. He looks like a wild beast, fierce and foolish. He scared us when he ran off without a word just now."
Yuri was taken aback. Like a beast? Fierce and foolish?
"Don’t listen to his nonsense," Tuss blocked Ender, pushing his head under the water with one hand.
"Spare me—!" Ender frantically scurried away.
Yuri watched him with amusement in her eyes. "I’m coming to find you," she said.
The communication line cut off, Tuss’s face grew colder, a chill emanating from him that was almost frightening.
"It seems to be getting chilly. Maybe we should stop bathing?"
"Yeah, let’s get dressed and head to the administrator for our new assignment."
One by one, everyone rose from the water, hurriedly dressed, and ran off as if escaping Tuss.
"Tuz, calm down, Yuri will be here soon," Ender said, a trace of anxiety in his voice.
Tuss hummed in acknowledgment. He took a deep breath and dived back into the water with a splash.
"Is it the Sea of Consciousness or heat period?" Tyrone, already dressed, couldn’t help but feel a bit of fear from the aura Tuss was emitting earlier.
"Both. It’s been almost a month since Tuz’s last heat period," Ender said with a frown. "Finding a completely enclosed space during a heat period is a bit tricky."
"The safe area is crowded, I heard from the administrator yesterday," Hoolin added.
"Let’s just stay in these mountains then. We’ll keep our distance," Daleks suggested casually.
Ender’s eyes lit up. "That’s a good idea."
During their heat period, alpha territories were very conscious of their boundaries. After dressing, Ender and the others slowly backed away, waiting at a distance.
"Is it okay for Yuri to come here?" Tyrone asked.
"Would Tuss hurt Yuri?" Hoolin questioned.
"How many times are you guys going to ask those questions? It’s annoying," Daleks complained.
"You’ll see soon enough," Ender assured them.
Yuri arrived in less than twenty minutes. The moment she stepped out of her vehicle, she was swept into Tuss’s arms.
"Whoosh—"
"You’re freezing. Get in the car and change," Yuri suggested.
"Come with me." Tuss promptly scooped her up and headed into the car, shutting the door behind them with a resounding thud.
"Tuss’s face changed the moment Yuri appeared," Tyrone observed.
"Gentle as water, right?" Daleks added.
"What a double-standard pig," Hoolin accused.
"You’ll understand once you got your own girlfriend," said Daleks.
Tyrone, Daleks, Hoolin: "What do you know? Don’t you also not have one?"
Ender ignored their teasing, feigning a yawn as he said, "Let’s go. The next scene isn’t something we can watch."
Tuss placed Yuri on the bed, undressed himself in front of her, then went to find his clothes.
Yuri was stunned into silence. She blinked, her gaze instinctively following Tuss’s movement. When his attractive and athletic body was covered by clothes, she felt a tinge of disappointment.
"Do you like watching?" Tuss suddenly turned back to her.
Caught red-handed, Yuri felt her face heat up. She quickly changed the subject, "Lie down, let me help you sort out your Sea of Consciousness."
