I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 43: Revenge

Chapter 43: Revenge

Tuss paused in his stride, didn’t look back, then continued onward.

With a spark of interest in her eyes, Yuri smiled and asked, "Are you guys really that curious? Is being an alpha that important?"

"Isn’t it?" Daleks retorted. "In the interstellar world, alphas are rare. They hold power, strength, wealth..."

It was an honor to be an alpha for everyone, with very few exceptions.

Yuri nodded in understanding. It was like people in a post-apocalyptic world striving to become an Enovan, namely an Enova carrier and user.

"So, Yuri, is Tuz an alpha or not?" Daleks asked again.

"Why don’t you ask him to release some pheromones for you to smell?" Yuri suggested, chuckling.

Not too far away, Tuss halted, turned around with a helpless look at Yuri, then walked back, saying, "Wouldn’t it be better if I throw him a punch and let him see if I still have my strength?"

Yuri scoffed, "I thought you said you’d beat the hell out of him."

Daleks widened his eyes and protested, "Hey hey hey, be nicer to me, okay?"

"Well, you weren’t very nice to me before. Let me remind you, it was the second day I was discharged from the hospital," Yuri pointed to her right arm and continued, "I was not only an omega, but also disabled."

Instantly, Daleks felt immensely guilty. He closed his eyes and resigned himself, "Go ahead."

Even if Yuri wasn’t Tuz’s wife, the fact that she had saved him was enough for Daleks to take the humiliation and a punch.

Looking at his readiness to accept punishment, Yuri scoffed and finally said, "Forget it, I’ll let you off the hook."

At Yuri’s words, Ender breathed a sigh of relief. Daleks opened his eyes and gave Yuri a goofy smile.

But then, a potent woody scent came rushing at them.

Uh-oh. Ender, Rei, and Daleks staggered as their faces changed color. Daleks grabbed onto Yuri, steadying himself.

Yuri shot Tuss a glare—she too couldn’t handle alpha pheromones.

Tuss, taking the hint from Yuri, slowly withdrew his pheromones, a dark light flashing in his eyes. One day, he would make sure every inch of her was marked with his pheromones.

"What the... What just happened?" Unable to help himself, Daleks blurted out, "You’ve become an alpha again?"

"Is it just me or do your pheromones feel even stronger than before?" Ender asked, sniffing the now faint scent in the air.

"I haven’t tested yet," Tuss replied.

"Why don’t we go test now?" Daleks suggested, his curiosity piqued.

Yuri was the first to decline, "I’m busy, you guys go."

Daleks looked at her and asked, "Yuri, aren’t you a bit upset that you can’t smell Tuz’s pheromones?"

"Yeah, it’s a real bummer," Yuri replied nonchalantly, "Not being able to smell doesn’t stop you guys from using your pheromones to bully this omega. Poor omegas."

Daleks was speechless. Will she ever let this go?

Thanks to Yuri’s diversion, no one brought up the topic of testing ranks again.

The group leisurely headed towards the mansion. Daleks had a list of questions, but as soon as he entered the place, he was mesmerized by the stunning view, forgetting all his queries as he admired the landscape. It was a huge manor.

Ender gave a nod of approval, "Good job scoring this estate."

"Yuri told the military that she wanted the best estate on Planet Alpha," Tuss stated plainly.

Ender froze, offering Yuri an impressed thumbs-up, "Yuri, you’re amazing."

Yuri feigned ignorance to his teasing, accepting his praise calmly.

After nearly half an hour of walking, they finally saw the house.

"Don’t you have any vehicles in the estate?" Daleks asked.

Tuss looked at Yuri, weighing his words, "Should we?"

"No need. Consider it exercise." To be more precise, it was speed training. Yuri didn’t see a problem with her proposal.

"What? Tuz doesn’t have legs," Daleks protested.

Yuri twitched a smile at Daleks’ sympathetic gaze, knowing that if Tuss started running, Daleks would stand no chance at catching up.

"I’m fine," Tuss stamped his feet, earnestly reassuring, "These fake legs work well."

Daleks was skeptical, as even well-functioning legs wouldn’t appreciate the daily run home, given how large the manor was.

As he was about to voice his thoughts, Ender tugged his sleeve, shaking his head to signal Daleks to not interfere too much.

"Are we just gonna let her bully Tuz?" Daleks whispered.

Yuri’s ears perked up at his words, she growled, "I am bullying him. So what? Got a problem?"

"You can’t be so unreasonable—"

Daleks’ remaining words were cut off as Ender covered his mouth firmly.

"Yuri, he doesn’t know better, don’t mind him," Ender apologized, laughing.

Watching this scene, Rei frowned, "Tuss, did you do something to upset Yuri?"

"Why do you ask?" Ender looked at his brother.

"If Tuss hadn’t done something wrong, why would Yuri punish him like this?" Rei looked troubled, then blurted out, "Tuss, are you having an affair with that cape lady?"

"I wish," Tuss said without thinking.

Daleks and Ender were shocked, their eyes wide as they looked at Tuss in shock, thinking he was having an affair.

Yuri sighed, looking skyward. She figured she’d just let them misunderstand.

The group entered the house, each wearing a different expression.

"The chef just arrived. Are you guys hungry? Would you like some fruits and snacks?" Without waiting for a response, Yuri headed straight to the kitchen.

As soon as Yuri was out of sight, Daleks immediately grabbed Tuss by the collar, demanding, "Spill it. Who is this cape lady?"

Ender held onto Tuss’ shoulder, "Can she really control crazy alphas?"

Rei chimed in, "Tuss, tell them the truth and tell them I wasn’t lying."

In the kitchen, Yuri told helpers to bring fruits, drinks, and snacks to the living room. Then she headed to the study to continue her middle school coursework.

With only two months before school started, she needed to speed up her learning to finish her middle school courses.

When the food arrived, Daleks and the others relaxed a bit more without Yuri around.

Half-leaning on Tuss, Daleks looked serious, "Tuz, are we brothers?"

Tuss averted his gaze, "No."

Daleks seemed taken aback, but persevered, "Are we friends?"

Tuss continued to look away, "Not necessarily."

Daleks looked hurt, "Tuz, you’re not the Tuz I knew. If we’re not brothers, not friends, at least we’re classmates, right? And future comrades? Shouldn’t comrades share joys and burdens together?"

Tuss sensed a trap, so he didn’t respond.

Taking his silence as agreement, Daleks continued, "So, if there’s a powerful beta, shouldn’t we share that, too?"

Tuss laughed coldly, his eyes flashing with deadly intent, "Don’t even think about it."
