Chapter 204: Birth of Yuri’s Child

Ever since Tuss left Planet 4581, people were speculating that he was off to deal with the Space-sparkle pirate gang. Someone posted online, asking, "When do you think the Space-sparkle pirate gang will be wiped out?"

Beneath the post, there were all kinds of guesses.

"Two weeks."

"Twenty days."

"Thirty days, any more would be a disgrace to Tuss, an SSS-tier alpha."

"What if the Space-sparkle pirate gang hide deep in space?"

"Then let’s hope they get eaten by insectoids."

"...."

However, contrary to everyone’s expectations, Tuss only took eight days.

When a battered battleship approached Planet 4581, everyone was filled with mixed feelings.

Recalling Yuri’s grand return from the Empire, they couldn’t help but compare it to Tuss’s modest comeback. The difference was too significant.

Someone quipped, "After all, the Space-sparkle pirate gang doesn’t have as much wealth as the Empire’s royal family."

On hearing this, everyone nodded in agreement.

As the battered battleship landed, the soldiers gathered around.

"Sir, where’s your loot?" they joked, figuring that the pirates must have had plenty of treasures.

Tuss, with his stern face, said without emotion, "It’s on the ship."

He walked away towards his quarters without giving them another glance.

The soldiers looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Did he leave the door open so we could go in?"

"I think so. Maybe he wants us to clean up the inside and inventory the loot."

"Shall we go in then?"

"Why not? There’s nothing to worry about."

Taking a collective breath, the soldiers charged into the ship.

Three minutes later.

Ugh—

They all came rushing back out, some bending over to vomit, others pale and unsteady on their feet.

Instead of piles of gold and jewels, they were greeted by a small mountain of skulls.

Ten minutes later, the soldiers had regained their composure.

"Should we go back in?"

They exchanged glances, understanding the sentiment in each other’s eyes. Then, steeling themselves, they bravely entered the ship again.

They were fearless in the face of live pirates, yet here they were, shaken by the sight of the dead. It was embarrassing.

With that thought, their fear and discomfort seemed to dissipate somewhat.

In the end, each soldier walked out of the ship carrying a skull, proudly forming a long line towards the memorial built just three months ago.

Hundreds had escaped the battle, and now they held the same number of skulls.

Their revenge was complete; their fallen comrades could now rest in peace.

The construction team worked efficiently. In just three months, the outpost, which was previously barren, had transformed into a fully equipped station.

Not just the outpost, the area not far from it, which had been a desolate, uninhabited wilderness, had transformed into rows of skyscrapers and bustling shops, forming a highly commercialized town.

Every day, Yuri would hold free grooming sessions for the Sea of Consciousness of alphas who flocked from all corners of the Alliance in a large indoor stadium just outside the outpost.

The alphas varied in their tiers, and the chaos in their Sea of Consciousness differed too, but to Yuri, whose psychic power was already at level-nine, these were no issues at all.

The stadium could accommodate fifty thousand people at a time, so Yuri would groom the Sea of Consciousness of fifty thousand people at once, taking six hours.

Each time she finished grooming, she would exit the stadium to find the alphas fast asleep, snoring loudly, while she showed no signs of fatigue.

As the number of new recruits increased, Yuri and Tuss brought in some sergeants from other places to help them lead the troops.

Apart from grooming the Sea of Consciousness for the alphas and making mechas every day, Yuri also guided the training of the new recruits for an hour each day. Her appearances were always the highlight of the day for the new recruits.

This made Tuss quite jealous, and he would often "punish" her when they returned to their dormitory at night.

In contrast to Yuri, Tuss was also very busy every day, dealing with paperwork, leading the new recruits out of the defense line to eradicate insectoids, and searching for minerals.

With an increasing number of soldiers under their command, they couldn’t just sit back and relax; they had to keep earning more money because both mechas and battleships were very expensive.

When Daleks brought tens of thousands of people to the outpost, Yuri was taken aback and said, "Are they all your classmates?"

"And friends of my classmates," Daleks said sheepishly.

"And friends of those friends," Ender added.

"Yuri, some of them are my classmates too," Tyrone admitted awkwardly.

Frowning, Yuri said, "I didn’t know so many of you would come. We don’t have enough room for everyone."

Daleks, Ender, and Tyrone looked even more guilty.

"Maybe some of you could sleep in the battleships?" Yuri suggested, indicating that more dormitory buildings would need to be built.

"As long as we have a place to sleep, we’re not picky."

"Wow, a battleship! I’ve never been on a battleship before."

"Daleks said we could learn how to pilot a battleship, wonder if it’s true."

"..."

Ignoring the dormitories, all the students rushed toward the battleships.

After Daleks, Ender, and others arrived, Tuss took them farther outside the defense line. Previously they would return every day, but now it became once every few days, with a few days of rest each time they returned.

Every time they came back, they brought several small and large battleships, each filled with various items. Not only that, but the fifty dimensional buttons that Yuri had bought from the Empire were also filled with things, including insectoid corpses, various ores, and even some plants, such as medicinal herbs.

This routine lasted for two months. On the third month, Tuss stopped going out because the due date for their child was approaching.

"Should we pick a good day for the baby to be born?" Tuss asked Yuri for her opinion.

There were two types of childbirth in artificial wombs, natural birth, and c-section. If they wanted to choose a good day for the baby to be born, they would have to opt for a c-section.

Yuri glanced at Tuss and said, "Do you still believe in this?"

Tuss hesitated and said, "On the interstellar net, that’s what everyone says."

"I don’t care. Whatever day my kid chooses to be born, that will be a good day," Yuri declared obstinately and unreasonably.

Tuss immediately agreed with her, saying, "Yes, let our baby choose it for itself."

So, they decided on the method of their child’s birth—natural birth.

As it turned out, their son had a knack for picking the right day. After half a month of continuous snowfall, on this day, the snow stopped, the sun came out, and their baby was born.

Even though he was born from an artificial womb, doctors and nurses were still needed for the delivery, making it not much different from natural childbirth.

Yuri and Tuss, dressed in sterile suits, watched from the side. Both of them were becoming parents for the first time, so one can only imagine how emotional they were. They held each other’s hands tightly, their bodies slightly trembling, and they were almost moved to tears.

However, the very next second, they were stunned.

Their son, whom they imagined to be soft and weak, kicked a hole in the artificial womb and crawled out on his own.
