Yuri escaped, and so did Tuss, taking positions to the left and right of the insectoid queen. The level-nine insectoid queen glanced at them and ignored them, turning around to return to the ore planet above.

"Yuri, Tuss, hold it off for a bit longer. We are close to breaking through the insectoids’ siege," Martin’s voice suddenly echoed inside their mechas.

Yuri’s expression hardened. Looking at the level-nine insectoid queen that had quickly moved a kilometer away, she knew she and Tuss couldn’t catch up to it, but—

A level-eight psychic power blade targeted the insectoid queen’s Sea of Consciousness.

"Now!" Yuri shouted.

Upon hearing the signal, Tuss from the other side launched a bundle of metal wires towards the level-nine insectoid queen.

Their mechas maneuvered in all directions - up, down, left, right, slicing the insectoid queen’s body.

The insectoid queen, in pain, rolled around on the spot, its claws grabbing at the metal wire in rage.

Yuri and Tuss were jerked around by this action, their mechas almost colliding with each other.

People were worried about Yuri and Tuss as the insectoid queen was getting furious."

"We can’t keep going like this. We won’t be able to hold on," Tuss declared.

"Then let’s cut off its head," Yuri proposed, tasting the metallic tang of blood in her throat.

"The head is too hard, not easy to cut through," Tuss disagreed. "Yuri, you use your cannon to distract it. I will control the wires inside its body."

"Okay."

Yuri used her level-ten cannon to target the level-nine insectoid queen’s eyes, but it was swatted away by a paw.

Undeterred, Yuri continued to fire, adjusting the distance so that the explosion occurred right in front of the queen.

The relentless level-ten energy wave from the cannon shook the level-nine insectoid queen’s wounds open, continuously enlarging them.

The level-nine insectoid queen howled in agony, fury boiling in its green eyes. She was set on annihilating this pathetic human kind and her machine.

The insectoid queen pounced towards Yuri.

"Yuri, run!"

The audience in the live stream had a cold sweat. The wrath of the level-nine insectoid queen was palpable, and they could feel it even through the screen.

Just as the insectoid queen was in full pursuit of Yuri, Tuss made his move. He manipulated countless blades to penetrate the insectoids’ wound and fly into its body.

"Slice it for me," Tuss gritted his teeth, a torrent of Enova surging from the crystal core.

A crack appeared on the crystal core.

Tuss groaned in pain, clutching his head.

The level-nine insectoid queen suddenly stopped, its face twisted in agony. Its wounds were multiplying, expanding—

Yuri knew that was Tuss’s doing. She immediately turned back, the level-ten cannon bombardment kept on, while the level-eight psychic Enova surged once again, fiercely piercing into the level-nine insectoid queen’s Sea of Consciousness.

"Tuz, quickly, bombard it with me," Yuri managed to say, her body aching all over, shaking with pain.

"Okay," Tuss tried to keep his voice steady, manually controlling the mecha to aim the cannon at the level-nine insectoid queen.

Two of the Alliance’s most advanced mechas, one in front and one on the left of the insectoid queen, continued to unleash their strongest firepower.

"The level-nine insectoid queen is like a popcorn, expanding and cracking—" someone commented online.

"The metaphor is so fitting."

"This time it’s doomed."

"I wonder how Tuss and Yuri are doing. Being so close, their mecha’s shell is charred."

"By rights, at such close range, their mechas should not withstand the energy impact and disintegrate. But these two mechas always surprisingly endure."
