I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 177: Enough Astracredit

Chapter 177: Enough Astracredit

Yuri, having absorbed metal genesis from two major warehouses, still looked somewhat unsatisfied.

"I’ll go get you more," Tuss offered, moving towards the exit.

"No need, I’m good," Yuri quickly stopped him, "I’m not feeling uncomfortable anymore."

Tuss paused, checking the time. "It’s morning now. If you feel bad in the afternoon, I’ll go get more."

"A whole month has passed. We still haven’t finished mining the sphalerite?" Yuri asked curiously.

"We’re almost done. The money from selling the sphalerite, after taxes, is enough to buy a medium-sized battleship. But our military rank isn’t high enough to purchase a battleship, so I plan to buy a cargo starship first." Tuss sought Yuri’s opinion.

Yuri blinked in surprise. "Are we that rich already?"

Tuss nodded. "If you mean in the hundreds of billions, then yes."

That day, Tuss went and bought a cargo starship, spending tens of billions instantly.

By the afternoon, Yuri’s pregnancy sickness worsened.

Tuss, having left in his mecha, returned in the starship filled with sphalerite. Apart from the starship, the numerous dimensional buttons he held were also filled with sphalerite.

With that, the sphalerite on that planet had been fully mined.

He’d need to find new ore.

This time, Yuri had her fill, and she slept soundly through the night, not even realizing when Tuss left in the middle of it.

When she woke, she found a note by her bedside: "Gone mining, back by ten."

Yuri assumed Tuss must’ve left around seven or eight, but in reality, he had left just after one in the morning.

By ten, Tuss was back right on time.

Having already eaten breakfast in the mess hall and sipped a bottle of Nutrient Fluids, Yuri was in the yard practicing making psychic sensors when the acidity in her stomach flared. It was then that Tuss walked in.

In that moment, Yuri’s eyes lit up like she’d seen her savior.

Seeing her face pale, Tuss rushed to her side. "Feeling bad again?"

Yuri nodded, remaining silent out of fear she might throw up.

"I’ll take you to the warehouse." Tuss scooped her up in his arms and rushed out like the wind.

Brian and the others happened to witness this.

"What happened to Yuri?"

"Did something go wrong? Let’s follow and check."

Tuss and Yuri had just reached the warehouse when Brian and the others showed up.

"We saw you rushing with Yuri. We thought something happened, so we came to check," Brian explained.

By then, Yuri was already absorbing metal genesis, her cheeks flushed. She gave Brian and the others a small smile. "Sorry for the misunderstanding."

"As long as everything’s okay," Brian replied, scratching the back of his head awkwardly. He looked at the nearby ores, "Did Tuss mine all these?"

Yuri nodded, "Yes, he did."

Tuss and his mining activity were already well-known. The large warehouses here, as well as the starships that came every few days to transport the minerals, were too big to keep a secret.

"Tuss is amazing," Brian praised sincerely. The frequency of the starship arrivals made it clear how much ore Tuss had mined by himself - the number was staggering. They had privately speculated how many astracredits Tuss had earned from mining. Some said tens of millions, others said billions, but Brian felt it was far more, possibly tens of billions, or even more.

Everyone knew how much Tuss was earning, but no one dared to follow suit. This was because not only did Tuss mine a lot, he also killed many insectoids.

Without Tuss’s strength, leaving the defense line to mine was akin to offering oneself as a snack to the insectoids.

To ensure Yuri had metal genesis to consume daily, Tuss spent every day cruising around different planets looking for and mining ores. He was out early and back late, so busy he was rarely seen.

Yuri once tried to dissuade him, saying she could absorb less metal genesis each day, and it wouldn’t be a problem. But Tuss shook his head after hearing this. "Compared to your struggles, this is nothing. And honestly, if our roles were reversed, wouldn’t you do the same?"

Yuri was at a loss for words. She knew she would.

"Even though I’m busy, I’m not tired at all," Tuss reassured her.

Yuri looked skeptical. "Really?"

"Do I look tired to you?" Tuss countered.

After scrutinizing him, Yuri had to admit that he looked vibrant and not at all worn out.

As Tuss was always busy, Yuri didn’t tell him about her prenatal appointments and planned to go alone.

One day, when Tuss left, Yuri drove her lev slowly towards the hospital.

Sixteen weeks pregnant, this was Yuri’s third prenatal appointment.

Her pregnancy wasn’t showing much yet, and with her loose clothing and light steps, she didn’t look pregnant.

Yuri entered the hospital, get registered, and kept a low profile throughout.

Wearing a fluffy hat that left only her eyes visible, it was virtually impossible for anyone who wasn’t very familiar with her to recognize her.

Therefore, to this point, apart from Xiva and some hospital staff, no one else knew about her pregnancy.

After waiting for about ten minutes, it was Yuri’s turn.

She met the doctor, chatted about her recent health condition, and the doctor gave her a form for blood tests and scans.

Yuri silently noted that the prenatal check-up procedures in the interstellar hospital were similar to those in her previous life.

She made the payment on the opticomputer and then headed towards the blood collection room.

Whether by coincidence or for other reasons, Yuri was the only patient in the room when she entered.

"Please expose your arm," the nurse ordered without any expression.

Yuri took off her coat, rolled up her sleeve, and sat in the chair, extending her arm.

The nurse didn’t even look at the form in her hand. She began to tie up Yuri’s arm and sterilize it.

A strange feeling arose in Yuri’s heart. Why isn’t the nurse verifying my identity? During my previous visits, I remembered the nurse asking, "Name?"

Only when the names matched would they proceed with the blood draw. Did they forget this time?

Just as the nurse was about to insert the needle into her vein, Yuri felt a surge of unease and abruptly pulled her hand back.

The next moment, the petite nurse sprang from behind the counter and lunged at Yuri. Yuri dodged backwards, seeing the unidentified bottle in the nurse’s hand. She quickly grabbed her coat and draped it over herself.

At the same time, Yuri activated Enova, covering her body.

The unidentified liquid splashed over, most of it landing on the coat.

What is that? Yuri didn’t dare to take any chances and immediately threw away the coat.

Seeing this, the nurse threw another set of bottles and jars at her. The bottles smashed on the floor, and a strong scent instantly filled the room, drifting outwards.

Yuri instinctively knew she couldn’t stay here any longer. As she dodged, she retreated towards the door.
