I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 163: A Bit Dumbfounded

Chapter 163: A Bit Dumbfounded

Two level-three and four insectoids were defeated in an instant, and the scene fell into silence, as if time had come to a standstill.

Inside the beat-up spaceship, everyone stared out at a familiar red and green mecha. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing, rubbing their eyes to make sure.

"That mecha looks familiar..."

"It’s identical to Yuri’s mecha."

"It must be a copy. Yuri should be in class at this time."

"But what if...?"

Were they saved by Yuri, this would be a story to tell for a lifetime.

"Hello, everyone. I’m a patrol officer. The insectoids are defeated. What’s your condition? Any injuries? Do you need any other help?"

Yuri’s clear voice echoed in the spaceship and mecha.

The next second, cheers of pure elation erupted from the insectoid hunter squad.

Yuri: ".... Looks like everyone’s alive."

The cheering continued for more than a minute before it gradually quieted down.

"We have three severely injured and about thirty minor injuries. We have a medical bay in the spaceship, so it’s not a big issue. Also, our spaceship has taken some damage, but we have our own repair crew. We will manage," the captain of the insectoid hunter squad reported.

"That’s good, as long as everyone’s okay," Yuri replied.

"Thank you, Officer Yuri, for saving our lives," the captain said sincerely.

Yuri raised an eyebrow, "You know it’s me?"

"Your mecha is one of a kind."

"Your voice is delightful."

"And judging by your skills, defeating the insectoids instantly, there’s no one else but you."

The people inside the spaceship buzzed with conversation.

Yuri gave a wry smile, "You sure know how to flatter."

"Let’s talk more then. Officer Yuri, how did you end up at the 458 Defense Line?" someone asked.

"Training," Yuri answered succinctly. Although the truth couldn’t be hidden forever, she would avoid revealing it for as long as possible.

"So, will we see you more often?"

"It depends. If you want to find me, you can check out my live stream. Look for "Yuri at 458". If you want to find me, you should be able to guess my location from my live stream."

"You’re doing live streams?" everyone was surprised.

"If the military is doing it, why can’t I? Once I recruit my own soldiers, I’ll need to support them, so I need to work hard to earn money. Speaking of which, these two insectoids—"

"They’re yours."

"You defeated them. They should be yours."

"You saved us. We owe you a thank you gift. Our spaceship still has some insectoids. If you want, come take a look. Choose whatever you want."

"That’s right, choose anything. You can even take them all."

Everyone in the squad was exceptionally enthusiastic, showing no reluctance.

"No need. I’ll take the level-four one. You can keep the level-three one, considering your losses," Yuri said.

"Yuri is truly kind-hearted. We thank you, Yuri."

"Yuri, give us your contact. Let’s hang out sometime. We can introduce you to the best foods at 458."

"Yuri, let’s defeat more insectoids together."

"....."

With a frozen expression, Yuri, dragging the level-four insectoid, made a hasty retreat.

The patrol mission continued. When Yuri got a chance to check her live stream, she found the chat filled with laughter emojis. She asked curiously, "What are you all laughing about?"

"Just something."

"Seems like we found your weakness."

"I noticed it too."

"We all did."

".... "

Yuri was even more puzzled, "Why haven’t I noticed it?" What is my weakness?

The 458 Defense Line was long, and every so often, an outpost was established on a planet. These outposts were not only staffed, but they were also equipped with weaponry and medical facilities.

Yuri leisurely flew for three hours. When she arrived at the next outpost, her patrol mission was completed.

"Let’s see how much they’re offering here," Yuri said, dragging the level-four insectoid with her mecha towards a buying station not far from the outpost.

The massive body of the level four alien landed in a pile of snow in front of the buying station’s door, drawing the people inside out.

"Well, well, this is quite impressive. Its fur is pure white with no impurities, and the entire skin is undamaged," the owner of the buying station praised, not trying to downplay Yuri’s catch to get a better price.

Yuri got out of her mecha and got straight to the point, "Give me a fair price."

The owner looked at Yuri, eyes gleaming. " What brings you here? Beautiful young lady?"

Yuri, used to everyone recognizing her, casually replied, "I’m stationed here now. I’ll be here for quite a while."

"That’s great news. With you here, we’ll feel safer," the owner said cheerfully.

A smile appeared on Yuri’s face, "I don’t recall there being any major insectoid invasions here."

The owner sighed, "No major invasions, but quite a few smaller ones. When they can’t find food, they come after people. The stationed soldiers and insectoid hunters would deal with them, but there were always casualties."

Yuri remained silent.

"Forget the past. With you here, things will be different," the owner smiled again, looking at the level-four insectoid’s body. "Are you selling this?"

Yuri nodded, "Yes. Name your price."

After a pause, she added, "Just give me what others usually get."

As soon as she said that, the chat in her live stream erupted with laughter.

"Is Yuri worried about the merchant making a loss?"

"There’s no honest merchant. Is Yuri overthinking?"

"If Yuri did business with me, I’d be willing to lose everything to her."

"Me too."

Not only the live stream but the owner of the buying station also couldn’t help but laugh when he heard Yuri’s words. He looked at Yuri more kindly, "Alright, I’ll give you the usual rate. The fur of this alien is top quality, I’ll give you one million astracredits for that. The meat can be used as feed, which is not expensive, but you’ve got a lot of it, so I’ll give you thirty thousand. The bones, teeth, and claws can be turned into craftworks, and they fetch a higher price, so that’s a hundred thousand for them. In total, that would be 1130,000 astracredits. If you agree, I can transfer the payment to you right now."

Yuri nodded and gave her account details to the station owner. The next second, her account had an additional 1.13 million astracredits. The Alliance encourages everyone to hunt insectoids, so the income from hunting insectoids is completely tax-free.

"Communication number?" the station owner said to Yuri.

Yuri was puzzled, Why are so many people asking for my contact information today?

"Next time if you have too many prey and can’t carry them, we can have a call first and I’ll send people over to buy them," the station owner explained.

Understanding dawned on Yuri, and she readily gave the owner her communication number.

She didn’t notice that her livestream chat was once again filled with laughter.

"So it’s him giving his contact information to you, not you to him. How would he know when you have too many prey?"

"Ah, our silly girl."

"She’s not aloof anymore, but she’s even cuter."

"She’s so adorably silly."
