I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 154: By Strength Alone

Chapter 154: By Strength Alone

Two mechas, blackened and blasted, had hardly flown far before they were caught by a pair of enormous claws. Each claw held a mecha as if it was nothing more than an ant.

"Oh my gosh, they couldn’t get away?"

"I can’t watch anymore, sob, they’re both my heroes."

"I bet Yuri is heartbroken. What if the two guys who loved her the most are gone?"

"....."

Tears streamed down the faces of fans watching on the interstellarnet.

But the actual situation wasn’t as dire as the spectators thought.

Tuss, already at level six, divided his Enova into two. One half protected himself, and the other half shielded Officer Lyao. Under his control, the metal on the mechas transformed into razor-sharp blades that stabbed fiercely into the insectoid queen’s claws.

The insectoid queen felt pain, but rather than let go, her fury only made her grip tighten.

A steady stream of blood flowed down from the battered mechas, splattering Officer Lyao. A flicker of surprise flashed in his sharp eyes. Is this the insectoid queen’s blood? How can this metal break her shells that even missiles couldn’t?

Officer Lyao was also confused.. What perplexed him more was his current situation. His mecha was squashed and deformed, yet he wasn’t hurt.

Inside the spaceship, Boan quickly scrambled into a mecha, his face anxious as he said, "You guys better hold on."

Boan, like a beam of light, shot out at the sight of the insectoid queen’s tight grip. His face a mix of rage and sorrow, he bellowed, "Give me your life!"

He didn’t care about the distance or whether the artillery bombardment would harm him. There was only one thought in his heart and mind – destroy this level-eight insectoid.

"Boan, calm down," Martin shouted. They had already lost Tuss and Lyao. They couldn’t afford to lose Boan too.

"I can’t calm down. If we don’t kill this disgusting bug, how are we going to face the First Commander and Yuri?" Boan yelled.

Meanwhile, Tuss noticed other metals approaching.

"It must be the Alliance’s mechas," Tuss thought. This was the chance for him and Officer Lyao. Only if it was the Alliance’s mechas would they rescue him and Officer Lyao after their escape.

Their mechas were destroyed. If he and Officer Lyao were exposed in the star ocean for too long, their fate would be death.

It was a chance they couldn’t miss.

Tuss used all the Enova in the crystal core to control the metal on the mechas, and fiercely slashed at the insectoid queen’s claws—

Roar.

The insectoid queen let out a shrill shriek. Her claws were so deeply cut that only a thin layer of skin remained—

The claws released, and Tuss and Officer Lyao were exposed in the star ocean.

Boan’s eyes widened. He immediately piloted his mecha toward Tuss and Officer Lyao, grabbing each of them and stuffing them into his own mecha.

Roar.

The frenzied insectoid queen roared again.

Her golden vertical pupils narrowed to a thin line.

"Uh-oh, she’s about to go berserk," Martin said, feeling a chill run down his spine. "Boan, get out of there, quick."

"I know," Boan yelled back, but before he could turn around, a psychic wave, more ferocious than any before, was closing in.

The psychic wave was invisible, but in that moment, everyone could sense its formidable presence and oppressive power.

It’s over.

That was the unanimous thought on everyone’s minds, both at the scene and those watching via the interstellar net.

However, the anticipated pain didn’t come.

Surprise flashed across Boan’s eyes. The next moment, he hastily directed his mecha to flee.

Seeing him still moving, Martin, from afar, laughed and jeered, "You brute! I’m this far away and I’m in so much pain I can’t move. How’d you manage to not pass out?"

"The truth is, I didn’t feel a thing," Boan said smugly.

"That’s impossible," Martin didn’t believe him.

"Hey, another red and green mecha."

"Damn, it’s Yuri, she’s here."

"Damn, it was Yuri who blocked the insectoid queen’s psychic attack for you guys," Martin said jealously.

Boan also spotted the red and green mecha, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of relief, "Good thing she arrived just in time."

After catching his breath, Officer Lyao looked at Tuss, "Next time, I won’t try to persuade her. She can go wherever she wants."

Tuss, who was still staring at the red and green mecha, said, "She doesn’t like being told what to do. But she doesn’t mind others’ goodwill."

As soon as Tuss finished speaking, Yuri’s voice rang out on the public chat channel, "Tuss, are you still alive?"

"I’m alive, Yuri, you saved me again," Tuss’s voice softened.

"I hope there won’t be a next time. I don’t want to have to save you again," said Yuri. She was when she saw him in danger on the livestream.

"I’ll try my best," Tuss said.

"Is Officer Lyao okay?" Yuri asked again.

"I’m fine," Officer Lyao responded, seeing her firing while approaching the level eight insectoid queen, he couldn’t help but warn her, "Yuri, this insectoid queen is very strong."

"It’s okay. I’ll just try. If I can’t, I’ll run. I think she’s pretty tired, she probably can’t outrun me," Yuri said.

Still worried, Officer Lyao said, "With you here, we can wear it down slowly. Your safety is more important."

"Okay." Yuri’s heart warmed slightly, she accepted Officer Lyao’s genuine concern, regardless of his motives.

Yuri’s appearance brought relief not only to those on the scene, but also to the fans watching on the interstellarnet.

"Yuri always gives a sense of reliability."

"It’s a feeling of safety."

"And trust and reliability."

"All thanks to Yuri’s strength..."

"....."

The moment the red and green mecha appeared, Hill gritted his teeth. They were so close. The Alliance nearly lost two SSS-tier alphas.

"Uncle Hill, in the Alliance, two SSS-tier alphas might not be as important as one Yuri," Jira said.

"Why’s that?" Hill looked at her skeptically.

"Because Yuri is very powerful. The upper echelons of the Alliance have declared that ten SSS-tier betas aren’t as important as one Yuri." Jealousy filled Jira’s eyes. She was a prestigious princess, yet she wasn’t even worth ten SSS-tier betas. What makes Yuri so special? She wondered.

Hill was taken aback, then began to laugh maliciously, "What if we killed her, then—"

"The Alliance would be in tears." Jira also laughed.

The insectoid queen was in a frenzy, bent on revenge. It didn’t pay any attention to Yuri, who had suddenly appeared. Its golden vertical pupils locked onto Boan’s mecha and pursued relentlessly.

Yuri’s firepower was only at level two or three, not enough to hurt the insectoid queen. So, the insectoid queen didn’t even spare Yuri a glance.

"I’m preparing to attack its Ocean of Awareness. There may be a leakage of psychic power, so you’ll need to speed up," Yuri warned Boan.

Boan’s eyes lit up. "Okay."

Boan pushed his speed to the maximum.

Yuri blinked her eyes and fiercely drew on the psychic power from the Ocean of Awareness, transforming it into a blade, and ferociously stabbed it towards the insectoid queen.
