I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 153: Chaos
Chapter 153: Chaos
When Tuss once again faced the level-eight insectoids, the Empire sent in a different team, probably due to the recent loss of nearly a thousand high-ranking Alphas. Now, both the mechas and battleships of the Empire didn’t dare to approach the insectoid queen.
The Alliance was in the same boat.
Everyone was still spooked by the psychic waves of the insectoid queen.
However, while they kept their distance, the insectoid queen showed no such restraint. With her rough, thick, and unbreakable outer shell, she roamed between the borders of the Empire and the Alliance with abandon.
The moment Tuss appeared, she immediately charged at him. Her golden vertical pupils were filled with ferocity, as if to say that she remembered him, that it was him who had wounded her.
She pursued, Tuss ran.
Tuss specifically chose to run towards areas far from the Alliance’s camps, but the insectoid queen saw through his plan. With a flick of her tail, she sent him flying back.
The red and green mecha rolled for a kilometer before stabilizing, and without a word, charged again. This time, he didn’t just shoot, he also wielded a large sword.
Seeing the sword, a hint of disdain flashed through the insectoid queen’s golden vertical pupils.
The insectoid queen didn’t take Tuss’s sword seriously. She attempted to swat Tuss away as she had done before, swinging her long tail hard towards the red and green mecha—
There was a squelch.
The sound of a blade piercing flesh.
The sword that she didn’t take seriously had lodged itself into her tail.
On the Alliance’s interstellarnet, the military had also started a live broadcast. The camera panned from the soldiers fighting against the insectoid army, all the way to the level-eight insectoid queen’s tail. There, a red and green mecha was hanging, with a large sword, four to five meters long, buried in the insectoid queen’s tail.
The level-eight insectoid queen roared in anger, her tail swinging crazily. The mecha was flung about, rolling and rocking, but she held tight onto the sword handle, refusing to be thrown off.
After dozens of shakes, the insectoid queen realized the red and green mecha was still there. She lost her patience, grabbed her tail with her claws, and dragged her long tail closer.
"You can see the anger in her eyes, she must want to crush the red and green mecha."
"Is the sword stuck in the bone of the insectoid queen’s tail, unable to be pulled out?"
"If that’s the case, he should abandon the sword, survival is more important."
"...."
Just as the insectoid queen’s claw was about to grab the red and green mecha, the viewers’ hearts rose to their throats.
There was a snap, something broke off.
It turned out that Tuss, controlling his mecha Enova, had cut off the insectoid queen’s long tail.
The insectoid queen opened its mouth wide and let out an angry roar.
That big mouth could swallow a battleship whole.
Nearby mechas and battleships took the opportunity and fired missiles into its open mouth.
The insectoid queen quickly closed its mouth, but some of the missiles still exploded inside.
Blood spilled from its mouth.
However, this wasn’t what angered it the most. What enraged it the most was the one who had cut off its tail.
The insectoid queen ignored the other mechas and battleships. Her golden vertical pupils focused on the red and green mecha, determined to crush it to pieces.
Tuss cranked up his power to the maximum, darting about like a mudskipper.
"Tuss is in danger, I have to go help him," said Martin, getting up and heading towards his mecha.
"I’m going too," Officer Lyao stood up as well, instructing the people beside him to get him a new mecha.
"But your injuries—"
"I can handle it."
Tuss was controlling his mecha, jumping around nimbly, barely escaping from the clutches of the level-eight insectoid queen several times.
The insectoid queen’s anger grew and finally, its patience was exhausted.
A powerful psychic wave attacked again, Tuss’s mind went white, and his green mecha suddenly stopped.
"Damn, it’s a psychic wave, everyone, retreat—" Martin screamed.
"No, I have to go save Tuss." Officer Lyao’s mecha accelerated forward.
"You’ll die," Martin stretched out his hand to try to grab Officer Lyao but missed. He watched helplessly as Lyao charged forward.
Officer Lyao’s black mecha was constantly firing, preventing the level-eight insectoid queen from reaching Tuss with its sharp claws.
Elsewhere, Hill and Jira watched this scene from afar.
"This time, that guy called Tuss should be dead, right?" Hill gloated.
Jira slowly nodded, "At such a close distance, he won’t escape."
When they were at Military Academy No. 1, she had tried to enter Tuss’s Sea of Consciousness but had failed. But she was just SS-tier then, now she was SSS-tier. She was confident that she could break through his mental shield if she tried again.
However, there was no longer such an opportunity.
No alpha could resist the psychic wave of a level-eight insectoid queen.
"I heard Theodore isn’t his match. Good, we don’t have to do anything, and he’ll be dead," Hill smirked, as the Empire had one less formidable enemy.
Tuss was indeed suffering. The mental shield that Yuri had cast for him cracked and shattered, and the psychic power of the level-eight insectoid queen created huge waves in his Ocean of Awareness.
If there was even a little disorder in his Sea of Consciousness, it would collapse on the spot.
But it didn’t.
Tuss endured the initial pain, his consciousness slowly returned, and he controlled his mecha to retreat rapidly.
"Officer Lyao, don’t come here," he said difficultly.
"Too late," Officer Lyao’s voice sounded strained, "The psychic wave of a level-eight insectoid is really something."
Thankfully, Tuss was still alive. Otherwise, he wouldn’t know how to explain to Yuri.
"He’s actually not dead." Hill’s eyes widened in disbelief, "How is this possible?"
"Could there be an SSS-tier beta in his mecha as well?" Jira speculated.
Hill sneered, "That’s even better. An SSS-tier alpha and an SSS-tier beta, the Alliance will suffer a heavy loss this time."
In the distance, the level-eight insectoids had caught up with the red and green mecha, opened its big mouth, and bit down hard on the mecha.
"Tuss!" Many people exclaimed on the public chat channel.
A dense hail of artillery fire flew over the starry sea.
The red and green mecha tried to accelerate, but the insectoid queen’s big mouth caught hold of the tail of the mecha.
"Now’s the opportunity, everyone, aim your fire at the insectoid queen’s big mouth and fire." Hill shouted excitedly.
A trace of pleasure flashed through Jira’s eyes, Yuri, your alpha is about to die.
"Hold on Tuss, I’m coming to save you." Officer Lyao accelerated again.
The psychic wave subsided, and Martin and others also flew over.
Tuss frowned, and in a heroic move, he used the Enova to sever the part of the mecha that was caught in the jaws of the level-eight insectoid queen.
Simultaneously, the metal controlling that part elongated and thinned—
The insectoid queen, feeling the sharp pain in its mouth, instantly spat out the offensive object. The acidic gastric fluid sprayed out, some of it landing on Tuss’s mecha, and the surface immediately sizzled with corrosive damage.
The Empire’s artillery fire also arrived.
Tuss’s mecha was in a semi-destroyed state. Even when he pushed the speed to the maximum, it was still crawling forward at a snail’s pace.
Officer Lyao’s black mecha happened to rush in front, grabbed the red and green mecha, and tried to pull it away.
The artillery fire continuously bombarded the two mechas. Inside, Tuss and Officer Lyao were hit by the energy blast, their clothes shredded, their skin ripped open.
The two mechas were blasted into charcoal, glowing red.
Had the defense of the two mechas been even slightly weaker, they would have already shattered into pieces.
"Bombard those Empire bastards!" Martin roared in anger.
So, a part of the Alliance’s firepower was directed at the level-eight insectoid queen, and a part targeted the Empire.
