I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 141: Another Starstone

Chapter 141: Another Starstone

When Tuss and Theodore started to tussle, students at Military Academy Number One were taken aback. It felt like this day was finally here.

Fighting was prohibited at Military Academy No. 1, but as long as it took place on the sports field, as long as no one was seriously injured, there were no consequences.

Everyone had been waiting to watch this duel for a long time.

They gathered their friends and rushed to the scene. But as they approached, they quickly retreated. Whoa. A fight is a fight. But why do they have to release their pheromones?

Other students had to step back about a few hundred feet and set up their recording devices. Through the camera lenses, everyone realized they could see better, could slow things down, could even play it back. It wasn’t worse than watching in person. In contrast, they couldn’t keep up with the swift movements of the combatants on the field with their naked eyes.

"Theodore is kind of sneaky, focusing his attacks on Tuss’s legs."

"With Tuss’s iron-like legs, Theodore might be disappointed."

"Man, Tuss is brutal too. Every punch lands on Theodore’s face."

"Tuss has been really patient with him and hasn’t even used his legs."

At some point in the fight, Tuss’s legs, once seen as a weakness, became his advantage, his secret weapon.

This was an overwhelming victory. Tuss didn’t even have to try hard to defeat Theodore.

By the end of the match, Theodore was battered and bruised, his handsome face swollen, while Tuss didn’t have a scratch.

From then on, the undefeated reign of the empire’s crown prince at Military Academy No. 1 was broken.

After stepping off the field, Tuss headed straight for Yuri with a modest smile on his face, as if to ask, "Do I look good?"

But before he could speak, Yuri stepped back quickly, saying, "Don’t come near. Go wash that amber smell off you first."

Tuss was taken aback but showed no sign of annoyance. He hurriedly apologized, "My bad. You don’t like this smell either, right? It can be overwhelming. I’ll go wash it off right now and come find you after."

After he finished speaking, Tuss darted off like a bolt of lightning.

Seeing this, all the alphas present quickly checked their own pheromones, fearing they might overwhelm their idol.

After Theodore lost to Tuss, the students from the empire became more cautious. Apart from attending classes, they were rarely seen.

Yuri continued to help the alphas clear their Sea of Consciousness every night. Nowadays, the number of alphas she helped daily had increased to 1,500. Officer Lyao said if this kept up, she would be busy for nearly half a year before it got a little less hectic.

Yuri didn’t mind it; she saw it as a way to practice her Enova abilities.

She had survived nearly a decade in a post-apocalyptic world, fighting endless hordes of zombies, constantly risking her life, experiencing both danger and fatigue, with no hope in sight. She’d endured all that, so this was nothing in comparison. It was merely clearing someone’s Sea of Consciousness, earning money, and improving her Enova skills. She saw no reason not to enjoy it.

Moreover, when she saw those alphas who were on the verge of a Sea of Consciousness collapse, or even death, reborn anew, she felt a sense of fulfillment like never before.

Even after experiencing a decade of deception and inhumanity in the post-apocalyptic world, her conscience, her kind side, had not been lost.

Just when the students thought things were calming down, a sudden video stirred up a storm.

The video was posted by Nick, the leader of the Space-sparkle Pirate Group, one of the top ten pirate groups. In the video, Nick nonchalantly played with a starstone, the stone that could elevate a beta’s level.

The precious thing that both the Alliance and the Empire considered national treasures was tossed around by Nick like a toy. Several times, the starstone almost hit the ground but was snatched up by him just before it touched.

Everyone watching felt their hearts almost stop.

"Is Nick just showing off?"

"He’s too arrogant, so annoying."

"Last time the Alliance sent ten battleships, and they still didn’t wipe out the Space-sparkles?"

"The pirates have countless hideouts. If he wants to hide, you won’t find him even if you search the entire galaxy."

"Back to the point, what’s his purpose?"

After Nick tantalized the viewers, he then smirked, saying, "Want the starstone? Fine, exchange it for your betas."

The moment Nick’s words were out, many people wanted to smash their opticomputers.

"I don’t want just any beta. I want that one, the Alliance’s SSS-tier beta, the one called Yuri."

People from the Alliance were provoked and outrageous.

By the time Yuri found out that some big pirate wanted to exchange her for a starstone with the Alliance, it was already the next day.

As soon as she entered the classroom in the morning, her classmates cast her worried, concerned glances.

Before she could ask, someone said, "Yuri, don’t be scared. The Alliance will definitely not agree to exchange you for a starstone."

Yuri looked confused. "What starstone exchange?"

Everyone stared wide-eyed. "You didn’t know?"

Five minutes later...

After watching the video, Yuri calmly turned off her opticomputer and said, "Everyone back to your seats, class is starting."

"Aren’t you worried?" Sagato whispered to her.

"Worried about what?" Yuri asked.

"The exchange?" Sagato replied.

Yuri laughed, a murderous glint in her smile, "If they dare, I will destroy them."

Yuri’s domineering demeanor was so cool.

At noon, the high-level officials of the Alliance personally declined Nick, stating that no matter what he offered, they would not exchange any of their betas.

But they were willing to buy if he accepted astracredit.

Meanwhile, Officer Lyao had already left Planet alpha, heading to the Chaotic Galaxy to negotiate with the Space-sparkles.

That evening, Nick posted another video.

"Are you sure you don’t want to exchange? An SSS-tier beta for a starstone. Maybe in a few days, you could have several SSS-tier betas."

Nick’s words were full of temptation.

Some people believed him.

"Maybe we should have a try."

"We already have one SSS-tier beta, maybe the next one is just around the corner."

"If the Alliance had several SSS-tier betas, we wouldn’t be far from ruling the galaxy."

"Damn you, have you lost your humanity? Perhaps you don’t know that Yuri groom the Sea of Consciousness for fifteen hundred alphas every day? She is devoted to the Alliance, and you want to send her to the pirates? Scum."

"She’s sorting through fifteen hundred by herself now. If there were more SSS-tier, it wouldn’t be fifteen hundred a night but twenty-five hundred, thirty-five hundred, or even ten thousand."

"Huh, you think SSS-tier betas grow on trees and would just come off that easily? Last time there was a starstone, why didn’t we see the Alliance get a few more?"

"Just because there weren’t any last time doesn’t mean there won’t be any this time."

"What if we exchange Yuri, but none of them level up to SSS-tier afterward? Are you going to bear the consequences by yourself?"

"....."

The interstellarnet was filled with arguments.
