I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 140: Warding Off Evil

Chapter 140: Warding Off Evil

On the third night of the vacation, Tuss took Yuri back to the manor, not to their regular residence, but to a different building.

Looking at the large, column-like structure in front of her, Yuri widened her eyes and asked, "When did this get build up?"

"A month ago," Tuss replied. "It was fully completed five days ago."

Surprised, Yuri asked, "Why didn’t I notice?"

Tuss said helplessly, "You were always sleeping when we got back, of course, you wouldn’t notice."

Yuri pondered. Indeed, for some time now, she had been falling asleep on the way back, and leaving asleep too. She hadn’t paid much attention to the changes at the mansion.

Tuss put his arm around Yuri’s shoulder, feeling a bit anxious and also excited. "Let’s go in and see if you like it."

Yuri raised an eyebrow. Could it be prepared for her?

The inside of the building was even bigger than it looked from the outside, covering thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of square feet.

However, what astonished Yuri was not its size, but its facilities. "You’ve actually built a mecha factory here."

Tuss shook his head and corrected, "Not exactly. It’s a personal mecha-making workshop. Officer Lyao personally approved it."

Yuri was even more curious now. "Officer Lyao knows about it? When did you start planning this?"

"From the moment you agreed to come back to school," Tuss replied. Back then, they didn’t have the manor. He was planning to buy a piece of land in the suburbs to build it, but then they got the manor. The manor was big enough that even with the workshop there, it wouldn’t disturb anyone with noise.

Yuri felt touched. She hugged Tuss and said, "You’re wonderful."

Tuss breathed a sigh of relief, his eyes smiling. "As long as you like it."

"I love it," Yuri nodded firmly. "I’ll take a look around."

Half an hour later, Yuri and Tuss emerged from the cylindrical workshop. She asked curiously, "Officer Lyao personally approved this for you? Isn’t he afraid I’ll ditch him, not helping him rescue the alphas, just focused on researching and making mechas?"

Tuss shook his head, "He said, with the workshop, you’ll need more money."

Yuri choked, resignedly saying, "No wonder everyone says he’s as cunning as a fox."

Tuss agreed, "Otherwise he wouldn’t be the heir apparent to the First Commander."

After three days of vacation, Yuri found her classmates were even more enthusiastic.

"It’s the power of money," Ender clarified for her.

"Especially for poor folks like me. I practically wish I could put you on the shrine, Yuri," Jo confessed earnestly.

Yuri waved her hands quickly, "I’m still young, I don’t want to be put on a pedestal so soon."

"Yuri, you’re already on the pedestal," Ender said, barely suppressing his laughter. "In the student dorms of Military Academy No. 1, almost every room now has your picture hanging."

Confused, Yuri asked, "Why?"

Everyone in the room exchanged glances. Daleks couldn’t hold it any longer and burst out laughing.

The others also started laughing, unable to stop.

Yuri looked at Tuss, the only one not laughing, and asked, "Do you know why?"

"I don’t know, but I’ll have them take down the photos," Tuss said, a chill in his voice. The thought of so many people staring at her pictures before sleep made him angry enough to kill.

"No, no, Tuss, calm down," Daleks quickly grabbed Tuss.

"Wait, Tuss. There’s a reason they hang Yuri’s photos," Ender joined in trying to pacify him.

Tuss’s anger didn’t wane. "No matter what the reason is, they can’t."

"Tuss, you’re being too petty, it’s just a picture. Yuri, you need to set him straight," Daleks complained to Yuri.

Yuri watched them with amusement, saying, "Give me a reason to convince him."

"They’re hanging your photo as a talisman. It’s not about romance at all," Daleks said with a firm voice.

There was an odd silence after Daleks’ words.

Yuri cleaned out her ear, unbelieving. "Say that again?"

Daleks flinched, feeling surrounded by a murderous vibe, but because it was Yuri’s request, he steeled himself and said, "They say that with a flick of your wrist, tens of thousands of level five insectoids perish instantly. Your terrifying reputation is now well known throughout the bug realm, scaring all the insectoids. With your photo hanging up, no insectoids would dare to enter their dorms anymore."

Yuri: "...."

That day, the photos that the students had just hung were torn down in a matter of hours.

"It’s okay, I have hundreds of pictures of Yuri in my opticomputer, I bet Tuss doesn’t have that many."

"I also have hundreds, plus videos. I’ve saved every video related to Yuri on the interstellarnet."

"Better not let Tuss know about this. He might make you delete them."

"No worries, if we delete them, we’ll just re-download them. He would have to delete the ones on the interstellarnet too."

"...."

Yuri still went to classes during the day and helped the alphas sort their Sea of Consciousness in the theater at night. After the Necroflutter incident, the Alliance had once again strengthened security, and the hidden enemies had momentarily calmed down.

The Empire’s prince and princess, along with a dozen exchange students, woke up after sleeping for a day. Everyone seemed to have an unspoken agreement not to discuss the Necroflutter incident. They behaved as if the psychic power attack on them never happened, everything was normal.

One day, Yuri was stopped by Theodore on her way to the library.

"What is it?" Yuri glanced at him, too lazy to even put on a polite facade.

Theodore’s deep eyes were gentle and passionate, gazing directly at Yuri. In his charming voice, he said, "Yuri, marry me, and you’ll be the Princess of the Empire, and the future Empress."

Yuri scoffed. Is the Empire planning to make her one of their own because they couldn’t kill me?

Not wanting to engage in a conversation with him, she sidestepped and continued on her way.

"Yuri, I hope you’ll seriously consider it. If you marry me, you’ll be the most noble woman in the Empire, and even the entire galaxy," Theodore said solemnly.

Even though there would be a lot of resistance to an Alliance woman becoming the Empress of the Empire, Yuri was the only SSS-tier beta in the galaxy. He was confident that he could persuade anyone who opposed.

Yuri’s response was a cold laugh. "I’m not interested."

"Why?" Theodore caught up with her. "If you marry me, I wouldn’t force you to sort for anyone else. You won’t have to work so hard, and you’ll have plenty of time to do what you want. Yuri, I am also an SSS-tier alpha, I’m as great as Tuss. In fact, I’m even better than him, I have a complete body—"

Thud.

A gust of wind swept in, blowing Theodore away from Yuri.

Theodore stumbled back a few steps before regaining his footing. Turning to look at who had intervened, Theodore angrily said, "Tuss, it’s you?"

"So what if it’s me? Theodore, Yuri is my wife." Tuss looked at Theodore as though he were looking at a dead man.

"You two can divorce, after divorce she won’t be anymore," Theodore countered.

"No, I won’t divorce," Yuri said.

Her words immediately pleased Tuss, who then looked at Theodore provocatively and said, "Did you hear that? Get the hell out of here."
