Chapter 137: Tuss’s Legs

Exhausted after helping the teachers of Military Academy No. 1 grooming the Sea of Consciousness, Yuri fell asleep on the spot. It was deep into the night, and the school buses had stopped running. Fortunately, the school had provided them with a lev. Tuss carried Yuri into the lev and sat down, still holding her.

"You can place her on the back seat. I drive very smoothly, so she won’t fall off," the driver suggested to Tuss.

Tuss glanced at him briefly and said, "No need."

His cold and forceful gaze caused the driver to shrink back. He quietly drove off, not daring to look back.

The lev lifted off the ground, heading towards the dormitory area. Unlike the villas of the foreign exchange students from the Empire, which were far away from the crowds, Tuss and Yuri’s dorm was right next to the student dorms.

Cradling Yuri against the seat, Tuss gently closed his eyes.

After nearly five minutes, the driver who had been too afraid to look back suddenly turned around. A cruel look flashed in his eyes. The next second, without any warning, the lev ascended into the sky, rocketing up to a height of a thousand meters.

Tuss’s eyes snapped open, meeting the driver’s challenging and malicious grin. "If you two turn into fireworks in the sky, will the Alliance weep rivers of tears?" he taunted.

As soon as he finished speaking, the driver jumped out of the car.

The urgent beeping started. Tuss quickly held Yuri and jumped from the car too. He saw the driver’s parachute emerging and swiftly drifting away.

With a thought, Tuss used his Enova to direct a piece of blade towards the driver’s parachute.

Thwack—

The parachute ripped, revealing a hole.

Scared, the driver screamed and suddenly plummeted from the sky.

At the same time, there was a loud explosion. The car exploded in the sky, shaking the entire Military Academy No. 1.

Students were jolted awake by the sound. They jumped out of bed and rushed out of their dorms. Seeing the flaming wreckage falling from the sky, their eyes widened in shock.

"Whoa, what was that?"

"What just blew up?"

Wooo—

The alarm sounded, and the entire guard team sprang into action.

"Holy cow, who else but Yuri could cause such a stir?"

"Oh no, I hope it’s not Yuri."

"Where is she?"

The students, not even bothering to dress, rushed down from their dorms in a panic.

"Did Yuri just get blown to smithereens?"

"Shut your mouth."

"I don’t want to think it, but I’m scared. My grandpa and dad have finally found hope in life, and I don’t want anything to happen to our goddess more than anyone else."

"Yuri will be fine. She’s so powerful."

"But where is she? From that height, anyone falling would surely not survive."

"Let’s search around."

"...."

In the next moment, the dark campus was lit up as bright as day, all the school’s lights turned on.

"Come over here, guys. There are two thin, dark, unidentified objects."

Someone suddenly yelled.

In the next moment, everyone crowded around, curiously examining the two thin objects. Following their trajectory upwards—

"What’s that at the top?"

"Looks like a person."

"Hey, hey, hey, they’re coming down."

"Whoa, it really is a person."

"Not one, but two."

The two thin objects rapidly shrunk, shorter and shorter, until their true form became apparent.

The students were taken aback, stunned. They were a pair of legs.

Just then, Tuss, cradling Yuri, returned to the ground.

"Hush—"

Tuss placed his finger to his lips, signaling everyone to be quiet.

The students were dumbfounded, glancing from Tuss to Yuri in his arms, and finally back to his legs. A hundred question marks filled their minds, with the most pressing one: how did he do that with his legs? Does the Alliance have this kind of technology now? Just now, those legs have become as thin as hair strands, yet they remained upright and didn’t bend. How is that possible?

"Tuz, is Yuri okay?" Daleks pushed through the crowd, looking at Yuri, who had her eyes closed, and asked in a low voice.

"She’s fine. Just asleep," Tuss said.

"Even with all this noise, she didn’t wake up. Are you sure she’s okay?" Daleks asked, still worried.

I protected her immediately with my Enova. Tuss thought, but to Daleks, he said helplessly, "She’s really fine. Can you ask the people up front to make way? I need to take her back."

Daleks was still worried, but for now, he had to clear the way for Tuss.

Apart from Daleks, Ender, Kilana, and Hoolin, who arrived later, also accompanied Tuss back to the villa.

Once in the villa, Tuss took Yuri back to her room, gently placing her on the bed. He took off her shoes and clothes, and covered her with a blanket before leaving the room.

"Tuz, what happened tonight?" Ender asked.

"After leaving the grand hall, we got into the lev arranged by the school. The driver was suspicious. He took the car high into the sky and then blew it up," Tuss said. He turned to a member of the guard team and added, "The driver must have fallen from a great height. You should be able to find his body."

"We found him." One of the guards said, "He’s splattered on the ground."

"Serves him right." Daleks spat.

"He got what he deserved." Hoolin said with a satisfied face.

"There were six attacks on the campus tonight. Our forces were scattered, providing an opportunity for the enemy. Now, we’re guarding the villa around the clock. You can sleep with peace of mind," the captain of the guard team said.

Tuss nodded slightly and said, "Thank you."

"No need for thanks, it’s our duty," the captain replied, his face stern.

"I’m staying here tonight," Daleks said, his tone brooking no argument.

"I’m not leaving either," Ender chimed in.

"Me too," Hoolin quickly added, seeing the others decided to stay.

Kilana stood up and said, "I’ll go then. See you tomorrow."

Yuri slept until morning. Seeing Daleks, Ender, and Hoolin, she was surprised. "What brings you here?"

The three looked at each other and said, "You don’t know what happened last night?"

"What happened?" Yuri asked, completely clueless.

Upon hearing her question, Daleks immediately relayed the events of the previous day. After he finished, he couldn’t help but express his astonishment, "With such a loud noise, you didn’t hear it?"

"No, I must have been too tired," Yuri responded, yawning.

"Yuri, do you know what’s going on with Tuz’s leg? It’s not an ordinary prosthetic, right? Tell us, we’re dying of curiosity," Daleks pleaded, his tone ingratiating.

"Go ask him yourself," Yuri said dismissively.

"Ask me what?" Tuss came downstairs.

"Your leg," Yuri replied, picking up a bottle of Nutrient Fluids before heading towards the door, "I’m off to class."

Daleks, Ender, and Hoolin surrounded Tuss, demanding, "Tell us the truth."

Tuss gave them a contemptuous look, and the next moment, he disappeared from his spot. When he reappeared, he was already at the villa’s main gate.

Daleks, Ender, and Hoolin immediately chased after him, shouting, "Catch him!"
