I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 131: Targeting Tuss

Chapter 131: Targeting Tuss

Today, Tyrone was extra courageous. He fought like his life depended on it, unafraid of getting hurt himself if it meant he could wound his opponent more. In the end, he narrowly won against Herbert.

Once the match was over, both boys were unrecognizable, their handsome faces bruised and battered. They both had to be helped out of the arena.

"Take...me...to Yuri," Tyrone managed to say.

Daleks rolled his eyes at Tyrone’s plea for Yuri, the mention of her name sounding far too heartfelt for his liking. "Ease up, man," he said, sounding sour. "Don’t make it obvious."

Tyrone turned to look at him, his swollen eyes barely open. Yet, even this thin slit was enough to show his irritation. Lowering his voice, he said, "You guys kept secrets from me."

Daleks rolled his eyes again. "We’re keeping secrets from everyone in the Alliance, you’re just one of them."

Tyrone stayed silent after that.

With help from Daleks and Ender, he made his way out of the crowd and towards Yuri.

"Are you really hurt? Do you need to rest in the healing pod?" Yuri gasped, preparing to get her own pod.

"Thanks, Yuri," Tyrone managed to say.

As soon as Yuri’s healing pod was activated, the half-dead Tyrone was back on his feet in just ten minutes, looking as handsome and dashing as ever.

"Yuri, I’m going back to class. I’ll come play with you tomorrow," Tyrone waved at Yuri, looking reluctant to leave.

Ender facepalmed. It was a good thing Tuss wasn’t here, or else Tyrone would’ve gotten a beating.

"Tyrone is acting weird today," Hoolin scratched his chin. He arrived in the middle of the fight between Tyrone and Herbert and felt like he missed something.

"Do you know what happened to him yesterday?" Ender asked.

Hoolin nodded. "By the time I got the message and arrived, he was already okay."

"So, stay away from that Jira. You’re in danger, too," Ender warned. As an SS-tier and the grandson of the first commander, Hoolin was an easier target for Jira than Tyrone.

"I know. The moment I see that Jira, I want to run a hundred meters away," Hoolin admitted, thinking Tyrone was foolish to let Jira get close. If it weren’t for the mysterious SSS-tier beta, Tyrone would’ve been gone by now.

The SSS-tier beta had been more active recently. Is her identity going to be revealed soon?

After school, Officer Lyao sent Yuri a message saying he found her some more business. He asked if she was free that night.

Yuri said she was.

After dark, she and Tuss used the special passage of Military Academy No. 1 to quietly leave the school grounds.

The meeting place was the same room next to the conference hall. This time, Yuri led the way with Tuss following. As they passed various checkpoints in the military building, they only stirred a light breeze.

Officer Lyao was once again surprised as they walked in. This time, he had not eased the security of the building.

"Nobody saw us, but I’m afraid you’ll have to do something to the surveillance tapes," Tuss reminded him.

Officer Lyao nodded. "I’ve already turned off all the cameras. How did you guys do that? Is it because of some kind of power you have?"

Yuri and Tuss exchanged glances and slowly nodded.

Seeing that they didn’t want to reveal more, Officer Lyao didn’t press the issue. Instead, he said, "The people are waiting in the next room. There are quite a few of them this time, so just do what you can. If you can’t finish, we’ll continue next time."

Yuri hummed in response, her psychic power already reaching the next room.

The conference room was crowded with many extra seats, yet it was still packed. This time, they weren’t taking tests. They were just sitting in chairs, glancing at one another.

"Do you know when she’s coming?" someone finally asked, keeping their voice low.

"Officer Lyao told us to wait, so that’s what we’ll do."

"There’s so many of us. Can she handle all of us in one night?"

"Just be patient. If you don’t get a turn tonight, you’ll get one eventually. We’re on Planet Alpha, after all. They won’t make you come for nothing."

"There are so many applications to the military department. Does anyone know how they choose who gets in here? Is it based on military merits, position, or something else?"

"They prioritize based on the state of the Sea of Consciousness — those in the most critical conditions go first."

"Oh..."

Everyone in the room pondered over this information.

Suddenly, snoring sounds filled the room. Turning to the source, they saw that six people in the corner had somehow fallen asleep.

"She’s here."

Everyone’s eyes widened, and they became even more cautious, even their breaths became lighter.

What followed left them in shock. Starting from the six who were sleeping, those nearby began yawning one by one and then fell asleep in an instant. Every time six people fell asleep, it took less than half an hour for nearly forty people to succumb to sleep.

Those who were still awake were shocked.

This was faster than hypnosis!

Not just the people in the conference room, but even Officer Lyao was surprised when Yuri said she was done. "Every time I think I’ve seen your limit, you always manage to surprise me," he said.

Yuri simply replied, "You can find a bigger place next time."

"How much bigger do you think?" Officer Lyao asked, testing her.

Yuri thought for a moment and said, "Maybe a place for three or four hundred people." She wouldn’t be too tired, it wouldn’t take up too much time, and it wouldn’t disturb her sleep.

Officer Lyao took a deep breath. "Understood."

After they left the military building, it was still before eleven o’clock, so Yuri and Tuss went straight back to school.

"You’ve been coming home later and later these past few days. Is it because midterms are coming up and you’re nervous?" Arya asked with concern.

Yuri paused for a moment before nodding absently. Are midterms already coming up?

"Don’t worry, even if you don’t do well, it’s okay. Everyone knows you haven’t been to school for a month, so it’s normal to not do well," Nithya comforted her.

Yuri felt warmth in her heart. "Okay, I understand."

This psychic cleansing session made quite a commotion. When the news reached the dorms of the exchange students from the Empire, Herbert was so furious that he smashed his coffee mug.

"This is a provocation," Herbert said angrily.

Jira furrowed his brows in thought. "Guiding over a hundred alphas, each at the brink of their Sea of Consciousness... It doesn’t sound real."

"It’s probably true. All those people are officially registered," Theodore countered. The usually nonchalant man’s expression had turned serious. "We need to find her as soon as possible. She either becomes one of us or she dies."

"The problem is we can’t find her," Herbert said in frustration.

"Then lure her out. Keep trying, Jira. Since the Alliance’s SS-tier alphas are hiding from you, then target the SSS-tier ones. Either Hoarah or Tuss," Theodore said, a storm brewing in his narrowed eyes.

Jira frowned. "Breaking through the psychic shields of SSS-tier alphas is even harder. I can only try."

"Choose Tuss. He eats dinner in the cafeteria with his wife every night. He would be easier to approach."
