I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 105: Mutant Rat

Chapter 105: Mutant Rat

Tuss’ mood turned sour when he learned that his wife’s next two days had already been booked by someone else.

"How about we go to the mecha training room together?" Yuri suggested, her voice slightly shaky.

Tuss, lips pressed together, gazed at her with a pair of deep, dark eyes without uttering a word.

"I’m still not very comfortable with the manual operations of the mecha. Could you teach me?" Yuri softened her voice and reached out to hold his hand.

Tuss’ face relaxed a bit and a faint smile appeared. "Next time, think of me first, before others get the chance," he requested.

Yuri nodded eagerly, "Yes, yes. I’ll ask you first next time."

The interstellarnet claimed it was easy to appease an Alpha, all a Beta needed to do was act a bit sweet. This turned out to be true.

Second-grade schedules were jam-packed, with five classes in the morning and four in the afternoon. Each class lasted for fifty minutes, and there were only ninety minutes for lunch and a break.

Out of time, Yuri and her classmates bolted to the cafeteria as soon as the bell rang. As she neared the cafeteria’s entrance, she heard a familiar voice, "Yuri, over here."

Turning toward the sound, she saw Daleks waving her over. In front of him, two trays were piled high with appetizing meals.

"I remember you guys just got out of class too. And your classroom is farther from the cafeteria than ours," Yuri stated.

"I ran here. Consider it exercise," Daleks replied, pushing one of the trays towards Yuri. "Tuz was called away by a teacher and won’t be able to join you for lunch today."

Despite the delicious food, Yuri ate with little appetite. After finishing, she looked at Daleks seriously. "Next time, don’t get food for me."

Daleks was taken aback, surprise crossing his face. "What’s wrong?"

"I’m planning on having Nutrient Fluids for lunch from now on, instead of coming to the cafeteria," Yuri explained. "I’m pressed for time, and I want to save a bit more for a nap."

High-intensity learning needed some rest for productivity.

Daleks frowned. "But Nutrient Fluids taste awful."

"What? No way," Yuri said, taken aback. "Nutrient Fluids come in so many flavors, like different drinks, sweet and sour. They’re actually pretty tasty."

Seeing the sincerity in Yuri’s face, Daleks was speechless, staring at her in shock.

And so, her decision not to have lunch was settled. Although Daleks seemed to have more to say, he didn’t voice any objections. Instead, he told her, "Our class has also reserved a mecha training room, right next to yours. If anyone gives you a hard time, just yell, and we’ll be right there."

Yuri nodded. "Alright."

But in her mind, she thought, Is all that really necessary?

That evening, Tuss walked Yuri to the entrance of her training room.

"Do you want to come in too?" Yuri asked, noticing that he didn’t seem ready to leave.

As expected, Tuss nodded. "Sure."

As Yuri and Tuss entered together, their classmates, who had been warming up, immediately surrounded them.

"I’ve brought myself a tutor, hope you guys don’t mind?" Yuri pointed at Tuss.

"Of course not."

"It would be great if the teacher could teach us too."

"Even if he doesn’t have time to teach us, we wouldn’t mind just watching."

The classmates in her training group chuckled.

"That’s fine." Tuss replied nonchalantly.

The classmates glanced at each other. Indeed, things were different when Yuri was around—his menacing attitude seemed to have vanished, and he wasn’t giving an icy face all the time.

Over in the neighboring classroom...

"That traitor Tuz, going off to train the people in Class Two."

"Nonsense, Tuz is clearly there to teach Yuri."

"If Class Two can watch, there’s no reason our Class One can’t, right?"

"Should we head over?"

"Let’s go, let’s go."

The next moment, more than forty students from Class One burst into the training room of Class Two.

That night, the students from Classes One and Two became unprecedently united, directing all their questions toward Tuss. With Yuri by his side, they bombarded him with questions about everyday issues, one after another.

Tuss explained and demonstrated simultaneously. When he saw Yuri concentrating, he elaborated. When he noticed she understood, he moved on with a brief summary.

Those standing aside were brimming with irritation but couldn’t vent it.

After all, they were merely observers.

Until half-past ten at night, when the training room was about to close, everyone still had questions left unanswered.

"Let’s continue tomorrow."

Someone suddenly shouted.

Tuss’s face hardened, and he quickly led Yuri away.

"Yuri, we’ll continue tomorrow, next door to the previous training room. Don’t forget."

"Yuri, remember to come on time tomorrow."

"We’ll be waiting for you."

The voices echoed behind them, yelling at Yuri’s retreating back, followed by bursts of laughter.

Yuri’s lips twitched, "Your classmates sure are lively."

"They’re quite annoying. You should keep a distance from them in the future." Tuss said seriously.

"Well, I find it fun." They were young and full of energy, which made her somewhat envious. Even though she had a young body, her mindset was quite different from that of a typical teenager.

"If you like it, you can join us for our classes in the future." Tuss planned to compare their schedules that night. Not only could she attend his classes, but he could also accompany her to hers.

"Are there rats in campus?" Yuri asked out of the blue.

"No, why—" Tuss’s face changed. He quickly pulled something from his pocket and tossed it into the sky. The next moment, the entire campus was as bright as daylight.

"Darn, Tuss, you broke the rules just to create a romantic moment."

"Huh, what’s that noise?"

Aah——

A shrill scream echoed across the entire campus.

The bright light Tuss tossed out lasted for about ten seconds, enough for everyone to clearly see the ugly creature with a row of jagged teeth, a sharp snout, a short chubby body, and hair like steel needles.

"What is that?" It looked like a rat, but not quite.

"It seems to be a mutant rat from the lab." Tuss responded.

Yuri furrowed her brows, Does the lab really keep so many rats?

There were hundreds of these creatures in their vicinity alone, possibly even more throughout the rest of the campus.

"A lot," Tuss responded, unsure of the exact numbers, "These rats are highly toxic, be careful not to let them touch you."

"You too, be careful," Yuri took out two stacks of thin blades, made by Tuss.

Tuss, on the other hand, was armed with a long knife.

"They’re coming."

"Help, anyone with a weapon, lend it to me."

"I need a weapon too."

The mutant rats, as if they had been given a command, attacked in hundreds, if not thousands. The scene was horrifying, and Yuri’s fear of large crowds was about to be triggered.

Tuss swung his sword, leaving after images in the air, and soon a pile of rat carcasses accumulated at his feet.

Yuri hid behind Tuss, refusing to look at the disgusting mutant rats, and randomly flung the blades in her hands.

Even though she did it randomly, each of her blades found its mark, striking lethal blows. Her rat extermination speed was even slightly faster than Tuss’s.
