I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 102: The Third Commander
Chapter 102: The Third Commander
After successfully signing up, Yuri found her dormitory information on the opticomputer: Dorm B, Building 4, Unit 3, Room 604.
A dorm room was shared by four students. When Yuri pushed open the door, she was met with the wide-eyed astonishment of her new roommates.
"Oh my gosh, pinch me!"
"No need for pinching, girl, I see it too, she’s real."
The two girls couldn’t believe their eyes.
"Could you make way, please?" Yuri asked the two girls blocking the doorway, feeling slightly awkward.
"Wow, her voice is so nice."
"Cool and aloof, just like a goddess."
Starstruck, the two girls stepped back and made room for Yuri to enter.
The dorm was decently sized, about forty square meters, complete with beds, desks, a couch, and even a private bathroom and washing machine.
Yuri took in her surroundings. Two beds were already occupied, and two were vacant.
"You can pick any bed. It’s first come, first served. But if you prefer one of these," the round-faced girl pointed at the two occupied beds, her smile genuine, "we could switch."
"No need," Yuri replied. "I’ll take this one."
Having chosen her bed, Yuri realized she had no personal items to unpack. She then stood up and said, "I’ll head out for now, see you tomorrow."
"Ah, okay, see you tomorrow." The girls watched Yuri go, a hint of reluctance in their eyes.
As soon as Yuri left the room, the girls turned to each other and burst out, "Oh my goodness, that was really Yuri!"
Excitedly, they logged onto their class group chat. "Tuss, your wife is in my dorm."
"Holy cow, Tuss, your wife is gorgeous."
"Darn it, which dorm are you guys in? I’m coming over to gawk."
"604, but she’s already left."
"Arya, how about a trade? I’ll give you five hundred to switch dorms with me, okay?"
"Not for five hundred, five thousand, or even fifty thousand."
"Nithya, how about five thousand astracredits, deal?"
"I’m not switching either."
"..."
Tuss frowned at his class chat.
"What’s wrong?" Yuri had just reached the ground floor.
"You seem to have been placed in a dorm with the girls from our class," Tuss explained.
"Really? I met two girls, one with a round face, the other with a narrow face." Yuri only remembered vague details, she hadn’t paid much attention.
"The round-faced one is Arya, the narrow-faced one is Nithya. If I’m not mistaken, your other roommate should be Isaya. They are the only girls in our class who aren’t alpha or beta." Tuss shared.
On hearing this, Yuri mused, "This arrangement seems rather deliberate."
Tuss agreed with Yuri’s observation, guessing, "Officer Lyao might have had a hand in it."
"Perhaps Officer Lyao thinks betas have a sensitive sense of smell, and I’d be at greater risk of exposure if I roomed with one. That’s why he assigned me these three roommates. As for why they are from your class, maybe he’s giving me some spies to keep an eye on you?" Yuri joked.
Tuss grumbled, "You might as well just join our class, then you can keep an eye on me all the time. I wouldn’t mind."
"Keep dreaming," Yuri retorted.
The two left the campus and drove to the mall.
Tuss switched the lev to autopilot mode, bent down to check the class group chat and typed in: Arya, could you provide a list of girls’ essentials?
"Sure thing, wait a sec, I’ll make a list now."
"We know too, you should ask us as well."
"Bedding set, comforter, lunch box, toothpaste, toothbrush, and towel are the basics. You need to buy sunscreen too, I’ll take a picture and recommend a few brands."
"Get multiple pairs of shoes and socks. Also, buy extra underwear."
"Don’t forget snacks, buy lots of them. When you’re busy with training, you might skip meals and feel hungry after evening classes."
"Buy some ointments too. Training can be tough, I’ll recommend a few types, both stick-on and rub-on, they are really useful."
"I have a few brands of face masks to recommend."
"This ** brand essence is quite good."
"Didn’t you forget, Yuri has been here for a term already? Do you think she doesn’t know what to buy?"
"Shoo, you’re single dog. There’s a difference between knowing it yourself and preparing it with your boyfriend."
"I suspect Tuss is not buying things, but showing off their sweet relationship."
"Show off more, we are willing to see."
"Double standards of the girls today. In the past, couples showing off their love were fiercely criticized."
"Is it because the person showing off is different now?"
"Bam, nail on the head."
"..."
When Tuss pulled Yuri towards the skincare section, Yuri resisted, asking, "Are you buying?"
"Buying for you," Tuss said, recalling the skincare brands mentioned in the group chat.
Yuri stopped, squinting slightly, "Do you think I need it?"
Tuss felt a sense of danger from Yuri at that moment and shook his head instinctively, "Your skin is very good. But they said these are girls’ essentials."
"Who are ’they’?" Yuri looked at him calmly.
"Classmates," Tuss showed her the group chat.
Two minutes later, Yuri’s expression subtly changed, and after a moment of consideration, she asked, "Why didn’t you ask me?"
"You don’t seem to know much about it," Tuss thought for a moment and said honestly, "You often seem, um, a bit lacking in common sense."
The reason she was like this was probably that she grew up alone, without anyone to teach her.
In the past, there was likely no one to help her prepare for the school year. Now, he wanted to do these things for her. Anything others had, he wanted to give to her.
Yuri didn’t know what Tuss was thinking. She thought she had given herself away and said uncertainly, "Is it that obvious?"
"Not exactly, just occasionally," Tuss replied.
Yuri breathed a sigh of relief and joked, "Perhaps I’m just inexperienced. But seriously, I don’t need these skincare products, I won’t use them."
Tuss looked at her porcelain white, smooth, delicate face that glowed in the light, and nodded in agreement, "You don’t need them."
They purchased many items at the mall, and by the time they returned to the manor, it was already dark.
The lev drove directly to the lawn in front of the house. As soon as Yuri got out of the vehicle, she tensed up, saying, "Something feels off."
Tuss, who had also gotten out of the vehicle, said, "Wait here, I’ll go check it out."
"Be careful," Yuri replied.
Tuss moved silently, his footsteps barely audible. However, as he approached the door, a dark figure rushed towards him.
This enemy was strong.
That was Tuss’s first impression.
In less than twenty seconds, the two exchanged over a hundred moves, their speed was so quick that it was astonishing. What surprised Yuri even more was that Tuss seemed to be at a disadvantage.
Tuss was not just an SSS-tier alpha, but also a Level 5 Enovan. His strength was self-evident.
Yet, the guy was able to easily suppress him now.
Yuri’s emotions were complex. There were countless strong individuals across the universe, and she had been a bit complacent before.
Seeing Tuss about to lose, Yuri quietly approached, ready to intervene if Tuss was in danger.
However, she quickly sensed something was wrong.
There was no malice in the black-clothed man. During the exchange with Tuss, he intentionally avoided Tuss’s vital points. There were a few times when he clearly could have heavily injured Tuss, but he gave up.
Finally, the black-clothed man knocked Tuss down with a kick, pinning him to the ground.
"Alright, enough," the black-clothed man said.
Hearing this voice, Tuss tested the waters, asking, "The Third Commander?"
