I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 101: Yuri’s Achievement
Chapter 101: Yuri’s Achievement
Once they confirmed that the name was Yuri, and not someone who shared her name, Daleks contemplated and said, "I never thought we all had the same taste."
Ender and the others fell silent.
"Why aren’t you saying anything? Don’t you think Yuri is pretty?" Daleks challenged, glancing over his shoulder.
"Well, it’s not that. She’s so skilled that we tend to overlook her beauty," Tyrone honestly admitted.
"I know she’s pretty, but whenever I try to take a closer look, Tuss gives me the cold shoulder. So, I’ve never had a clear impression of Yuri’s beauty," Vernon recalled. The image of Yuri dominating the scene occupied more space in his mind.
"Yuri is truly beautiful. I was in awe when I first saw her," Jo recollected their first encounter in the manor’s living room. Under the soft lighting, Yuri looked ethereal.
As they looked at Yuri’s photos on the school’s web platform, they nodded in agreement. Her delicate features, porcelain skin, and expressive eyes that seemed to reflect her deepest thoughts; she was indeed beautiful.
The academy was never short of beauties, but Yuri’s beauty was unique and unforgettable.
The campus forum was still buzzing.
"The voting results have never been this polarized."
"So, is it rigged?"
"I want to ask, who voted for Yuri?"
"I did."
"Even in her flaws, she’s beautiful. In my heart, Yuri is not just the most beautiful at Military Academy No. 1, but the most beautiful in the entire Alliance and the galaxy."
"I can’t agree more with the previous comment. Instead of asking who voted for Yuri, you should ask who didn’t."
"Daleks, third grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"Kilana, third grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"Ender, third grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"Jo, third grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"Vernon, third grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"Hoolin, first grade class one, mecha combat department. I voted for Yuri."
"....."
Led by Daleks and others, countless students announced their names and classes. To those who doubted the credibility of the data, they presented a counter-argument.
Meanwhile, Yuri was oblivious to the storm brewing online. She was at the registration desk where the friendly teacher asked, "Are you sure about moving up to the second grade? You took a break for half a year and you might struggle to keep up with the curriculum. The faculty recommends that you repeat the first grade. What do you think?"
Yuri shook her head. "I want to join the second grade. I’ve kept up with my studies during the break. I believe I can manage."
The teacher grinned slyly. "Since you’re so confident, why don’t you take a test? It’s the final exam paper from last term. There are a few versions, and I’ll just pick one at random for you. If you score at least 85 out of 100 on each subject, I’ll let you move up to the second grade."
"Okay," Yuri agreed, her heart confident. I’ve covered all the material and memorized the study notes from the top students. I should be fine, right?
What she didn’t know was that the teacher had casually picked one of the most challenging exam papers, rated ten stars in difficulty.
While Yuri took her exam, Tuss went to register at the mecha combat department.
As soon as he arrived, his classmates swarmed him. "Tuss, did you vote for your wife?"
"Vote? What vote?" Tuss asked, confused.
"For campus queen! Yuri already has more than twenty thousand votes."
"The second place Sarmantha, third place Shyya, and fourth place Vivian are still in the double digits."
"Yuri’s incredible. She’s made history at Military Academy No. 1. We’ve never been so united over the campus queen election."
"Thirty thousand now! Ah, Yuri’s too awesome."
Tuss was astounded. The total number of students at Military Academy No. 1 was around sixty to seventy thousand, and Yuri had already received thirty thousand votes...
And her count was still rising. Yuri was indeed popular.
Tuss logged into the campus network and calmly cast his vote for Yuri under the watchful eyes of his peers. He left a comment: "Tuss, voted for his wife Yuri."
Whether she became campus queen or not was not important. But supporting Yuri was crucial.
As Yuri sat alone in the exam hall, her brows furrowed slightly when she saw the questions. Aren’t these from the next semester’s syllabus?
The more she read, the more perplexed she became. The questions covered not only the last semester but also the next. Some even veered into obscure territory.
Thanks to the top student’s comprehensive study notes, even these unusual questions had been covered.
Yuri took a deep breath and began answering the questions swiftly on the holoscreen.
Observing the live feed in the office, one teacher remarked, "Has she given up?"
The teacher who set the paper shook his head, his impression of Yuri tarnished. "The attitude during the exam is also an evaluation criterion. Originally, I planned to let her pass as long as she took the exam seriously, even if her score was not high. But now..."
Perhaps she should spend another year in the first grade.
After nearly four hours and seven subjects, Yuri emerged from the exam hall, completely drained.
"It’s more tiring than fighting a level five insectoid," she said breathlessly.
"Was it really that tough?" Tuss had been waiting outside the exam hall for her.
"The questions were quite challenging. Some even covered second-grade material," Yuri explained, unsure of her performance.
She hoped she had scored at least eighty-five.
"If the questions were too difficult, the teacher might lower the standards," Tuss suggested.
"I hope so. Let’s go find the teacher."
The two of them headed towards the office together.
The teacher, unaware that Yuri had finished her exams, was surprised to see them. "You’ve completed all seven subjects?" she asked.
Yuri nodded. "Could you check my results, please?"
All the questions were multiple choice, and the exam was computer-based, so the results were instantaneously available, but Yuri couldn’t see them.
The teacher looked at Yuri for a few seconds, seemingly reluctant to disappoint her. "How about you just register for the first grade? There’s nothing wrong with doing an extra year. You’re only nineteen, which is about the same age as everyone else."
"Did I perform that poorly?" Yuri asked, surprised. She thought she had done pretty well.
"Why don’t you bring up the results, ma’am?" Tuss suggested.
Seeing no other choice, the teacher went to check Yuri’s scores, trying to comfort her along the way. "This was the most difficult version of the exam. Even if your scores aren’t high, that’s..."
The teacher stopped mid-sentence, taken aback.
Seeing the scores, all starting with a nine, she fell silent.
She had underestimated Yuri.
After successfully registering, Yuri and Tuss left the office.
"Why didn’t you have to take an exam?" Yuri asked, puzzled. We’ve both taken a half-year leave from school, so why do I have to take an exam while Tuss doesn’t?
"Perhaps it’s because I’ve always been the top student in school," Tuss said nonchalantly.
Yuri could hear the bragging in his tone.
